I’m a nursing student and I’m going to the hospital as a volunteer on Thursday as well. I’m a bit nervous but I’m excited to be able to participate and help others. I’m going to have 12 hour shifts. I also feel like I have an obligation to help others because this is the career I have chosen. This inspires me a lot Soony, I absolutely love your videos and you’re such a great student. This was great to watch, cos I've been volunteering on a ward in Edinburgh for a while and it made me realise how lucky we are that the whole hospital isn't all covid (yet). Well done soony and all the other volunteers it makes such a difference to all the patients, they all seem so happy to get a cup of tea and a chat when none of them can see family or friends. I should be starting new shifts next week on a covid ward so wish me luck!

Great for you Soony! On behalf of everyone thank you soo soo much for volunteering! Do keep healthy and make sure to take care of your mental health too! working in covid hospitals must not be easy. My friends who are in the frontlines always find it helpful to check in on each other and think of the silver lining to get through the day, like what a time this is in their medical training, and how they are able to brush up on their clinical skills along the way, absorb and learn as much as they can with every patient they get. Don't forget to celebrate the small victories too! as I can imagine this will all probably gonna get even worse for the next few weeks. The anxiety is there, but this is when your calling gets past the books and exams, and to where you are actually needed, through every way we ever can help. All the best Sonny!

I am late but thankyou for being brave! You'll be great as a future doctor! I am actually a Laboratory scientist (and also a phlebotomist due to lack of manpower) and we are really doing our best to fight this covid-19. Thank u soony for volunteering when u didn't have to. I can relate about the feeling guilty part because i'm a final yr medical student in Malaysia. But becoz we have a surplus of medical graduates, (my seniors who graduated last year are still waiting for their posts), the government hasn't opened volunteering opportunities for students. But i console myself by the fact that i'm studying and staying at home, and that's probably the best that i can do for now. And probably i'd be more help at home rather than on the wards.
