Nice reaction, you seem to have a deep and genuine appreciation for the music. This version of purple was an incredibly talented band that put out some great music... all outstanding and excellent musicians.

Deep Purple, along with Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, are generally considered the progenitors of "heavy metal." That's what we called their avant-garde music back in the day, even though not every song qualified (modern historical revisionists can go fly a kite.)

They were invited to a live TV programme and the crowd was asked to stay quiet so as not to have interference with recording equipment. Very basic tech those days.

if you listen to other live recordings from the 1970s, even years later, you will realize that what they used here might have been basic compared to modern equipment, but it was the peak of technology at the time. One of the best recordings of that time, by far.

Freakin wild., those young British bands were off the charts creative geniuses that ruled.., Deep Purple is considered as a third of the unholy trinity of hard rock bands with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath ..Check out the album The Book Of Taliesyn 1968 with original vocalist Rod Evans ,it is a realy neat prog style sound.. .Rod was replaced in 1970 with Ian Gillan you see here on the vid,,, Black Night Speed King Smoke on the Water are highly recommended

@powerdown77723 ай бұрын
Don't know why this song was requested. I was in high school when Deep Purple started. If you look up their top selling songs I guarantee this song will not be on it. I have never heard this song before.

That's because 'Child in Time' was never released as a single, only as a track on the album 'Deep Purple in Rock.' And because of its length of 10 minutes it wasn't played on the radio either.
