4-4-2-2 is the best build IMHO. Gives you the most lore and insight. I mean Shivers is a bit low, but you can always increase it later, if you want to be one with the city. Oh man... you have no idea what you're signing in for. This game changes people. And I'm not even joking 😉 One more thing. Don't be afraid to take checks, even with low percentage. You can always increase the skill or sometimes find some piece of info that inproves the chance and then you can retry the check again. You can also talk to Lena in cafeteria after Kim joins you, you missed her 😉 And this game rewards failure, so failing red checks leads to the most hilarious parts of the game. Too bad you passed the one with Klaasje. If you fail it... let's just say it's one of the funniest moments in Disco Elysium.

If you’re looking for games that are easy on the wrist, you can try visual novels like Coteries of New York and Shadows of New York. You’ll have to do all of the voice acting yourself for these two. There’s also Swansong that is more in the style of Detroit, but without the weird button prompts, and almost no hand holding. So you have to really investigate to find the clues you need, while also managing your limited resources. Managing resources means that you can’t go down every rabbit hole like you would in Detroit, or else you can end up in a really bad confrontation without the resources needed to succeed. There is a way to safe scum, but it’s not an intended feature of the game so it’s very limited. Granted the views for those games will probably not be the highest, but I enjoyed their stories and always like watching people I like play through them. The only thing I didn’t like about the game is that you’re given three characters that on paper should be extremely powerful and feared by almost everyone else in the setting, but due to RPG mechanics, they all start off as weak and you need to build them up as the game progresses. Only one has an ingame justification for this.
