I'm so glad games like this still exist. Fans can probably still discuss the story years later because there are many ways to interpret it. It's not for everyone, but it's interesting.

@53:50 5 verst per hour is walking speed of an adult human. It's approx. 5.5 km/h. Verst is an old measurement of distance equal to 1.1 km, give or take. Well, maybe on a half-frozen stream humans move slower...

It's a real quality game. a few years ago there was also a quality game about a viking girl with schizophrenia. Hellbllade is the name. Very recommended.

I even mentioned Hellblade in this video. You can find my playthrough of Hellblade 1 here, and I will start Hellblade 2 in a few days!

There are so many of these 4 or 5 hour walking simulator type games, but I like the unique touches they put on this one with its setting and the 8-bit mini games. The lighting is so good!

yeah agreed! I love shorter story driven games like this. I love diving into such stories, it's like a longer interactive movie!

I like the GoPro-style camera angle and the occasional switch to a wide angle. It is an interesting way to visualize the story. They could use a Stanley Parable-style narrator throughout, but they choose not to, which is a good decision because it could become annoying. So cool to see the attention to detail.
@PopcornMax1793 ай бұрын
@4zims they wouldn't have had the devil talk all throughout the game (or is he a personification of her repressed impulse for questioning and reason?). He talks to Indika when it serves the purpose of the story. So it wouldn't make sense for him to constantly be talking. In Stanley Parable my interpretation is the narrator is a representation of the game designer themselves breaking the concept of what freedom the player really has in a videogame. Stanley can't talk back because the player can't talk back.

If the letter is to say she's defrocked, it seems a bit odd to me that it matters whether or not she's supposed to know that or completes the delivery of the letter. I suppose maybe it's not official until the letter is delivered, like the head of the convent doesn't have the authority or something? 🤷♂ idk. Still, does seem like it mightn't matter if Ilya and Indika just go off wherever. Also, demonic super-strength or something, throwing that building-tipping safe around, wheels or no.

Maybe they were scared she might cause a scene at the cloister if they'd told her directly. And yes I thought the same.. the Safe is heavy enough to tip the house, but the skinny lil nun just pushes it casually around

Hi Lizz! I hope you're keeping well? I had seen this game and was in two minds about getting it but think, having watched you play it, I might give it a try. I love how, while out in the cold, the colours are somewhat muted without looking all washed out. I feel it helps not only give a somewhat sombre mood to the game, as well as feeling very cold but it contrasts nicely against the warmth of fire or inside a building that might also be warmer. You mentioned the cloth physics also which does look good. I often find myself oddly drawn to and interested in water when it comes to games. With today's technology, it seems to have a more fluid feel when you interact with it and the speeds at which water ripples move, not to mention the water shades looking so much better. There is water in another game I play, although I forget which, where the water reacts not only well to objects that interact with it but also itself in the sense that it creates correct water flows, ripples etc. There is something a little odd about its texture, though, but I believe that may be due to how the water for the game is created. I haven't checked but I think it uses some kind of volume or particle physics, maybe both, to create the water. This does look rather interesting and seems she ( The Nun ) it getting tired and fed up of how she's being treated, taken advantage of in some ways, and looked down upon. I like yourself am not religious and so would say I see her anger rising while I'm sure the religious types might say that they devil is seducing her in a way, trying to gain control of her. There were some interesting ways to solve puzzles, such as her praying, which was rather novel, not seen things done that way before. As always, a wonderful video play though. Have a fantastic day, take care!

8:57 Oh true, noone likes that feeling! 😆 I mostly choose to slow down and just stay behind them then *chillmode* lol. And then there is that other thing in gaming: Where there's NPCs that you must follow to a certain location and they have a walking speed that is sliiightly above or below yours, so you can't just walk besides them but instead you have to adjust walking and running the whole time. Every gamer hates that haha. 😂😂
