Adam, You are very brave to make a video such as this and you should be very proud of yourself. I am sure you will have picked up great lessons from this experience and best wishes for the future.

Thanks for the kind words, when making these videos I try my best to share both the highs and lows as "raw" as possible, and I definitely can take a lot away from this one! Already looking forward to the next one!

Getting out of that lake looked horrific. 😮 Unlucky on the crash but no real damage. I once crashed in a middle distance race and i had to have 2 surgeries in 6 months after 🙈 Chin up and onto the next one.

Thanks mate, yeah after having a couple more weeks to reflect on this I did get incredibly to come away just a bit scuffed! Like you say, onwards and upwards to the next one! 💪😎

So sorry that you didn't have a good race day. I also had my first dnf earlier this year after coming off my bike. So easy to do. I hope you have a speedy recovery. Thanks for all the videos, I found your previous Aberfeldy video and your loch ness etape videos helpful to prep for doing the events for the first time this year! I actually spotted you at the race briefing this weekend but didn't get a chance to say hi. Thanks again.

To hear that these little videos can help people prep for these events in any way is so heartwarming! Thank you!

Adam, there’s a lot of factors involved in events like this. This is merely a learning experience and stepping stone on to the next one. Your emotion shows your sincerity - keep positive! 👏

Thanks! Yeah, after this it really does show me how quickly a race can be over and has gave me a lot to think about but like you said also an opportunity to learn from. Thanks for such a thoughtful comment!

Head up Adam. These things happen even to the very best. I’m sure you will be able to use this as motivation for your next challenge! I found speech from Denzil Washington hugely inspiring in my own journey…

It’s been a pishy summer in Scotland. That loch is probably no warmer today than it was in April. It’s a shame you crashed, you looked to be in good form in the earlier videos.

You are exactly right the weather has been atrocious! Yeah, I was feeling pretty good on the lead in to the race but I guess this has showed me how quickly a race can be over! Thank you for commenting!

Adam, it could be so much worse - you're a lucky boy. It's normal to feel disappointed but you'll have plenty more opportunities to shine. The loch was't the warmest (14C) and I had very cold and numb feet through the bike and was able to defreeze the 5k into the run. I imagine that for the lean guys it had to be even worse. I approach races with the mindset "Something will go wrong and I may not finish". If it happens - I'm not surprised, if not - I'm grateful. And you didn't lose much - there weren't finisher medals, so it's like I wasn't racing at all. 😁 Take care of yourself, Adam.

Yeah, definitely mindset going into races is very important! Congrats on finishing in those horrible conditions, thanks for the kind comment!

Ay lad, you learn in life that you need to take the downs with the highs. It’s shit now but this will make you a stronger person and it’ll feel that much better next time you cross a finish line 😉

Exactly right! Thanks, already looking forward to future races! 😎🙌
