I've always liked how, contrary to other Gens, the Gym Leaders in Unova actually DO something besides give out badges. In Black & White, Elesa Lowers the Drawbridge for access to Driftveil, Clay opens Chargestone Cave and meets you in twist mountain, Lenora and Burgh join you in hunting down Team Plasma(twice for Burgh), Alder speaks and interacts with you on multiple occasions, and at the end they quite literally JUMP The seven sages and the rest of Team Plasma. I remember talking to Alder right before entering Twist mountain and thinking, "Who the F*ck is Marshall?", when he said that Cheren reminds Alder of him. Spoiler...I became VERY familiar with Marshall...And Shauntal...that league scares me.

Sabrina & Fantina are actresses Viola is a Photographer Jasmine keeps the Lighthouse Brawly is a Bodybuilder Clemont is an Inventor Giovanni is a Gang Leader Piers leads a Squad who supports his sister Marnie and he's a Singer Surge is a Lieutenant in the Military Roark and Byron would be Miners

@@ItsFireTiger True, but I wasn't talking about occupations, though I do enjoy that as well. I was talking about how they interact with the player and physically aid in the story, especially when it comes to the evil team. Aside from the first Gym, every Gym leader does something to directly help the Protag in some way. Whether it was fighting Team plasma, helping you advance to the next city, or giving out useful information, they all make some contribution towards helping you out.
