Yes, I was using my brain on full power for a few days. I tried everything I could think of. Combination of numbers, months and so many tricks. But I enjoyed it. And I never solved it. I brute forced it with 999 combinations

I stumbled upon this series because I watched a Silent Hill 2 Remake Trailer, KZbin recommended your channel to me, and I'm not disappointed. I like how you tried to uncover the story by catching on little details while avoiding spoilers as much as possible.

The story from the first game is so good. I love the contrast of Harry being a loving adoptive parent and Dahlia being an abusive biological parent. Harry is definitely top 5 video game dads.

A lot of the games in the series have joke endings like this. I'm pretty sure they're all only attainable on second playthroughs, but they're all worth watching for a laugh.

Because Of SH2 remake there is been a surge of SH content in youtube and I watched so many of them cause of my deep love for the series. Gotta say yours was the best. your observations was on point, using camera angles leaded you to see many details others missed and you understood how story bits came together very well. Love this masterpiece and loved watching you loving it.

1:21:30 that scene is Dahlia originally thinking that Alessa needs to mature before she can be used to birth god. Then she realized she only needed Alessa's womb. So to speed things up she trapped her in the house and burnt it down and begin the process.

i love that you saw the UFO ending lmaooo silent hill always has some silly stuff in it, i like to think it's the devs giving you a little break from the horror once you've beaten the game so that you can relax haha this is one of my favourite playthroughs on the channel, i was super looking forward to each episode and they always delivered. thanks for such a great playthrough, very excited for silent hill 2!!

Lisa was already dead before the events of the game. The Lisa we meet is a construct created by Alessa/Cheryl based on what she knew of her. She is the same as the monsters, but instead of trying to stop Harry with violence she is designed to stop him in more alluring forms. Since Lisa is one of the only kind people Alessa ever met she recreated her to be kind and try to stop Harry. That is why she can't go with harry but she doesnt want harry to go.

Yes, she is in many ways very similar to Maria from SH2. Both of them were created from the memories of someone who knew the real person.

1:00:55 That's a jewellery shop you can go into in the Silent Hill Town Centre. It's an optional area, there are some supplies and a save point there, you missed it because you didn't get to look around fully before you stepped on the breaking floor and fell down into the fight with the giant caterpillar.

You did really well connecting the story dots and getting the Good+ ending on your first go! The things you need to do for it aren't obvious and you have to go out of your way for them, so it's not what I normally expect on someone's first playthrough. Really looking forward to Silent Hill 2

Something I actually love is that the extremely cacophanous final boss "song" is called "My Heaven". And this is just a fan theory, but I like the idea that the noise that sounds like a dentist's drill is actually the radio going apeshit because the Incubus is SO powerful and fucked up that it's basically overloading

i realise this is wayyyy to late for this information to be useful, but for jumpers (or rompers as they apparently are actually called), you're supposed to mash X and wiggle the stick to get out of their grasp. This'll reduce the damage as Harry gets out faster. I think maybe being shot by Cybil is a similar thing, I mean for Harry to get up faster, but I don't know. Anyways, love the series

1:16:08 reminded me more of that beksinski artwork with the valley of death, it's kinda cool the amount of detail that goes into these small assets that were literally impossible to see back on ps1 CRT screens. I noticed the same with the old resident evil games, especially 3 when upscaled.

Most people in the early days of this game coming out only really realised you could use the red liquid was from some hinted documentation and completing it atleast once after saving Kauffman and him using it to remove the demon from Alessa. You still had to put 2 & 2 together

One thing of note is that the intro video played is different if you’ve beaten the game. Without a save file the woman shown when picking up the baby isn’t Cybil but likely Harry’s wife

Congrats on beating the game Amber! Fun fact-if you make it to the final boss fight without any ammo for your guns then the boss will automatically die!😂Melee weapons cannot be used on it because it always hovers in the air!😅Quite a few items are only available in new game plus, channeling stone being one!😊

That's a good tip for a speed run, just deplete all your ammo before the final room.

So much love and effort was put into these older games with the multipe endings, depending on choices made you can fight a different boss even apart from the demon you can fight goddess Alessa

The first time I played this game, I accidentally saved Cybil while mashing the controller trying to get out of her choke. Somehow I was able to go into the menu and use the liquid while still mashing the controller in panic.

Lisa was long dead before the start of the game. The Lisa we see is a memory created by Alessa. Kauffman was a jerk to her which is why she prevented him from escaping during the final scene.

An easy way to take out those things on the ceiling is to get them to chase you to a smaller tunnel; They can't go on the ceiling in the low tunnels, so they'll drop to the ground to chase you. Then, you just bash them with the hammer.

Using the liquid to save Cybil only makes sense after having finished the game and having seen Kaufmann use it.

Yes, unfortunately that is the canon ending, which doesn't make any sense, as Harry had no way of knowing that he had to use the liquid to save Cybil. If they remake this game, I hope they fix that plot hole.

Looking very Claire today! This was an awesome series to watch despite all of this horror stuff, which isn't my cup of tea. It was quite funny at moments, you have perfect reactions to being scared, I love it. And that voice acting made me laugh so hard - no emotions at all, definitely not read directly from the script. It was so bad it became good.

Really enjoyed this playthrough thanks. I played it on PS1 back in the day and it was the first game that genuinely scared me. From the moment the town goes dark world when the monkey things are everywhere, I just full on panicked and ran past everything, not to mention I was super low on health and ammo the whole time. Needless to say I got the bad ending and was very confused about the plot because I missed a load of lore! Went back and played it again later to get better endings and understand the plot a bit more. I'm still unclear what the deal is with Kauffman and his red drug. Is there some lore that Amber missed that explains it better? Is Cheryl a twin sister of Alessa, younger sister of Alessa or Alessa's kid? I noticed in this playthrough that when you are in Alessa's room in Nowhere, the pictures scattered on the ground look a lot like the flying bird monsters and the pink dogs. This hints she created these monsters out of her imagination (and presumably all of them as it's 'her' hellscape). Anyway enjoying the Silent Hill 2 playthrough as well, though I'm going to wait to watch the rest because Remake is arriving shortly, woop!

Amazing play though, it's such a great game, even today. Just a mention, although it's nowhere near as good as 1-3, Silent Hill Origins might be worth a play if you want to know a bit more to the story to Silent Hill 1.

SH2 is entirely it's own thing but if you ever choose to play SH3, it's plot is deeply connected to this game. It's also fantastic so I'd recommend it.

But yes this game is quite amazing, I remember in 1999 a 10 year old me first picked this game up and being scared out of my life, been fascinated by it ever since especially two and my personal favorite is Silent Hill 3.

I always preferred Resident Evil. I can appreciate Silent Hill more now, but I didn't enjoy them when I first played them. I found the stories too confusing and depressing. The constant fog, the annoying music, and the repetitive combat also got on my nerves.
