It has been a while since you recorded this, and I am wondering if you have considered playing the two available DLCs? "Opposing Force" lets one experience the events around the Black Mesa incident as one of the soldiers, and in "Blue Shift" one plays as a security guard. Some new weapons, new creatures and most importantly the different perspectives bring variety - fun stuff!

Loved the series, I had much fun!! You can play the expansions HL Blue Shift, you play as Bert and its fairly short, and HL Opposing Forge, you play as one of the military and it has cool alien weapons, it is official but was removed from canon

Hey, just wanna tell you that during the factory area in Interloper, all the Vortigaunts(electric aliens) were actually peaceful and are just slaves. So you were just killing slaves who wouldn't have actually bothered you if you didn't shoot at them specifically

A few things to prepare for Half Life 2. 1. Endure the ladders. They shall return. 2. Interact/talk often with others. 3. Think realistically in how one should progress through the environmental puzzles. Have fun!

May I suggest you play Half-Life: Blue Shift before jumping into HL2? It's the second expansion (not DLC, it was before Horse Armor) and it covers the events of HL1 from the perspective of another important character of the franchise. Opposing Force is also really fun but more an optionnal side story.

after beating half life, it was fun replaying it just to find clever ways to use the laser mines and turrets on enemies. back then there was no internet so I didn't know many people didn't like zen either until I read about it online. I enjoyed it though.

Damn this hit hard. Sorry for your loss! My son and I watched his Mum struggle with cancer and pass away, she was only 34. Excited for HL2 tho I do hope you get around to playing the 2 dlc type games first Blue Shift and Opposing Force, though not needed for HL2 they're good to play and also who you play in Blue Shift is important for HL2

I like what they did with Xen in Black Mesa (Half-official community-driven Half-Life 1 remake). They made it longer, less confusing, less difficult and just gorgeous. Also added original puzzles instead of certain amount of jumping around trippy textures. Other part of jumping around trippy textures they've kept, because it's Xen, c'mon.
