I presume not snap calling with the aces was tactical or am I missing something? It got me - I was pretty sure he didn't have the aces unlike Brad who clearly considered it more of a possibility. How much weight can you put into bet timing in online poker - they could be having a sip of coffee or scratching their butt!

I went to Cabo about 22 years ago for my first visit it was a wonderful place, I was very lucky to have been traveling with an acquaintance of Sammy so I got a chance to hang out with him at his place Cabo Wabo before he sold the brand and made millions. it certainly was more rustic and local. However, being there several times since then it is still a gem.

On the bubble, you should probably size a bit larger most of the time as chip leader at your table. You put them more of a shove or fold spot the majority of the time, and you should be able to pick up more uncontested pots. Their ranges should be more narrow, too.

Congrats Brad on your final table, looks like you and Andrew are living the dream! I was wondering what software you are using for your range analysis?
@BradOwenPoker4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris. I'm not using any software for range analysis. I'm just using preflop charts from Pokercoaching.com and Upswing. In my opinion pokercoaching.com has an easier push/fold setup and upswing has an easier to use preflop guide in real time for various big blind depths when you're not open shoving so I have them both up at the same time and switch to whichever I need depending on stack depth. I think the Upswing one you have to be a member of the tournament masterclass and that's $1k or something. You can get a free 5-day signup to pokercoaching.com with a link in the description box if you want to check that out though.
@chriswalter7454 жыл бұрын
Brad Owen, thanks. I am also using poker coaching pre-flop charts and like you mention really struggle with them in real time, so was on the look out for alternatives. Upswings $1k membership is a bit steep for my current level, but thanks for the info. Good luck with the rest of your games.

Hey Brad, just wondering about that A3s hand vs theHJ shove. When the HJ is one of the shortest stacks at the table, isn’t he incentivized to shove with a fairly narrow range that mainly dominates your A3? I’m just wondering if that’s a +EV call from an ICM perspective even though I’m fairly certain it’s making chips in a pure chipEV scenario. I’m not trying to be a “comment pro” I’m just genuinely curious because ICM is tough and HRC/icmizer doesn’t really like calling short stack all-ins with weak AXs.
@Andy-ug2hm4 жыл бұрын
Short stack doesn't have luxury to sit back and ladder while waiting for premium hands. Blinds keep going up and each round chips keep melting making a shove less likely to go through. If there is no open and short stack is in late position its a mandatory shove with anything playable. A queen high+, anything connected, suited. Blinds should call a bit wider due to that but obviously can't call too wide as don't want small stacks doubling. A3 in that spot is ahead of average shoving range.

3:15 I by no means am saying I'm right or a pro player, but I do play many tournaments. I like checking here for several reasons. If he has nothing he is folding, if he has a 10 he's raising and putting u in a really tough spot. What hands are you getting value from? Maybe middle pairs or a weaker ace. As for his 10k bet, I like that sizing because he's going to get called with weaker hands and win most of the time. Where if he bets big, say 20k-30k he's pretty much saying I only want to get called by better hands. By checking you allow yourself to allow him to bluff again. I think if he has a middle pair he might call, but that's just my opinion.
