Good on ya for building your dreams. As a tip you can use your dirty fish water to water your plants outside. The fish water is fertilizer. Keep it up.
@claywise433 жыл бұрын
Not that you asked for our opinion, but if I were you, I would insulate first. Walls a drywall later. The insulation serves a utilitarian purpose, keeping temps stable for your fish. Walls are for looks. Split it up and split the costs. But you do what you think is best. Everything looks great and I’m excited for you!
@RyoWatanabee3 жыл бұрын
Yup, I did mention that. I’m definitely putting insulation and I could just do it the cheap way and add styrofoam insulation but I really want to be able to screw things into the wall because I want to build a drain pipe that goes around the room. That’s why I want some walls :)

I wonder if you could have the room sprayed with foam insulation? Is that a thing in Japan? Might not cost too much bc of size and then you could do drywall later on if needing to split costs up. The room looks like it’s coming along well!
@RyoWatanabee3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t seen spray foam in Japan. We’ve got styrofoam insulation sheets and the other type that is like a glass fiber wool thing. I’m planning to use the latter. And I need walls up because I really want to mount drain pipes and air pipes to go around the room. I don’t want to have to redo the tanks in the future again just to get drywall’s in. It’s a pain having to move all the tanks 🥲
@cinnamonsparrowdesigns3 жыл бұрын
@@RyoWatanabee Fiberglass is prob the cheapest and easiest to do. And yeah having to move stuff constantly sounds annoying. Good luck! I couldn't imagine not having AC b/c I live in Okinawa currently and it's hot almost all year haha

Thank you for the video. Is the goldfish pond going to stay outside over the winter? If so, I think you will need to make it deeper so that it doesn't freeze over. I think a depth of 3 feet would be better for the goldfish, as opposed to 2 feet you were planning. Someone else may advise deeper. King of DIY went for 6 feet for his pond. Just something to consider. Take care.

It think it would be more cost effective to get a small window A/C. One cooling that size room shouldn't be anymore electricity than running a bunch of heaters, and cooling the space the tanks are in is much easier than cooling individual tanks.
