I climbed the wall last year, it was definitely a unique experience, I don't know how closely it relates to free soloing but it's definitely a step in that direction. The kind of focus you get from climbing a route without a rope, even a year later I still remember most of the moves on that route, even though it was a relatively easy grade (I didn't try the comp one, way too hard) Kinda sad I decided not to go this year knowing now that you were there!! Glad you had fun though, hope you enjoyed Montreal in general too!

One thing in climbing ive learned is to look but not see. If im up 30 meters id be terrified to see my height from the ground. So look but dont see. See only the wall. See only your holds. See only your goal

Do you have to keep drying off your shoes?

You can dry them as much as you can with a towel. I’ve seen climbers hop back on pretty quickly and didn’t seem to be a problem.

First off, I want to say AMAZING SEND on the Psicobloc! I have been dying to try one since I've seen one haha! Also, the urban boulders were AMAZING! Dude, your shoes look like they could be potentially amazing for crack climbing?! Have you put it specifically to the test by chance? My current crack shoe has rubber similar to yours high on the sides but it has... laces! and they SPLIT SO MUCH! I haven't been able to find a strap shoe with high enough leather... Your new shoe looks amazing.
