@@Grim-Crusader lovely to hear and you of my same vintage I see. This is the hobby to at just keeps on giving. I think I got this catalogue in 1990 so I would have been 18 or so I guess. Time flies as they say

Would be nice if GW still did these and perhaps divided it into multiple books, for sci-fi and fantasy, etc.

Good stuff. I'd have loved this guide for my Battlemaster figs (I was only 9 or 10). That was about the time GenX came inside for the 1st time with the advent of the NES, Super Mario and The legend of Zelda 😂

The two chaos minis you panned over on the introduction page were really tough chaos cards in the original red citadel combat cards which i still have thankfully. They had some funky names on those cards. They really inspired my own love of rhe hobby together with guides just like this. Nice video, thanks!
@thecrownofcommand58303 ай бұрын
@@albertbargery9619 thank you and I have never had or seen the combat cards apart from when I worked at GW in London and I saw they had some in a plastic case. Thanks for sharing that piece of information with us as I had no idea. Cheers

GW gave up with book form painting guides circa 2016, I dunno why, I think they were brilliant and a must have when it was specific to an army or army faction.
@PartisanGamerDE3 ай бұрын
The answer with GW is ALWAYS: shareholders and profit. It didn't make them enough money for the investment so they cut it.

I was born in '93 but I've had this guide in digital form for a few years, and it's brilliant. I think it might be the best paint guide GW ever produced. Every single thing I can think of, this guide addresses, except oil washes and airbrushes, of course. Thank you for making this video, I'm sure this little booklet holds a special place in your heart!

It'll still beats many youtubers today this guide, and it encourages experimentation. So many trying to re invent the wheel but without learning this stuff. Best guide, aside from the mike mcvey ones of course. Even if you prefer grim dark painting styles, this info is still stands,its simple, clear and makes sense to all ages. Genius.
