You brought a tear to my eye bud. Every parade I marched in, every petition I signed, every congressman I wrote has brought me to a moment when a young guy can come out without, as much, fear of rejection and retaliation as there was back in the day. Kudo's for you being you!

As others have mentioned here, you are fortunate to be able to openly express your gayness today. Because back in the day (not too many years ago, really) being only a hint of "gay" could get you beaten up or killed as a teen boy. Us older dudes sometimes complain about "things changing for the worst" in today's world. But actually, some things have definitely changed for the better!

Thank you very much. It was very nice to hear you thank us, older gays, for paving the way. My deceased husband and I both remember Stonewall and all the hateful stuff we had to go through. Sometimes even violence just leaving a gay bar. We managed to be together for 35 years, before he died 2and a half years ago. We never imagined that we would be legally married. It just didn't seem possible, but we did get married. So a big thank you for acknowledging how much work it was. You don't hear that often. Oh and by the the way I love your You Tube show. You guys are carrying he torch now and you do it so well. Thank you again Bill Begley Denver, Co

Stay true to yourself young man. You are something unique. You see in my day boys like you would stay in the closet. I am also a Texan born and raised I've never left San Antonio. Now before you or anybody else chimes in with "boys like you" WTF does that mean. Things were different when I was your age back in the late 80's and early 90's. To many good gay Christian boys either killed themselves or got married. The fact that you live your life open is a sign that we are going in the right direction. It's not just your channel but so many others. I love the pride demonstrated by this generation of gay and lesbian kids. Good Luck with your channel.

Thank you man, because of your generation I was able to come out to my mom at 14. Like I told my little cousin when he was going through high school you have us to think for your comfort level. You know how many boys we had to whip before they understood we were men. Some of us even had bfs and gfs. I don't think these kids know how good they have it in comparison especially in the Catholic-Baptist hoods of New Orleans.

Dude you are a great person with enormous balls for kindly letting the world of heteros see into your gay world at a time when things are just developing.... You bring back my own memories of my first time in high school, WOW hadn't thought about it in years.... I graduated in 1976 from a great high school in central Texas and went to the University of Texas where I moved into the dorm with the freshmen football guys, err we shared a floor. I met my first boyfriend in the first day in the Jester East Piano lounge, he was from C Springs, Colorado and we had rock climbing, backpacking, and poetry in common. I don't think I ever spent a night alone that semester, my roommate did not have a problem with my guy sleeping with me, as long as I said nothing about his girlfriend sleeping with him.. When you are young people are so adaptable. My roommate got his feelings hurt if he didn't get a goodnight kiss. My how wonderful the world was at that time. Smoked a lot of pot, did not drink alcohol, ate alot of mushrooms, dropped LSD on the weekends and still had a 3.9 GPA at the end of my graduation with a degree in engineering. I turned 60 years old this year and I will tell you that inside I still feel just as young and full of life as I did at 18, I just don't have to try all of those crazy things now. My love came down with leukemia in the middle of our sophomore year and was gone in 4 months. I have yet to find another that I can love like that first time.......... The moral Appreciate what you have today, for tomorrow it may well be gone. Good luck dude, keep your pecker up!

I feel ya. I'm a born and raised Texan and I was born bisexual. It was obvious to me that I liked both boys and girls growing up and of course when puberty hit in Jr Highschool I was a complete wreck. You look very athletic and I'm sure that you understand just how difficult it is to stand right next to one or two very cute guys in the boys locker room. Watching them dress and undress. Seeing them standing right in front of you completely naked while you're both toweling off after the showers. It was torture and I don't know how I managed not to pop a woody everyday right in front of everyone there. It could have been because of the one other kid I saw who popped a boner in the showers and the beating and ostracization he had to endure. And I'm pretty sure he was straight. But not even the coaches would stop the ugly behavior of the rest of the homophobic boys. But this was in the seventies. A time when people were actually murdered simply for being gay. In Houston there were more than one incident where people would go out in groups specifically hunting for gays. I remember one such group was caught after murdering two men walking together. And it turned out that they were both straight to boot. I've lost every good opportunity to be with a guy that I actually find attractive. Because of the era I grew up in. There were three or four different boys who I really liked and I thought might be gay or Bi too. But I just couldn't take the chance from all the examples of actual gay kids getting caught together and then beaten daily and nobody would protect them. I just couldn't chance it. It did a real number on my social abilities and my confidence throughout my life. Good thing I liked girls too. I believe that was the only thing that stopped me from getting the pain over with back then. But now I'm a sixty years old Man. Living alone in the East Texas Swamps. And I have never found out how it would feel to be with a guy that way. Partly because of my self confidence, and partly because of my specific attractions. But I'm past my due date anyway. I'm just glad that you took the chance and I hope only the best for you.

Lol you're all being so harsh on him because of what he did in high school. High school is a hard time for a lot of people, especially someone who is gay and isn't out yet. He wasn't sure what he wanted and he was more immature then. He is a grown man now and realizes he hurt the boy, but he stated that he didn't really realize til after and that he was sorry/felt bad about it. We all make mistakes (especially in high school).

Oh the highschool days. I actually got a lot of attention from guys in highschool. They would call me "pretty boy" and there were times where I felt like some of them were flirting with me but I was in the closet and too scared. I remember a couple of guys would play footsies with me under the desk in the classroom but it never went anywhere. I did mess around with a guy who drove me home from school but we only did it once and then never talked about it again. Its really sad that so many guys can't experience dating and courtship. Many of our first times are just sexual and then it becomes a habit rather than going on dates.

Gay Sage Advice: Don't wait until your old to "settle down", (your choises go way down by then) because looks do fade. Being young & beautiful is the *best* time to fall in love, follow your heart, even if it gets broken; then rise up again and again until you meet the one who completes you for they are out there. live life to the fullest but be exactly what you want to see in others. People who make fun of others and are arrogant *DO* get humbled down later in life especially when they think "Karma" doesn't apply to them..Never be afraid to get older, it's a privilege denied to many. Make good decisions now because it *WILL* catch up with you later in older years..your body is a temple, respect it and you'll live a long life. Avoid drama, gossip, fake people & think before you speak in everything. words can't be taken back once they are said. As long as innocence is in a relationship it will survive. but if it vanishes, things are never the same. Be blind to age, race, social status, wealth; you'll meet more interesting people that way. Expect disappointments in people but focus on the positive. Laugh and question everything. Lean on those who are helping make the world a better place. You will be dead one day. You Make your destiny by your choises. If you are wrong, admit it. Be the change you want to see in the world. Good luck! 🌈💖🎵🌸🌞🎻🌹💯

We've all been there and look back and regret moments of our past behavior that could have been much improved. It's life. You made this video 7 years ago and not sure how long before the video you had your first experience with Mike, but I'm guessing you've grown a lot in the years since, but 10 years from now you'll look back and right now and feel you've grown significantly. I attended UA and had some very exciting times in T-Town. Lived there for almost 8 years and will always love my years in Tuscaloosa. My first gay experience as a student was my 2nd week of my Jr. Year I had transferred from Brewer State Jr. college up in Fayette, Al Anyhow, I was very much in the closet, had had many girlfriends in grade school , High School. I was sitting on the 3rd floor inside the sitting area just inside from the back staircase. I was reading/studying but checking out the "duudes" ( I LOVE the way you say duuhhde..LOL). I had had no experience or "gaydar" or had even heard of "cruising" at that time. But it didn't take me long to notice that each time I looked over the top of my Marketing 300 Book, the same dude across the lounge area was doing the same, checking ME out. He had medium length sandy blond hair, about 5'10", medium build, toned and was wearing jeans, tank top and thong flip flops. I got up and went into the restroom and hadn't been standing at a urinal but a second when he came in and stood next to me. We didn't "flash" each other (I was too shy and too much of a gentleman..LOL) but when he back up to put himself back together, I noticed in the mirror him taking his time fixing his white briefs and he had a beautiful package that literally made my mouth water, my heart race and I started hyperventilating. Being my first "cruising" experience and for it to have worked thus far, I was extremely excited and nervous. My mouth was like cotton which was a first for me. To be that young, innocent and inexperienced was so hot. He was still taking his time to make sure his underwear elastic was just so so before pulling up his jeans and zipping up. I had no doubt he was giving me a long peek. He quietly whispered, "do you want to go hang out somewhere sometime"? I replied, 'No, I want to go hang out NOW"...I whispered, "I am new to UA, to town and have never done this before and you are hot! I don't want to risk not seeing you again. If you want to hear the rest of the story, you (meaning anyone that is reading this) can email me at jchristurner@aol.com. While this is one of your older videos it is one of my favorites. When that noise happened and you turned around, "I don't know what the fuck that wuuuz" with those big brown eyes, I always laugh while melting. I love your accent and feel like we are kindred spirits since we both attended UA and lived in Tuscaloosa.
