it's so true...but be careful, sometimes guys will mention their girls to let you know ahead of time, if something happens, remember i'm straight. it could be either or. also it is a test to see if u are in the same boat. if u say my girlfriend this or that, then if u two end up in bed, you both feel safe. if u are gay and are comfortable with a one night stand, talking about a girlfriend, if u can pass for straight, could land a straight identified guy.

This does not necessarily signal to gay guys that you are not open. One dude was always trying to you know, lure me to a sauna saying some girls will come, then only he is there. Or make subtle advances. I basically never noticed it, which obviously sent mixed signals. It was until i went to a club with a female friend, that i noticed that all sorts of dudes were hitting on me. I just thought they want conversation. So i did not close my boundaries.. She started to hint they were hitting on me, and only then did i realize what was going on, haha.. It s kinda cute, but now at least i can give stronger signals without being you know, mean. Haha, once i was sitting there with her, and because we were not a couple, they must have thought im available or something. He asked me some questions (which i did not see as advances back then) and she said to him "He is not gay". And he smiled and left. Those dudes in the club were totally nice though, but the little man who tried to bring me into compromising situations (sauna, inappropriate questions) really was creeping me out. Honestly i never noticed how many guys noticed me, until my friend Tadeja t old me about it. In regards to girl talk, not sure that helps to draw my boundaries. I did that and they did not stop.. Now that i can notice it, i can be much much nicer to those who try.. Without giving them false hope. Also once some1 asked me in a bar if i would come with him to a gay bar, i politely declined, smiled broadly, and thanked him for the flowers. He said "damn" and walked away. I basically watch this video, because apparently i did not learn to have my own boundaries, and want to understand the thing better. And yeah that is true, when i talk about topics im interested in, i could talk hours to somebody without t alking about sex or girls. Simply because im immersive. So dont confuse openness with interest. I did not differentiate and this lead to many weird situations. glhf

Dela Hini Yeah, well, the contestants on RuPaul's Drag Race might beg to differ.
@dela_ruthh6 жыл бұрын
Well, I don't know, I suppose it's all a matter of perspective. Gender in and of itself can be viewed as a social construct, in which gender roles (pertaining to Western society) have been defined throughout an amalgamation of popular Western cultures and traditions. This, however, does not make one culture's approach to gender identity and roles any more valid than another. In that way, the contestants on RuPaul's Drag Race are simply embodying the ideas of the gender norms in their societal context, therefore playing into the construct. In other words, gender is what you make it because it is culturally defined and then internalized at the individual level (which can then have more serious psychological effects, in regards to self-esteem, etc). Sex, however, refers to an individuals biological assignment, and we could go on about how sex is different from gender, but hey, this is just a really sweet KZbin video and there isn't any need for facetious banter. I appreciate your comment but I fail to understand how it's relevant to what I said and to the video.
@hexum76 жыл бұрын
Dela Hini Well, you are right in that the contestants on the Drag Race are ( mostly) presenting as the cultural expectations of female gender, as defined by our society- and, in fact, not really just the cultural norms, but highly exaggerated and pointedly expressed aspects of that norm, that we assign to gender- for example, there seems to be an unwritten rule that they wear extremely long high heels- but that is an expression of femininity unique to western culture - many other cultures do not associate women with high heels at all, and those that do often adopted it from Europe and America. But, I wasn't referring to just the performances. I recently binge watched a season of the show, and one thing that stood out in the narratives that was almost universally true of all the "queens" is a history of having been ridiculed, persecuted, and even rejected by their own families for being too effeminate, too girly. This was true, even for the youngest ones. So, their drag personas are a way for them to take that pain and humiliation and throw it in the world's face. To say, yes, I an a boy who acts like a girl- and it's fabulous. _ these aren't transgendered people (for the most part) who identify as female. These are cis males who the world would destroy for being too much like the opposite gender. And, yes, that's all a bit too heavy for a comment on this video. It's just that due to the binge, it was very much on my mind. I apologize for messing with the mood. You may now return to your regular video comments

Re: Eye Contact. Twice this failed to be a correct indicator - in fact, the only two times I judged a guy by eye contact were BOTH wrong. I think this is a thing that varies with culture as well. In the US yeah, straight guys don't generally maintain prolonged eye contact but I met two different guys (possibly both were South American) who both made prolonged eye contact and seemed overly friendly and yet both were straight. So NOT a universal gay thing.

"Gaydar" is asinine. Masculine gay guys, and feminine straight guys exist.
@eddiej92702 жыл бұрын
So I’ll tell you this. I’m 18, I have always been aware that I’m gay and when I finally reached the age of 18 (about two months ago). A month ago, I met a guy at my friend’s. The first time I saw him with mask on, I was laying on a hammock, we looked at each other for one second as he was walking into the kitchen, I thought about him since then how he was so handsome and that was it. Later on, we were drinking, I kept looking at him and he kept looking at me, even everyone in the room could see the intension between us even when they were drunk. We realized that it was our second time meeting. What my friends said was that he is straight that he has always dated girls but if you look at me and him at the same time, you will say I look straight and he looks gay because he’s a pretty fem boy, and I’m more like a regular straight guy. His voice and the way he talks give it away but in a cute, baby way. Everyone agrees that he is cute like a baby. Everybody girls, boys, gay, straight, lesbian... everyone agrees he’s cute, and I so love him for the cuteness. After done drinking I had to go home and he didn’t want me to leave. Fast forward, the second we went drinking again was at my house and while my two other friends are lying on the floor, he and I had our first kiss, it was like 4 seconds. After that night, we kept thinking about each other everyday but we didn’t text anything about that night. And after a week later, we met again and I decided to talk it out. He admitted that the first time we met he noticed everything I did, how handsome I am, how I walked, how I talked, how I smiled, and that the first time he has feelings for a guy. So we kept texting, about 2 weeks ago, we had another talk about how he finds the answer if he is gay, or bi or straight, he said he is confused, he doesn’t know. All my friends think that he is trying to hide himself, Idk, but he said he’s not sure if he’s gay or bi. After another week, I asked him if he has decided yet, because keeping me waiting is going to hurt me only. I wanted to know if we should be dating or just being friends, he decided that we should be friends because he is afraid that if he’s dating me while not knowing what his sexuality is and when it won’t work between us, we will lose the friendship..... Now we are friends but we don’t talk, actually we try to stay away from each other, and I feel hurt. He was my first kiss, I was his also first kiss, and all the sweet moments we had, kissing cheeks goodbye, playing games together, cuddling, and the loving caring texts... because of all of that, I can’t unlove him. I don’t know what he’s thinking right now, I visited his profile everyday and one day his bio said, “I always leave a spot for you” idk if it was for me but we used to talk by changing on our bios, it was fun. But I keep telling myself that he doesn’t really love me so that I can get over it. I admit that I can’t unlove him but it's getting better everyday. What I’m telling you is, loving a straight or confused guy is hurtful, especially when you both done kissing, cuddling, texting, admitting feelings for the other but still not even a thing.... that hurts.
@1220MrCool2 жыл бұрын
I am so sorry to hear about what you have gone through. It definitely sounds like this guy really takes a strong attraction in and strong interest in you man. Also I think that you need to stay away from his social media, take some time for yourself, and perhaps talk to a therapist about how you feel hurt. You deserve to feel happy and love your life more; hang in there!

@@DJDeezNutz but he’s not the one who’s confused the other guy is and that’s hard, being in love with someone who doesn’t know its sexuality is rather painful, so it’s always preferable to be in love with someone who knows their sexuality and isn’t conflicted about their likings or preferences, hope you got it

@eddiej9270 Жыл бұрын
@@thevaccinator666 i don’t think so, as far as I know, he hasn’t been in a relationship since, but I got over it. Another part of the story is that my friend, who is now my ex-friend, told him not to date me, he said to him “you shouldn’t be with him if you aren’t sure of your sexuality!” but that friend told me, he said “i told him that because he cared about you, I don’t want u to get hurt” lol he cheated, talking about a good relationship. Anyways my ex-friend and the guy are pretty close, so I didn’t go all the way telling the guy not to listen to him, just kinda accepted. One time, me and the guy were cuddling then that ex-friend asked the guy if he liked me more than him, of course the guy said he liked me more, than the friend suddenly changed face, then for a moment he whispered, “i used to like you” while we being confused, he stomped out of the room, and the guy ran after asking questions, I was left alone and saw what he tried to do, like what?? He was in a relationship at the time and had the audacity to do that. The next day I confronted him about why he’d do that, he said “i’m kidding, it was a joke haha” I’m glad I kicked that kind of friend out of my life.

Duff Clem Not finding gay men as attractive doesn't mean he's self-hating. Think about it: There are millions of more straight men than there are gay men... Duff Clem It's his general experience. If most gay or straight men are like that in his town, then he has a right to generalize. Obviously not all gay men are like that but you can't blame him if every single guy has been like that for him. Uh, if he generally only thinks straight guys are attractive, it's safe to say he's into masculine men only and not the feminine gay men he's met. Not all gay men are feminine, of course, and I'd say a majority aren't, but some are and I think those are the type that are mostly out of the closet.

The most difficult time was telling my friend . I never did care about what my parents thought. My 2 brothers are straight but totally cool. My sister supports Trump and is the girlfriend of a married straight adulterer. But me and M were friends for many years. Finally, he asked me, are you gay? Seriously, this is after 25 years of friendship! I began to cry and told him yes. But then the conversation was interrupted because we were at a gathering. Everything turned out fine. I was afraid if he knew I was gay, he wouldn't love me anymore. But he still loved me for sake of our friendship.

I always thought if I could get to know him more, but pandemic has stopped that flow. One day I was just coming out from restroom and we were face to face. The moment was so sudden that your all guards fell off. We spoke for the first time and he had a such a charming smile.

I’d say pay attention to their voice, if they are into you then their voice is likely to change around you. Also body contact. I had this one friend who would always touch me but swore he was straight, recently I found out that wasn’t the case. And body language is a big indicator, like if someone is blushing when they talk to you, if they have their bodies pointed toward you, if they are really open. It really isn’t hard to tell when you look at the right signs lol

When I finally came out in my mid 30s I realized it was ok to look at guys, it opened a whole new wonderful world. I went to a mall with some friends and realized there was eye candy everywhere. I noticed who the guys were looking at. If they were looking at other men, I was pretty sure they were gay. If they were looking at women or just briefly glanced at me, they were straight.

There is a difference between stalking and looking up. Stalking is when they reply to every Facebook post you make for 3 months in a row, start friending your friends, and showing up at events you are at. Stalking is creepy. Merely checking out someone’s profile is not stalking.
@boshlovely20026 жыл бұрын
Derek (D-Rock) Birch I think the definition of stalking has changed a bit, because as far as I know in the early 1970’s and back if someone knew your age, height, where you’ve been recently and u didn’t actually know the person that would be considered a stalker But then again we willingly give that information now

I am gay and I have this guy friend at school that I really like, but I do not know if he is gay or not. It is really hard to tell and I have got no clues. Not even a stereotypical one. He does not follow any gay person or makeup guru or fashion designer or whatever on Instagram and Facebook. He does not dress gay or wear makeup or got any gay friends. The only clues I have is that he seems to be best friends with a girl and so am I. He sometimes acts a little gay such as posing "gay" in Snapchat pictures and he often uses the word fabulous. I know my assumptions may seem very stereotypical, but there is just something about his charisma that makes him seem gay.

I've been assumed to be gay for some crazy reasons. Background to know... I'm a disabled veteran with PTSD that might have been gay from childhood but had abusive parents growing up. My 13th birthday, my dad pulled me to the side to warn me that if I ever went gay, he'd kill me. I knew that meant it. No idea if they saw something or just wanted to head off something they didn't like the idea of. Who knows? I got married at 19 years old and had 3 kids right away. Never really dated before this time. The marriage lasted 22 years before I finally filed for divorce. Also, I never cheated in the marriage. I have been divorced 10 years now and initially thought I would hurry up and remarry a woman since being married was all I knew. Ha! The dating world really sucks and I got educated FAST about women being every bit as bad as the men they complained about. Who knew? Along the way I decided to go to a mens and womens nudist resort. Got with a couple or two.... Okay, I got so much couples action that first weekend visit that I never got to sleep in my own tent. Was told several times that while good-looking and rather manly (deep voice and all), it was my approach and relaxed attitude that made me stand out from all the other single men. Basically, I'd compliment a lady on her hair or her clothes or such. I never went straight for the, "goodies". Plus I love to dance and guess I'm pretty good at it, which some ladies seem to really like. Anyways, this was also the first place I got to play with guys. Seems most of the married men who invited me to enjoy their wives, were using it as a chance to try something with me. So I explored a bit and found it all to be rather fun. Thing is, I had no idea if I was truly bisexual or leaning in any certain direction. I continued to chase women and was doing pretty well, according to my friends stunned disbelief. Again, I think it's simply my approach and lack of creppy guy attitude. Two years ago I had a nasty breakup with a gal that went stalker on me, so I gave up dating altogether. Thanks to my PTSD and issues I am working to overcome, when out in public with friends, I no longer find myself even trying to score on anyone. Nor do I find myself responding when hit on by a guy or a gal. I just have no real sexual desires at this time in my life. Not that my sex life was something I ever shared. Seeing all of this, most of my friends have assumed that this means I've gone completely gay, even knowing about my PTSD. As of today, I'm not sure what label I would put on myself but feel like it would be a waste of time to do so anyways, as people can be fluid in their sexual lives and I'm no different. Eh, people will think what they want to and there's little you can do to stop them from doing so. So, I hope this might give a slightly different perspective.

Years ago, a bisexual roommate of mine and I bumped into a gay friend of his at the cinema, and he was all bummed out about a serious crush of his, "Well, if he is straight, yada yada..." We were just both shaking our heads at the sob story. Finally, the gay friend, started paying attention to our speed bump sighs and said, "What?" We each told him, if this guy is a friend, that is what is important. The question is authenticity: Does he maybe like you in "that way" or not? Whether he is gay, bi, or straight, genuine friendship is so much better than all those shallow illusions and what amount to ego issues, trying to make his time and love available to you without taking the time to glide up on him in a sensitive way. Maneurisms? Yeah, all this round and round is enough to give you a stroke. Is love even important to young folks, any more? I never found any love connected with "hooking up", but I found a good bit of quality time with friends who eventually were okay with "benefits".

So im in a situation with a guy and we have only known each other for a year but he showed signs when we first met. Calling me daddy, touching my thigh, and smiling and looking at me. But we made different friends through the school year and grew apart until I decided to add him on my social medias. He added me back and we started talking sending drawings on sc and he told me I was beautiful. One day he was walking with me to our school bus and he kissed me on my cheek and told me he was bi but idk if he was joking or for real. So one night on facetime with my friend I tell her im going to tell him I like him. So I did but all he said was "Your not the only guy that has had a crush on me" What does that even mean? But ever since I told him that he looks at me in class, smiles at me sometimes, and sits by me for no reason but to sit by me. When I sit with our friends he stares at me but he has a girlfriend. What does this mean? Does he like me? Or is just really friendly?

Thanks dude. I'm a straight man and people ask if I'm gay all the time, especially women I'm interested in. I grew so insecure about it that I grew an intentionally ugly beard just to give off straight vibes. It may or may not have worked. I recently shaved it to move on from an ex and the issue seems to have come back. But you know what? People like you help. People who confidently and sincerely say that actions and appearance are not the cornerstones of sexuality. I find it inspiring that you really do fight for the freedom of both gay and straight men to be themselves comfortably and unapologetically.
@thenaturalpeoplesbureau3 жыл бұрын
I can totally relate to that. Im a bit bisexual, but i can only embrace, kiss, or feel for women. And because i am a bit non conformist, people assume im either gay, or what not. Both gays and women. Yes, this severely fucked with my confidence. It destroyed my selfesteem. So gay stereotypes and bi erasure basically stigmatized me, and made me and a lot of people unhappy. I prefer to not have a beard though. I want to find myself attractive. So no beard. Im not willing to pay such a price. But it comes with the cost, of some women thinking im gay. Why does nobody ever think i could be bi? Most bisexuals would never have anything with a man, besides the occasional blowjob. If they ask me if im gay, i shut my boundaries. If a gay would ask me instead if im bi, i might just give him the best head he ever had. But they never know, because they assume. Assuming about other people never works.

Now, if I see a bit too many “men’s fitness” accounts, or straight up openly gay guys they follow, them I pursue lol Let me know if this works for you 😅

Great video totally correct, my experiences straight men generally always like to talk about women, how physically attractive they are, blowing whistles on the street, seen so much of it, unless they are incredibly shy but usually if a guy isn't doing that, that is a sign they might be gay and usually are, however even if they are the other issue is they may not like you physically so you can get the brush off which is also and issue these days, just trying to make friends with other gay men can also be difficult at times.

Im bisexual, and on some days extremely masculine, on others very feminine - but im only bi in that i like to give the occasional BJ.. Other than that i have zero interest in men. But people assume things, and this makes it difficult to date. Gays hope im gay, and im not. Girls sometimes think im gay, because i behave anti cyclical and look a bit feminine. In this way the gay community has made dating for bisexuals very difficult. I cant feel anything for dudes. Nor embrace or kiss them. All my fantasies revolve around women.. And occasionally dick. So their feeling is not wrong - i love women with strapons. And i like to give head. To both. But the way gays and stright girls are socialized makes them confused about us bisexuals. Just because i reject outward superficial masculine status and symbols, does not mean im gay. Never assume, always ask. And dont ask if gay, ask if bi or gay. Then at least i have an option, and know im not wrongly categorized. Which turns me on. Knowing that you understand that other than giving blowjobs, im never interested in dudes, i can let go, and go on my knees without any fear.

Actually, that straight dude might simply be in the Closet, especially if he has no girlfriend or was never in a relationship with a woman. If they join the Church and say they have a "calling"... it's their way of continuing to be deceptive to make others believe they are spiritually straight.

I’m personally and physically awkward often mistaken as a gay guy while I’m actually 100% into women only, there hasn’t been a single time I felt myself attracted to a male as I feel for females or got involved with a male, actually the idea of hooking up with a man disgusts me. And many times my sexuality is attacked among other things such as my moral, etc cause it’s people’s interest both straight with lack of confidence and gays who are unhappy with themselves and/or wanted to hook up with me. I agree on not being the most manly guy but that doesn’t make me or anybody else gay. Not to mention there are 100% gay men who are more manly than me as not every lesbian woman being masculine, same applies to the straight universe, man and women 🤷🏻♂️

The co-worker friend l like is straight but I also suspect he is a little bit bi-curious. It's complicated because I'm married to another guy and all 3 of us work together at the same factory. The co-worker is married to a woman and has 3 young kids. I've known him for a little over a year now. And over that time he's seemed to drop hints. The biggest one was when his wife was out of town and we picked him and his two younger kids up and went to a fair in another town. At the fair there was a little indoor reptile exhibit. One of the guys showing the reptiles was obviously gay (mannerisms and voice). A week or so later at work, me and the co-worker were talking about how gay people can find women pretty and how straight people can find someone of the same sex attractive too. Then he actually said "Remember that guy showing the reptiles at the fair?" I said "Ya." Then he said "If I were gay, that's the type of guy I'd like." To me that was a huge surprise that he said that. Then what he said next was even more surprising. He said "Even my wife thinks I'm that 5 or 10% of guys." I'm not exactly sure what he was saying but I think he was saying that his wife suspects he's bi. The one in ten or 10% statistic is usually for gay men. Meaning 1 in 10 men are gay. But he's been flirty with me at times and I've watched a LOT of KZbin videos to see if my suspicions are true. And, YES, when we're on break or lunch at work I can see him checking me out from the corner of my eye. There was an incident in November of 2022 where he was off work for the whole month because his wife had a medical emergency with a severe asthma attack. She even required a breathing tube. And these are people who are only in their early 40's. After he came back to work in late November, I could tell he was really focused on his wife. But it wasn't long before I noticed him checking me out and making flirty comments again. Me and my partner also take turns giving this guy a ride home each night. Then, just recently he decided to join the local YMCA to start getting in better shape. He brought the paperwork to work with him and I honestly think it was to get me interested and to join. So during lunch one day, I went over and looked at the schedules for different classes and the sheet with the sign-up fees, etc. Then, a few days later I joined that YMCA and he seemed pretty happy. So now we are working out together. And I am also fairly certain he admires men with muscular builds. I'm stocky but I also have a muscular build. And when we talk, I can see his pupils dilate, which tells me that he likes what he's looking at. But this past week he wasn't able to make it to the gym but was keeping in contact with me via text messages. And at work he was telling me that he miss all the days this week because he and his wife are having difficulties. He said they've even been talking about the possibility of divorce! Then, just in the past day or so he's been asking my opinion on having a tattoo of his wife's name removed from his write. He started out by humorously saying he was going to get a new tattoo. Then he showed me the tattoo of his wife's name and he said "I'm thinking of putting the word "Void" there." So I'm in a really peculiar position right now. Here we are working out together at the gym and he's confiding in me that his marriage is on the rocks. And I can see tiny cues that he may be into me. And he knows that I'm attracted to him. Back in the summer of 2022 he grew a beard and was looking super hot. I think he did it to kinda fit in with me and my partner because we both have beards too. But one day he came up and we were talking at my work station. And I told him..... "Ya, when I first saw you were growing a beard, I was like "He's lookin' pretty hot!" And his response was "Ya?" He didn't seem offended at all and I could tell he took it as a compliment. After he was off work for a month and then came back, he decided to start fresh and shaved off the beard. But he still keeps a short chin beard and lets his stubble grow for a couple days each week before shaving. He's tall too..... 6' 5" and has blue eyes. And he has such a nice personality. At first I wasn't too sure because he's into outdoor stuff and likes all those survival type shows. He's actually gotten me into watching a tv series called "Alone." Where people are put on Vancouver Island in the dense forest there. And whoever is the last one remaining gets $500, 000. I'm already on season 4. So, YA, this is my big dilemma. I am so tempted to ask him if he's just a little bi-curious. But there are KZbin videos that say I should let him make the first move. Otherwise I could embarrass him. There's a good KZbin video by a guy named Patrick Morano called "How to get a straight guy." It's funny but he does make some good points. Ok, well sorry for writing so much but please let me know what you think.

Long posts like this are usually copypasta but if it's real, maybe you can also drop hints like asking about how he and his wife are doing and what he thinks about a family like yours, or jokingly say that if he was gay or bi he would also be your type. If he's divorced then invite him to dinner and stuff like that.

@@zaxele This wasn't a fake post. I just like to write in a lot of detail. A lot happened since I first wrote this message 6 months ago. The guy is an alcoholic. He went for just 6 days treatment. But his marriage was already on the rocks. Then he found out that while he was in treatment, his wife went out drinking and spent the night at a girlfriends' house and left their young kids 11, 8 and 6 home alone for the night. When he found out he got into an altercation with his wife. She called the cops. The cops slapped a restraining order on him. So then he moved in with me and my partner on the condition of no drinking or smoking weed around the house. We also were working out together at the local YMCA. He was doing good but very paranoid about his wife being on Facebook all the time. So then he started going on a couple dating apps. He met a woman a few years older than him and a bit heavy set. I tried to tell him she was just a rebound girl. But she became obsessed with him because she knew no other younger, good looking, 6' 5" tall guy would go for her. She started lending him her car for him to take to work. I nick-named the car the "boomerang" because it always ensured he returned to her. He would drive 45 minutes back to her apartment after work and started staying at our house less and less. Eventually we knew he wasn't coming back but he left some of his stuff here. He finally came and got that at the end of May this year. He's being super irresponsible. Him and this girl both quit their jobs and got jobs 90 minutes away from her apartment thinking they'd easily find a place near work. That didn't happen so they're driving 90 minutes each way to work. He called me a couple times asking me to give him a good reference if a potential landlord called. I never got a call. Since he's met this chick he drinking and smoking cigarettes again and isn't working out anymore. And he kept delaying his court case to deal with the charges the police placed against him when he had the altercation with his wife. He said he kept delaying the case to punish his wife but, it made me super angry because he was also delaying being able to see his 3 kids! He kept posting on Facebook about going on trips with this new girl and meanwhile he hadn't seen his kids in over 3 months! He's a loser, a deadbeat dad, an alcoholic and using this chick to live rent-free and use her car. I've lost any attraction to him. Besides he told me he's 100% straight. I blocked him on my phone and Facebook and hope I never see him ever again. I just feel so bad for his 3 kids though. They are gonna grow up to resent their dad. Especially the oldest, who had just come "out" as bi-sexual. He tried defending his mom during the altercation and his dad raised his fist to him and told him to "back off." So the wife told the cops that and there was a restraining order from being able to see his oldest son too. So now I can see some part of his oldest son feeling like his dad left because he came out as being bi-sexual.

@@jamieb9168 (I also tend to type a lot but many ppl told me it's too long so I'm pretty sensitive about it.) ugh those alcoholic. My father is one of them. They're always the abusive one. My mother and I have been traumatized by him, mentally and physically, so much that we swore we'd never let him go back to live together again. One of my closest friends has the exact same story with his family and the alcoholic/abusive father. I feel so sorry for that guy's family and you, but if that's the road they chose, they can't be helped, unless they want to do it voluntarily, because drinking and smoking can really damage the brain, and it's very dangerous if we force them into rehab. The outcome would have been so much better and different if they weren't willing to destroy themselves like that, in an ideal world the three of you would have been a company. You're awesome and decent. I wish you all the best.
