@Billyfishing_watch ice is just starting to form here. I haven't caught a fish in like 6 weeks. I am going through withdrawals lol. Muskie are just like pike, slightly bigger than the Canadian variety but arguably about the same size as the biggest European pike.
@Billyfishing_watch8 ай бұрын
@differentfins Now, are you sure Joe! The European record is just over 50 lbs. I thought muskies were much bigger?
@differentfins8 ай бұрын
@Billyfishing_watch no not really. The WR muskie used to be 69 pounds then it was debunked, then the 67 pound record was debunked, the current official record in 65 pounds and that is controversial. In last decade or so several pike in Italy especially have been topping 50 pounds and many of them look as big as our muskies. Muskies may be bigger on paper but we are talking a few pounds and only a couple inches longer.

Happy to see you use and call rig as it should be, dingle dangle. Amount of times l hear/see all this, oh new latest rig dongle nonsense blows my mind, their not even rigging them correctly, my personal opinion obviousy but its well backed up. Snelled is the only way for big baits and big fish, and thats it. Is how circle hooks were designed to work as you well know. This alternative idea, loop knot connection is non starter for me, be it mono or steel. . So anyways rant over, l dont comment often, but pleased to see your content still has remained solid and interesting, also informative. Hi Billy glad to see you are safe and well You never disappoint with your videos they give a true insight into what fishing is all about .. The advice for people who intend to fish in the artic circle is without any doubt invaluable to them.. Many times I have witnessed people buying tackle that is of no use to them especially in Norwegian waters.. They are sold tackle by people who have never fished outside of the UK. When you ask them why they advised people to buy tackle that is of no use to them. A shrug of the shoulder and an answer of we have to get rid of the stock.. So with this being said billy keep putting out videos of what tackle should be used.by people ..and how to use it.properly.. Anyway billy keep yourself safe and well .

Nice. You should consider trying for one on a lightish lure rod. A great fight on light tackle When I lived in San Francisco I used to get Pacific Halibut from the shore on bucktails with a plastic curly tail attached. Fished really slow. Hi Billy, I see you use grapnel sinkers, are the bottoms sandy with strong currents? Would a cone sinker, do as well? Great videos, I'm in Cape Town South Africa, so am familiar with the dingle dangle, perhaps if you put a bit of flotation in the heart of the bait it may lift it off the bottom and give it more action? Keep up the good work!
@Billyfishing_watch6 ай бұрын
Hi bud. There is a current, but it's not particularly strong. The problem with using the cone sinkers is, the angle of elevation where I'm fishing from is very steep. The water is 30 m deep, so I have to use a grip wire. I have put float in the baits before but it does not seem to make any difference. So far environmental reasons I choose not to use it.
