I have two liners from handbag angels, one with a base shaper for my Mulberry Anthony, and one for my Loewe Puzzle. The one for my Anthony is perfect, the one for my Puzzle is nearly perfect - I asked for a bottle holder in that (not for a bottle which would be too tall, but for my sunglasses) and that works great, but the liner is very slightly too long - it still works though, and as I ordered it to be delivered to my parents in the UK before an upcoming trip home, I decided not to go to the hassle of getting it replaced. They are great quality for the price, and I don't regret buying either.

Hi Lydia this is how I make hummus and it is delicious 😋 (15-ounce) can chickpeas.I take the skin off, it’s time consuming but it’s worth it. 1/4 cup (60ml) fresh lemon juice 1/4 cup (60ml) well-stirred tahini 1 small garlic clove, minced 2 tablespoons (30ml) extra-virgin olive oil 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin Salt to taste 2 to 3 tablespoons (45ml) water In the bowl of a food processor, combine the tahini and lemon juice and process for 1 minute. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl, then process for 30 seconds more. This extra time helps “whip” or “cream” the tahini, making the hummus smooth and creamy. Add the olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, and a 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the whipped tahini and lemon juice. Process for 30 seconds, scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl, and then process for another 30 seconds or until well blended. Add half of the chickpeas to the food processor and process for 1 minute. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl, then add the remaining chickpeas and process them until thick and relatively smooth, 1 to 2 minutes. The hummus will likely be too thick and still have tiny bits of chickpea. To fix this, slowly add 2 to 3 tablespoons of cold water with the food processor turned on until you reach the perfect consistency. Enjoy ❤

The thing that always gets me when topics of healthy foods pop up is that I've always wondered why people say that food that is good for us, is mostly out of reach for people with less money. For me it's always been better to make my own stuff but at the same time cooking most items from scratch is a very time consuming task. I work from home and I don't have any children which means I *have* the time to do so. We also live in a village in which we are not able to order fast food to (via popular apps) as they just don't travel here. We are surrounded by farms and local produce and we tend to shop straight from their local shops and stalls (along the roadside). Buying vegetables is not expensive if you buy in season. Buying strawberries is expensive in the dead of winter but if you go pick your own when they're in season (which I do) and then preserve them (some airfryers now have a freeze drying option and information about freeze drying can easily be found on the internet), you don't have to spend a fortune on them in winter. But, again, it's a rather time consuming task. My partner had a takeaway curry the other night and it made him feel out of sorts for a few days yet if I make him a curry from scratch, at home, he never feel out of sorts. Yes, organic meats *are* expensive and the same goes for eggs but I've always followed the rule that if I can't afford it, I just won't eat it. This is especially true for poultry - if I can afford a corn-fed chicken, I won't have chicken that week. I swear to you, a meat-free roast tastes just as good and you'll feel less heavy without shoving a load of cheap meat down your thrapple. So, in my experience (being almost 55 I believe I've earnt the right to spout on about experience), if you set aside time to cook your meals from scratch and look into food preserving, you *can* make a difference to your wellbeing and you might even find that it's not that difficult. Learn how to cook the basics - when I grew up, there was no such thing as 'an internet' and it always amazes me how a generation who has everything at their fingertips, are mostly so inept when it comes to cooking food - learn how to preserve (again, use the internet!) and, above all, learn your kids how to because if it's something that they'll take with them, and thank you for, it's how they were taught how to cook and how to take care of themselves. Above all - make sure you have balance in your life. A burger here and there isn't going to kill you - nor is a pizza - but they taste *so* much better when you've prepared them yourself.

I have had stomach issues since I was really joung, I am 20 now, and I have cut out tonds of ingredients, like gluten, sugar or dairy. Lovely video. I enjoy the health and food content, as I have gotten into healthier living. I have more knowledge but consistent practice is far from perfect. The easiest thing I do is fats, butter, olive oil, a bit of avocado and coconut oil at least on hand. No seed oils or vegetable oils, that includes sunflower oil. Those are highly inflammatory, highly processed and made from byproducts of other manufactured goods. A way to make money off of everything. Problem they are in everything because they’re cheap. So use olive oil to make your mayo. Blessings

It’s wonderful that you are using your platform to highlight the amount of highly processed ingredients are in seemingly healthy foods. One thing to be aware of are your oils . Most of them are over processed and carcinogenic, the best oils to use are coconut oil, cold press virgin olive oil, and ghee.

I have been eating organic and avoiding UPFs / reducing chemical load on my body for about a year due to health issues. And it’s so hard. Not to mention expensive. Even to find good quality produce that’s labelled correctly is difficult. It’s a land mine so we just do the best we can. I guess shopping in smaller independent/ direct from farms has helped the most but the convenience compromise is difficult with a full life!

Very interested in your lifestyle changes (particularly food swaps) - I have been trying something similar for almost a year since a unexpected diagnosis in our family. There are some things we have very little control over in life, but the food we put into our bodies is one thing we can control. A gentle suggestion from someone with a scientific background - 'chemicals' are not bad! We, and everything in the world including our food, are all made of chemicals! Just something to potentially keep in mind when you discuss this in future vlogs, as I hope you continue to do :)

Loved the pantry something to dream of - we only eat sourdough bread everything else is processed - I make cakes with oats/almond flour - nut butters - save all the jam jars for food storage and feed all food scrapes to the chickens!!! Explore juice making fruits and veg mixed great start to the day - cloves/ginger tea - make all my own humus - roast my own garlic - easy to do when you get in the groove. Also you may like to explore the benefits of castor oil. Have a great week.

Can I just say thanks for starting your talk about UPF by saying that the ability to focus on diet this was involved privilege of money and time, and that it is therefore out of reach of many people. Lydia taking us grocery shopping, what a treat! Would love to see more of that :) I’m really into UP-free diet and I try to always consider it, however I find myself falling through the cracks from time to time. Seeing this video from you motivates me to be track better! The whole topic really fascinates me, it’s bizarre how much of our food is processed nowadays. Also something to note for the readers, there’s a bunch of tik tok videos going around saying that seed oils are very processed and bad for you, however there’s not actually much science backing this up. I think! Please share if otherwise. But social media can be so toxic when it comes to food industry because there’s so much information going on, which may or may not be true.

The rice though is in plastic which goes in the microwave which you want to avoid (micro plastics into your food - which disrupt hormones) also tin foil in the oven isn't great as it leeches aluminium into your food. Hi Lydia, Since you and Ali are trying to eat more Healthy foods, I wanted to mention that I was surprised you were using Sunflower oil for your Mao, which by the way is a great idea… to make your own, because mao is usually made with some kind of bad oil. Refined omega 6 seed oils such as canola, soybean, corn, peanut, sunflower, safflower, vegetable and rapeseed oil when consumed create inflammation. They are linked to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) which comes from the cell membrane of gram-negative bacteria. I think from what I’ve learned (I’m also trying to learn better choices) a high quality virgin olive oil or avocado oil might be better for us.

You are absolutely right . In my part of the world, we have the finest olive oil you could lay hands on , and naturally, I depend on it in my cooking a lot , but when it comes to certain dishes olive oil doesn’t work at all, and I need neutral oils with no flavor so I use sunflower oil , which is not healthy , and I feel guilty for using it. They say grape seed oil is a healthy alternative so is avocado oil, but they are not available where I live .

Top tip on making mayonnaise use light in colour olive oil it’s better than sunflower and. It’s not as strong as other olive oil it taste divine also. For hair if you have one hair colour all over like dark it would make the roots look better when in the wind. I love you dark anyways with your beautiful blue eyes. ❤

Hi, I’m new to trying to live a more UPF free life too, but from my learnings I believe seed oils like sunflower, are supposedly very highly inflammatory. Just thought I’d share the knowledge 🥰

Glad you are taking a healthier approach to your diet and life. I would suggest you stay away from seed oils (sunflower, rapeseed, etc) they are very inflammatory. Try avocado oil or a different type instead. 😊

Arabic hummus: a cup of chickpeas (boiled until pureed with a spoonful of salt), a quarter cup of tahini, a spoonful of olive oil, a spoonful of mustard, a spoonful of lemon. Garlic I don’t like fresh, it upsets my stomach. I like to add three roasted garlic.

Thank you for this - adore the addition of tahini, can I ask if this exact recipe comes on the loose/runny texture or on the firmer side…. I can’t seem to get the texture right? 🥗

Hi Lydia, I just want to say I really appreciate your consciousness of your situation vs. other's and your awareness of your privilege and how you talk about all that. I've only recently discovered you and it has inspired me to make a teeny bit more of an effort with myself, because your content have helped me internalise that I do deserve that, actually. The vlog was absolutely lovely and I enjoyed it a lot. Kind regards, Julie, Denmark, 32

I think we’re all just doing our best. I’m someone that usually assumes people are aware of their privilege I don’t really need them to say it out loud for me, but I understand it means a lot to others so I do. But I’m so happy to hear you have found this useful I’m hoping you enjoy this journey 🤍

Just fyi - the Twinings valerian tea has flavourings (albeit 'natural flavourings' but they're still not telling us what they are). Pukka has a valerian nighttime tea that doesn't. You inspired me to start looking at my groceries list again and I've already found some E numbers in things that I would never have expected - argh! xx

I feel like we have the sameish hair! My hair is curly but fine and I have lots! Sensitive scalp. 2 crowns so I have a flat back of head, takes 1.5 hours to airwrap and then falls out 🫠 Yet I have to style it as that styled blowout suits me most. Glad I'm not alone in the hair pain haha.

Lydia I am loving your videos from Malibu, California! I also love a good food shop at our bougie markets. Eating clean is a game changer. I am going to be 62 in September and the study of Blue Zones, longevity, and gut health are my passion. MY intolerable digestion issues were the reason I ended up down this road. God Bless you! by the way, I make my own clean hummus every week and it only takes 10 minutes!

If you want to go down a rabbit hole, start researching the chemical processes that go into just the tea bags alone...not the contents of the tea, I mean the material that holds the tea in its bag. Always go for loose leaf tea...

Even making one loaf per week for the weekend, 5 ingredients compared to supermarket loaves, it’s a game changer really. Have just made 2 tweaks to my diet too which I know isn’t much, but it’s a start 🎉. Would love you to do more food changes and Waitrose food checks on your vlogs too, loved that !! Btw, combining Caudalie foam with the cream cleanser is glorious !!

You should never eat dry chia seeds, only pre-swelled. Otherwise they swell in your digestive system. My daughter suffered a burst appendix, caused by a chia seed blockage.

Really interesting your life change when it comes to nutrition. Basically, I was always drawn to whole foods, but as you say, it is not that easy. But when you buy tea you really should look at the quality. Rip the tea bags open and if you see that there is just dust and fannings you should change the brand. I have realized that Twinings and other big brands offer very poor quality especially when it come to black teas. So I do not know about the varieties you bought for Ali, but please check the tea as well. Even if it is not processed there are also big differences in quality. Also, it should be organic so that you can be sure that no pesticides have been sprayed of the tea plants.

I totally agree about the Launer bag being classy, quiet luxury. I feel like all the Hermes bags, as classic and beautiful as they are, have been so heavily "trending" that they are actually starting to give me me the ick a little bit. However Hermes is a heritage brand and these bags have been around for a long time, so hopefully this wave will pass and they will continue to stand the test of time!

I’m not someone who has health issues or considered upfs but I think the one thing I will change is what oils I use from reading all the helpful comments. As some have said changing everything is not an option for some like myself, as the non processed foods (even those that arn’t ‘unhealthy’) are affordable and the clean ones unfortunately are not accessible for everyone. As a histaminintolerant myself I went over the same process with grocery shopping. It was infuriating at first, I could never imagine that there are so many added things till I had to check the labels. But this was the most lucky thing happened to me since I was forced to live healthy and I will never go back. The difference is just unbelievable. Enjoy the journey 😊
