Thank you for taking the time to make videos on this project. 😃 Agree, if grew up with a smaller home, you know how to live in one. I grew up in an early 1940s house, about 1000 square feet, galley kitchen, three bedrooms, one bathroom, and when brother and sister visited, there was six people in there. I used to live in a large house, never again, too much to care for and doesn't feel comfortable. Cheers, Adriel

Thank you, I was the guy who went to church my whole childhood, went here and there, went back to church because of my wife then “the virus” closed churches so we stopped. I only had a loose cultural connection to Christianity then one day picked up a Bible for no good reason and started reading it. Despite having plenty of church and knowing the stories it was as if i was reading it for the first time and had an almost crushing impact. It was bizarre and I can’t explain it but other people that have had it happen to them understand exactly what i mean and just nod their heads and laugh when i tell them. Any time i speak with people on the topic my main thing i push is to read the Bible. Im at my best when I read it and noticeably worse off when I don’t. I’ve read the New Testament in full and jump around in it continually. Currently working my way through the Old Testament. I have the Blue Letter Bible app. At home I read an ESV readers bible. No chapter or verse numbers, reads like a novel, easier to read in long sessions and follow the story. Thank you for the comment, always encouraging.

A beautiful job of making the house both more attractive and more structurally sound. That will keep it solid for years. Personally I would have added a drop edge molding. For a topic I am interested in your opinion of older people doing remodeling and home improvements. My husband and I have been married 50 years this October and we have owned seven houses. We are both handy and remodeled them all, some needed more work than others. Friends and family do not think we should do another one (ages 69 and 72) but we kind of have the bug. We did just have the Amish build us a garage but we are doing the electric and inside finishing. I feel like you are a kindred spirit and when you are old you will still be taking care of your properties. I guess people, mostly our kids, feel like we can afford to not work so hard but I don't see the point to hiring things done that we could do ourselves. Maybe we are perfectionists but you try harder on your own house.

My dad is in the age range of you and your husband and has retired to pursue his dream of flipping houses and selling them at prices affordable for first time buyers. He is fit and healthy, so I'm not very worried about him beyond the danger of unexpected accidents. He's the sort that needs to have a hands-on project he's working on. So I think as long as you and your husband are taking care of your health I think it's fine to continue remodeling and doing home improvements until your doctor(s) says it's getting risky.

Not sure, but I hope when you talk about $3K per month you are talking net, not gross. My situation - retired, 3 rental single families, syndicated in two multi-families, a small pension, and Social Security. The last two only happen if you worked for a company that even offered a pension (rare these days) and an age requirement before collecting the government dole. All that said, I think you are on the right track. You gain wealth with every property, and I don't see how any of that conflicts with your values. Good luck, and I'll keep watching!

You will spend a lot of time getting things started but you will be surprised when you hit an inertia level where it starts being self sustaining. The big boost will come when you get the sawmill building and the attached workshop finished. The lumber you have set aside to dry. Not to mention the three houses you have in progress. It would be nice to just wave your magic wand and have them finished but you will really be thankful that you took the slow cashflow approach when you are done and not be paying for them forever. Better to be working for you and not the bank.

That is what we are supposed to do, make hay while the sun shines, so that when it doesn't you have enough to support you. You have done really well to be able to work for yourself and you share it with us and hopefully make money from it to support yourself and your family. You have the skills to work for an employer if you need to and if you wanted to you could do so for a time to build up your reserves if you wanted to do it faster...or you could just post more videos because we enjoy them and that helps you.
