Interesting choices in music. Begin with easy Hillbilly twang and end with light classical sound.

Woodshop style you get a c- Going to all the trouble in making this slap together, you should have went ahead a made it a beautiful piece of furniture with the proper measurements to fit the space. If I rented the house, I'd want you to remove it.

I'd love to see you build a closed cabinet island like you had before in that house. It was really nice.

Beautiful island. I’m just a girl with minimal experiences with lots of things. I did buy myself a wood lathe that I haven’t used yet for my birthday. Do you have the plans how to turn the legs? What’s a good beginner project to start with the lathe? I really want to make bowls and cake stands. I’d be interested in seeing you make end tables, shelves for canning items, windows, working louvered shutters, storm windows, screen doors, bed frames, nut crackers. I’m like you and do a little of everything, so storage shelves for tools that we use, drywall tools, tile tools, simple wood working tools, work table. Things like that. Anyways. That’ll be all. Hugs to you and your family. Praying for everyone that was affected by the hurricanes and tornados.

I love your woodworking shed! Is the woodworking shed in the basement or off sight?
@homemadehome55753 күн бұрын
I used to do my woodworking in this house. My shop was in the basement, but since we moved, I am without a Woodworking shop and getting this house ready to rent. I removed my tools from the basement and have them temporarily stored with some of them set up in this barn, it is temporary until I build my woodshop addition onto my sawmill building.

I think I would loose the staircase altogether, in the back of the house. The slope is quite scary to me. I would do something on one of the sides, as far as a exit & patio. Could you replace the basement windows with glass block like the bathroom?

I’ve always been creative and compelled to do it. My favorite thing to do outside of riding my bike was making things when i was a boy. Forts with stick furniture, bird houses, bows/arrows, etc.

The table is nice. Although, I would place it the other way so as not to impede with the placement of the living room furniture. I also would have made it a little smaller for proper flow through the home. That’s just my opinion I’m sure the people who live there will make it work to their liking.

This is awesome. Most of what I watch on youtube is furniture building and what I love most about your videos is that it's so realistic and focused on value. Sure, I love seeing someone build something that is absolutely perfect (as far as I can tell at least), but that's not usually reality. You show building something in a reasonable amount of time with the tools that you have and realistic materials. It's beautiful, at least a little better that what I can usually do, but still realistic and focused on the value it's going to provide whoever gets to use it (rather than the instagram post). I'd love to see more content like this!

You are truly an army of one - so capable with all the trades making this house into an asset that will help build generational wealth for your family. Noting that you have now spent five years on this project and you have the house next door and the "farm house" two doors down, you may need to consider an increase delegating work as you did with the wallboard. It may be the point where you consider a time versus money analysis. Your time is valuable and a small mortgage on the house may be justified to free more of your time and earning rental income sooner. I'm looking forward to the completion of the $9,000 house, the $2,000 house/mill, the "farm house" and your first home which is now going to be another rental house. Don't overwhelm yourself.

I had this wood milled about 8-9 years ago. It was a video using my red sonoma, a rusty trailer and an electric winch to drag the logs into the trailer. I think called urban logging.

Very nice island, that will be useful in a small kitchen. My daughter, son in law and two cats have been staying with me in Southern Illinois for over a week due to living in a mandatory evacuation area in South Florida, but they were smart and left early. They are just waiting to hear power is back on and gas stations have gas.

Love the American-made tools you use! We got a lot of the hurricane rain, too, but thankfully little damage overall. The rain was welcome because we've been experiencing a drought all summer. It's so good to see you making tables - this is what you were doing when I first found your channel. For what it's worth, I'd turn the island table sideways. Take that with a grain of salt, please! God bless you and your family.
