Hi Amisha. We , family of 3, plan to go Melbourne in 4 months. without any rental history , i have heard its difficult to get a rental. Is there any way around ? Getting shared accommodation with a 2 yr old may become very difficult. please suggest.

Honestly it is a bit difficult to find a home initially without any rental history. It’ll be convenient if you can find some friends or relatives here that might help you.

However if there’s nobody to help you, then you can find inspections online on real estate and Facebook marketplace. Things will surely work out somehow.

Hi , I'm also arriving Melbourne this month in Latrobe uni , I wanted to ask will I be able to get a accomodation outside with decent facilities? Because my Uni is offering accomodation for 190$ a week including everything inside the campus so should I go for it or will I be able to find a better house outside?

La Trobe accomodations are nice and good, however it can be a bit expensive and you can find something outside as well. But as a fresher you won’t get a house without any payslips, it’s just a bit difficult. You can easily find sharing houses tho, where you have your own room and then sharing kitchen. I’d suggest you to come here, look for different accomodations and then decide what suits you the best!
