I forgot to list the music I was listening to on the airplane. Both albums were by Marconi Union. You can pick any of their albums randomly, they're all good. As it turned out they didn't ask for either a Covid test or proof of vaccination at customs. But they did require proof of accommodation and an onward flight. They want those printed out, otherwise you have to send them in an email. The evisa was $51. The whole customs process took about 45 minutes or so, not too bad. I'm still not sure if the taxi ride was a ripoff, but considering that it was a 90 minute ride that isn't so bad. Likely that the real local price is less.
@inspyr9 Жыл бұрын
You definitely paid a lot more than usual for the taxi Gabriel. An Uber usually charges 500tk to the airport, rush hour maybe 800-900tk. I can't believe you went to Bangladesh; it could be the worst country you will visit. I know because I was born there. Some pointers: Gulshan is the nicest place in Dhaka, try some fuchka from one of the street vendors in Baily rd, other cities are a little less congested like Rajshahi and Chittagong. If you are into archeology and stuff, you can check out Sonargaon Panam city, Paharpur and moinamoti. If you like nature, go to the places like Bandarban, Rangamati, Shitakundu etc. In Dhaka, you can check out the Parliament building, military museum etc.
@AzamTravels Жыл бұрын
When you go back to the airport, try doing uber. If not, take a CNG(tuk tuk) should be 600-1000tk easily.

I was born and raised in Chittagong. I used to travel to Dhaka and Khulna during my summer break when I was in school. I left my home after graduating high school (GCE A level) and have only been back home twice in the last 12 years. It's been 8 years since my last trip. Things have changed a lot since the 90s and even the early 2000s. My family doctor is from Bangladesh & graduated from a medical school from that country.He is highly qualified and I consider myself fortunate to be a patient of his medical practice. In Indian restruants in Toronto you find many workers who are originally from Bangladesh. I find some of the most hospitable people are from the country you are now travelling.
