Great video Great to travel long term. I want to do the same because of the excitement of new places. Sometimes the daily routine at home can be boring so traveling is always a new surprise. Google Maps don't work in some countries because foreign countries don't want to provide sensitive data. Technology is great these days because 30 years ago, we could not travel like today. We used to rely on paper maps and can't translate a foreign language. How do you determine whether to stay at hotel, air bnb or hostel?

Thank you. I agree, technology has made it much easier to navigate the world. I usually prefer Airbnb apartments if I am staying in a city for over a week, but I am very picky. Most of the time, I choose hotels if Airbnb accommodations don’t meet my standards. Airbnb can be hit or miss; sometimes I get lucky, and sometimes I don’t. I have never tried hostels.

Do you track how many miles you walked? That was a long day and must be at least 22,000 steps or 9 miles.

It was about 19720 steps according to my phone health app.

So strange that the cards don't work at the airport when folks just arrive in the country...wonder why they have it set up that way??

It is hit or miss. Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don’t, based on what people have reported on the Reddit forum. Unfortunately, it did not work for me. There was nothing wrong with my card; it worked in the city center using the ATM from the same bank I tried at the airport. It is obviously a poor system that nobody seems willing to fix.

Interesting…you and another vlogger I follow are both in S. Korea at the same time. He’s shown/reported a totally different experience…the Koreans were very welcoming and helpful to him. He’s also a tall German dude. From my understanding, in general, Koreans look more favorable to the lighter skin foreigners/people. Colorism is real. Sad.

It is true. Koreans look more favorable to the lighter skin people. I knew that based on my research before visiting Seoul, but I decided to visit it anyway because it is too close to Japan and the flight ticket was just $65 USD. The good news is that I am only in South Korea for just 1 month and I have no plan or desire to extend my stay or revisit.

Of course colorism is real. Even in Japan they discriminate their own with darker skin color like those from Okinawa island.

@@jjman533 From my personal experience during a two-month stay and a previous visit to Japan, I never faced colorism. People were very kind and helpful to me, even though I’m not white. Colorism might exist in Japan, but it doesn’t seem as common as in some other countries.

You are saying the opposite. Seoul has much more nature and parks and trees than Tokyo. This is also proven by statistical data. But there seems to be more shopping in Japan
