Thanks for showing your issue with the coolant cap on turbo line and admitting that you made a mistake. I think most people would not have showed their mistakes at all. That's pretty cool of you. Sorry to hear about your truck. Glad it kinda got fixed. It’s crazy to hear that you have had more than 1 pickup. Wow. When I got out of the service I bought my 06 5.9 cummins cash. And I still have it. No issues, tuned with efi live small little lift kit. I’m hoping to put at least 1,000,000 miles on it. Anyways back to your video. Same thing happened to my 2018 L5P. I bought a pack of vinyl vaccum caps from auto store & put two of them on with some hose clamps. Mine been running fine for 5 months now. I keep extra caps, clamps, & coolant just in case 🤷🏾‍♂️😎😁

You should deff route it to your coolant reservoir... its better that way so the coolant can keep circulating through the turbo and isn't just sitting in your turbo and boiling

You might have an issue running the steel pipe back to resi, steel line is a little smaller diameter and I believe that’s why I blew the cap off mine the first time. I have an 18 so my cap went on the tee though

Capping that line caused high pressure to build up because the coolant couldn't flow through the hot turbo. When the coolant started to boil and the phase change from water to steam happened it made the rubber cap blow off. Not to mention the cap ripped right at the hose clamp which tells us it was probably overtightened. All in all it's a good thing it did so you could correct the real issue of capping off your turbo's coolant return line! If you had left it alone or that cap not of blown off you would have been slowly cooking your turbo degrading it and had a slow coolant loss from steam pressure escaping out of your coolant cap.

Definitely route the coolant line back so your turbo will keep cooler. It has to flow, don't cap it.

Coolant leak after party mode on a L5P is like a right of passage 🤣I had one at my upper coolant pipe, then the firewall connection and then most recently near the thermostat. Finally ran a pressure test and we Gucci now

So it looks like you blocked the coolant flow through the turbo, right? What other systems do you damage by changing them without understanding how they were designed and should work? All that money you are saving on DEF and diesel fuel will seem like nothing compared to chasing your tail and fixing what you damage. What if that dead head had not failed? How long would that turbo have lasted? Looks like your friend there might know. This is entertaining and will grow your channel for sure, your truck project is certainly the catalyst to do that.

The line you capped needs to be returned to tank. You are dead heading coolant at the turbo that’s why the cap blew. 17-19 put that cap on the feed line that has a tee on it

Yeah I had the same issue on my 18, second time I turned it up I blew the cap off. Ran a short piece of hose and got a barbed plug and seems to be good now. Amazing they haven’t changed the solution and keep selling the garbage cap with it

If coolant goes in on one side it needs to exit and flow out to water pump in or back to recovery tank not dead head do to pressure.....

Cruise Control Functions. Turn off the cruise control and you can set it 1,2,3,4 or 5. Turn it on, and you can set the cruise control.

You do not re route that to the coolant tank at all / that turbo needs the coolant to it ... I have a deleted 2020 first and only in New Mexico. And have to get a ( T line connector ) to connect it to that re route

Distilled water and deionized water aren't the same. 50/50 is mixed with deionized water, which is why it's so expensive. You should research the difference.
