For fight purposes, like if you switch into MMA, it’s crucial to have that survival skill. Like you said “just not get submitted.” For bjj tournaments you might want to think of some traps to set up. Flow around and conserve energy, then if he takes the bait, explode into a submission. But even if there’s no substitute for hard work, gotta enjoy those vacations and time with family bro! Thanks for the great content. Came for the UFC gameplay, staying now for the grappling. You can branch out into other content too for sure. Your mind definitely works analytically, and you bring a great deal of charisma too.

Hey brother, congrats on the blue and on this tournament! Closed Guard is one of my fav positions, I'm lucky to have began learning it from day 1 at my school. I noticed at @21:58 you had a chance for an arm drag. Super deadly move that opens up the back or sweeps! Great content, love the commenting and narration. Best of luck with your shoulder and in your BJJ journey!

Thank you! Closed guard is something I've neglected a lot because De La Riva and X guard and single leg X and all that is so much more fun. But I'm now realizing, that it's probably one of the best guards ever in BJJ and I'm done neglecting it.

@14:45 when he goes from mount to knee on belly, you only get points if you improve your position and you need to establish the position for 3 seconds. So improving positions go from knee on belly > mount > back. You don’t gain points from going back > mount > knee belly. You can jump back and forth from mount and knee on belly and gain points from mount only as long as you establish 3 second control in each position.

Love that you're sharing this journey with us. just my 2 cents with love, I suggest you get the surgery. Recovery times are for the average, not the dedicated. i would bet that you would come back stronger and better much faster than you think. sharpen all your tools right. mind, BODY and soul. plus the recovery will have many valuable lessons it can teach as well. best of luck with whatever you chose my man. either way i love watching your journey and wish you the best.

Thank you for sharing your outside life with us as well as your gaming content, seeing you as a person striving to achieve your goals and be a father is inspiring truly. Secondly as I have said before and others who enjoy your channel, don't apologize for your daughter man, as someone whose kids have disabilities I learned the hard way you don't have to apologise for your kid being a kid, enjoy it and we enjoy I because it goes faster than you think. Sorry for the long message lol, p.s. don't put off surgeries, the younger you are when you get it taken care of the better chance of recovery.

You did very well for your first blue belt competition. As you train more, you will improve your endurance and your technique. If you want to really test your skills then try a submission only competition after you have been a blue belt for a couple of months, if you can find one near you. With the submission only format and the way that some of these competition do not limit the amount of time a match goes for, the outcome of the match will come down to your endurance and your skills instead of a referee's calls which are sometimes questionable.

My only gripe with point based tournaments is besides the triangle in the first match you didn’t attempt any subs. Most people just look for positions for points. While you’re knee slicing into side control the darce is always there. Good stuff though, good control on top and good composure on bottom.
