What a brilliant idea, jumping a straw bale, soft to hit, easy, it doesn't move and horses are used to seeing it. really nice idea, might try that myself. ^_^

You looked incredible while jumping! I hope to jump like that soon! Working on my canter but can't seem to hold myself down like in a sitting trot.
@miloandmorgan886910 жыл бұрын
What works in sitting trot is keep a slow rythem and really sit in the saddle the technique i find that works is if you lift up your legs like sitting like a jockey u will feel more in the seet then try trot but keep your heels down that helps alot
@miloandmorgan886910 жыл бұрын
Ofcorse put ur feet back down lol
@sazjh10 жыл бұрын
Hi, i have been riding for nearly a year now, and I had trouble keeping my balance during canter until yesterday I didn't loose balance at all once. I find that always looking straight ahead and leaning back slightly really helps staying the seat. also for sitting trot, just let everything relax, lean back a bit and feel like your feet are pulling you to the floor. This is what my instructor told me. Yesterday I had my first jumping lesson and trust me you will be fine if your on a safe horse and have an amazing instructor like I do 😊 dont forget to believe in yourself, because once you have confidence then you can do it 😊

@Jasmine Newton You have to have contact with your horse (don't know how they say that in English xd), but that's like holding tight but not pulling. When you're going to jump or go over poles you have to give him some space to see it, maybe I didn't do that enough but my instructor kept telling me that I have to have more contact and that was new for me, because normally have my reins not that thight (but he knows what he's talking about). But thanks :)

Awesome! The progression of your jump position is amazing. I noticed that if I think about tipping at the hip instead of pushing my shoulders forward I tend to stay with the horse's motion a bit better, if that helps for future rides at all =) Also, and of course I never rode that horse, but it seemed your lower leg was a bit unsteady- OR, you had to continuously kick on. If you weren't asking for more forward momentum, considering quieting it a bit and allowing your lower leg to wrap a bit more to give you a better base. Again, absolutely amazing first jump lesson and I hope any suggestions I made, if you find them applicable, help =)
