My first kayak tournament of 2024 : Duck River Reservoir

Fishing with the "Cullman Kayak Anglers" club is something I truly cherish. Some of these guys could easily move on to the next level and fish for a living if they chose to. This video will show how I fished this derby and tell how I finished. It started out the most beautiful day in the world and then the wind...well you'll see.

Good day my man! I had my first tournament of 2024 @ Gulf State Park last weekend and it was the same kind of situation. Beautiful morning followed by a brutal and dangerous afternoon. I quit a couple of hours early for safety reasons because Shelby Lake doesn't have any coves or areas to escape the wind / waves. So I feel for you.

Most of my buddies have spot lock on their rigs which helps a lot. I don't have that luxury. Tight lines bro.

I went that day too in my boat. Glad I have a spot lock trolling motor. We got into so schooling fish up river and had a good time. Caught a spot close to 4 lbs on a jerk bait. I love you videos. I told my cousin, I don’t see how those kayak guys are even able to stay in any spot the way the wind blew. Good luck on the next one

I think some of my viewers like it better if they can't see me 😂. That's one of a few reasons I don't do tournaments...I hate wind & I can't be in my yak more than about 4 hrs. 62" is a really good entry. Better safe than sorry
