One of the biggest flaws in the film; that this wasn't made apparent enough. So that relatively few got it, and even less during the actual film. The scepter (which has a secret that helps to explain its effects much later down the MCU line) influences the minds of the Avengers in the room. Related to how Loki used it to capture the minds of Hawkeye etc. earlier. In this case, as you say, it makes them less rational and prone to anger. In order, primarily to bring out the Hulk, but also to hopefully prevent the team from forming properly.

Bruce Banner was recast because Edward Norton, the actor who played him in The Incredible Hulk movie, was having creative differences. He kept trying to rewrite the script, and Kevin Feige didn't like the changes Norton suggested.

Seeing Marvel (Disney) for who they are now, in hindsight Edward Norton didn't want to turn Hulk into an absolute joke. Avengers is when Disney had taken over and that's also why it looks COMPLETELY different from every other film in Phase 1. They opted to capitalize on dollars (from the little kids) than to make quality films 😢

Norton wanted more story control than Marvel was willing to give to an actor. Opted to capitalize than to make quality movies? most Marvel movies were great until the end of phase 3, then it went downhill since they lost vision of their future. Some series became even better, Winter Soldier was leagues above First Avenger, Thor Ragnarok was waaaay better than Thor 1 and 2. Hulk movies were all dogshit. The only series that got worse over time was Iron Man. Guardians were great, first antman too. And they were good movies, which is why they made fckton of money, the movies after phase 3 are mostly crap, which is why they dont do well in box office. U just yappin bro

Loki has the extra physical strength because he is a god. He's now fighting normal people who are much weaker. The blasts from the spear were from the Tesseract. Hawkeye is an expert at bow and arrow. Thats his power. Tony Stark is a genius. He is always finding faults or ways to improve his suits and makes new ones to fix it.

And there's so many subtle improvements that Tony makes learning from past movies. A great example in this that is that his suit was able to absorb the energy from Thor's lightning after his previous suit in Iron Man 2 gets fried by Ivan Vanko's electrified arc whips.

As a Comic book fan, Seeing the Helicarrier come up out of the water actually brought me to tears when I saw this by myself in theaters in 2012. It's exactly the sort of thing a normal movie studio would cut for the sake of the budget in all previous Superhero movies before this point. The Success of the Ironman movies made this possible.

For the question of Agents of Shield, it's a great show, and it's debated if it's canon or not, but with a the premise of a future Saga you could ague that it is canon due to the way that Saga works, which I wholeheartedly agree with.

Captain America's costume in the Avengers film is more Comic book accurate, hence how bright it is. Coulson had it designed this way because this is the costume as it was when he was doing the shows to raise money through war bonds, and since he was a collector of the trading cards, this is how he always envisioned Capt America looking. However, it does evolve in the next Captain America film, which, imo, is one of the best stand alone Marvel films ever...Captain America and the Winter Soldier!

I get the appeal, but there isn't really a good reason for Loki to cross paths with a solo Ironman. Also Loki would wipe the floor with Tony. The reason they recast the Hulk was because Edward Norton had creative differences with the studio. He kind tried to take over the project and wanted final cut approval that didn't allign with Marvel's plans. Then he refused to promote the movie so Marvel recast him for Avengers with Mark Ruffalo. The Hulk film rights are kind of confusing because Universal owns distribution rights but not creative rights. Which basically means if Marvel makes another solo Hulk movie, they have to share profits. That's only if it's a solo Hulk movie though, not if he co-stars.

I think it has to do with the actors, I feel they all have such a great and fun time in marvel movies. And almost everyone knew each other from before, it’s like old friends who come together and do a bit of acting. Also, the Marvel movie had plenty of talented award winning actors so they give the characters heart and humanity effortlessly. So MCU is definitely my favourite by I grew up with Superman and Wonder Woman as my heroes.

The Thor/Loki dynamic. Thor never really gets over and let's go of Loki. Even in the comics, it is an ongoing plotline. Loki can never be trusted and Thor just wants the brother he grew up with (remember 'growing up with' for them is over a thousand years so there is ALOT of history to consider).

It's a really good show that ties in really neatly with all the movies, but it never got any love or even attention back from those movies. Cap is like a new born in this movie, he comes from different times, past times. His evolution makes him one of the biggest and most loved heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tony stark / Iron-Man is a "difficult" character and even in the MCU is transferred like that: immature, selfish, egotistical, irresponsible, impulsive, unpredictable... Fans seem to see only the jokes, the ironic humor, but not those negative aspects: not to mention the total lack of respect for their team and the physical attacks on them. You'll notice all this in your future reactions. And about Hulk, he, as in the comics, will walk different paths that lead him to get a balance between Banner and "the other guy".

Here are some interesting facts about avengers movie. One question is how did Thor get to Earth. Odin used dark magic to send him to Earth but it was a one-way trip without the bifrost. That's why Thor needed the tesseract or he would be stranded on Earth. Also they need the tesseract to fix the bifrost bridge because that's how old and created using the tesseract then when he built the bridge he left the tesseract on Earth. The reason everyone was fighting in the lab because of the excessive gamma radiation coming from the tesseract it enraged everyone in the room. Everything that happened in The incredible Hulk movie is Canon to this movie so Bruce figured out how to change the threshold for him to turn into the Hulk so it wouldn't happen by accident. Not to mention he figured out if he triggers the transformation himself he has more control over the hulk's body but if it's forth like by the tesseract excessive gamma radiation the Hulk will be unleashed. The Black widow movie takes place after civil war so you can check it out right after but you can't watch the end credit scene because it will spoil things going forward. In fact you should check the Black widow and credit scene and watch it right after the 4th avengers film Avengers Endgame.

It wasn't the tessaract that was enraging everyone in the room, it was the sceptre (which we know contains the Mind Stone) which Loki was using to manipulate everyone. The fact that they all had these small grievances against each other just made it easier to influence them. Tony sees the only thing special about Cap is the formula that was given him...even though the reason he was chosen to receive the formula was because he was already special...plays more into Tony resenting the fact that his father spent a lot of time telling him how great and special Cap was, a figure that Tony felt he could never live up to and couldn't win his father's approval no matter how much of a genius he was. Whereas Cap sees Tony as a pale imitation of his father, more concerned about frivolous things than important matters...and Tony was that before he was kidnapped and began to change. The sceptre works on Banners anger issues, using his resentment of Natasha at bringing him into this mess, which is countered by the fact that he is attracted to her. Thor's arrogance comes out about how he is superior to humans, whilst Fury's paranoia about alien invasion is literally becoming a fact before his eyes, and causes it to become worse, which is affecting his judgement in that moment. All of this was part of Loki's plan, not just a coincidence. He needed them all to be off balance and resent each other as it's easier to defeat a superhero who's alone than a team of superheroes working together. The only thing Loki didn't plan for was being outsmarted by Black Widow, he underestimated her and she used that against him to get information. You could almost see the grudging admiration in his eyes, the Trickster God being tricked by a mere mortal.

I’m not sure it was just a build up of Gamma radiation. The scientists in the beginning should have been affected to. It’s emitting a noise in that scene. I think Loki programmed it to go off at a certain point( when Hawkeye attacked). Loki wanted an escape plan in place and it was all arranged. It made people angry intentionally.

Edward Norton (the og hulk) got recast because he wanted too much money (he was a much bigger name back then) and honestly nowadays they might he willing to pay enough to have him but back then the hulk and the entire mcu in general was so new and so risky they decided to find someone cheaper (mark ruffalo) both were good actors to play the hulk in my opinion

Bro, it just ramps up each film from here on. Trust me, they're well aware of the trust issues with Banner. Not just him being able to maintain himself, but the dude literally destroys cities whenever he gets involved. HULK smash. Imagine being that guy, every time your around the suits(like mayor's) just swearing under their breath when around youu for having to fork your destructor bill Wouldn't you just want to disappear alone by yourself. Furys always got a hidden agenda! Always Stark is constantly upgrading the suits. Mark I, II, and so on. Wait till the last ones. And also as well as everyone else's gear. Hawkeye has no super human strengths or abilities. Although he does wield a 250 lb draw weight bow. as he was trained at a young age in the circus by well known villains. He is also skilled in martial arts, tactics and hand to hand combat by Cap. The person Fury is talking to on those screens, 1 woman 1 man that he states he just wants to wipeout all those people is non other then Gen Thunderbolt Ross from the previous HULK film. Father of Banners girlfriend. Not sure if they stated in the Thor film but after Loki finds out he's Frost giant by blood, he resents the F outta Thor. Well in fact he resents all of them. Mother, Father n friends n most, brother. He basically wants the throne. Now why shyt always seems to get funky around Loki. His Asgardian witchcraft from mama consist of Astral projection Illusion casting Transmutation Shapeshifting Teleportation Telekinesis Hypnosis That's why everybody was at each other's throats.

black widow and hawkeye are both assassins. black widow from russia and hawkeye from shield. black widow is the better of the two at fighting and hawkeye is better at getting in and out of places. your going to get more of their backstory (and friendship) in age of ultron.

Captain America is not pro government at all. Without spoilers on possible future movies, I will only say that he will not follow any unjust orders if he believes them to be so and he has very high standards. He will stand by innocents against the law or government. I believe he's one of the most pure good characters in comics and intentionally so. His dislike of Tony's motivations drives his disagreement more than desire to follow orders.

True. He displays this even in the first film a few times. He's ordered to fall in line as he goes to make his attempt to get the flag and basically doesn't listen. He goes alone behind enemy lines after basically being told to stand down. He always follows his compass first.
