One thing people don't mention very much about Dave's vocals is he generally writes killer lyrics and great counterpoint melodies against his hectic riffing. There's much more to singing than good technique, there's melody writing and story telling as the other dimensions
@aaroncollins5188 Жыл бұрын
I've kind of always known this, but recently my 4 year old son has taken an interest in Megadeth and our usual guitar sing-a-longs have gotten nearly impossible as I try to sing along to these riffs that I've been playing for decades and finding it near impossible. Even seemingly simple songs like Trust - I honestly don't know how he does it. I have yet to make it through a single verse without tripping over myself on the fretboard.

I know this is April fools, but man... I've been waiting for this for a long time. Yes, Dave's voice is like that of disfigured angel's, but the way he delivers the lyrics in these songs is masterful. So much energy and purpose plus the message couldn't be clearer. Also worth mentioning that these guys were all freaking high on coke, or crack (or both) while they were performing. That's kinda impressive if you think about it. Glad they got over it and realised how great they could become. Megadeth's newest album is just brilliant. Really hoping for it to be featured.
@contumelious-8440 Жыл бұрын
Rust in Peace is widely considered to be Megadeth's best album. I rate it second behind Peace Sells, personally, but my point is that drugs and great rocknroll has been concomitant since The Beatles. Also, they didn't get over it, exactly. Dave has removed or driven off every original band member and writes all the material himself now with, more or less, studio musicians. Also, Dave's choice drug was Heroin as mentioned.

It's awesome to see her doing a vocal analysis of Mustaine. I have to confess surprise because Mustaine's voice is...uh...unique. But the riffs and the songwriting are legend. Easily my favorite of the Big 4.

This is so fantastic! My only regret is not seeing Elizabeth break down this incredible song. I’m very happy that she’s doing a A Tout le Monde, but that is such a very different song than most of the rest of their catalog. I would really love to see her analyze another one of their heavier and more technical trash songs. In my Darkest Hour would be a great choice. And I would love to hear what she thinks of the Skull Beneath the Skin. If she’s never heard it, I think it would melt her brain. Easily one of the most ambitious and challenging songs from any of the big four. It’s like thrash jazz, which makes sense, because Gar Samuelson, the drummer, came from jazz fusion.

Promises never fails to get me in my feels. Such an amazing song with a phenomenonal vocal performance from Dave!

A tout le monde still brings me to tears after all this time, especially the duet version.

I gotta through in "Peace Sells..." as well. The way he delivers each of the lines to you is like a sarcastic punch in the mouth. One of my favorite vocals by Dave.

You guys did it again!!! I laughed so hard and enjoyed every beat! (Hearing the giggles and laughter in the background made this even better!) Love Megadeth, love Holy Wars, love The Charismatic Voice - keep it up!

Originally Dave had not intended to do vocals. He wanted to focous on guitar but he couldn't find a singer he liked. So David (ellefson) said well why don't you just do the vocals. And so he did out of necessity. And that Dave can do vocals over those complicated riffs is pretty cool. 🤘 Also I love that he cracked up Elizabeth with that opera remark lol

All time favorite metal band right here. Back in 1986 I was watching MTV and looking forward to the new video from this band I hadn't heard of before called Megadeth. The video was for "Wake up Dead" and I remember I was interested just base on how gnarly the band name sounded to me. Well, after watching the video I literally had to pick my jaw off the floor and my journey of being a ' megafan ' had begun!

We need an analysis of one of Megadeth's live concerts from the 90's where his voice was super clear and high pitched.

Dave Mustaine is a guitar god who sings like Scrooge McDuck, and I love Megadeth 🤘🏻

The mouth hole to the side Stallone technique absolutely had me on the the floor 🤣. I clicked on this because I've watched tons on this channel but didn't expect this treasure! So cool!

This is awesome! I literally cried with laughter at Dave being shirtless and shorter hair meaning he'd have to go back to Metallica 😂😂😂

despite him nailing the Elizabeth impression, her giggling in the background is just perfect hahahaha

Kirk has almost all of Elizabeth's facial expressions down pat. There are a couple that he left out, but maybe it was the lack of being impressed by Dave's vocals compared to say, Dio that kept those dreamy stares from Kirk's repertoire. Also, Kirk, You didn't restart the song from the beginning enough times. C'mon, Bro. Hearing Elizabeth laughing and watching Kirk keeping a straight face as he glances over to poke more fun at Elizabeth without saying a word was the best part of the video. So glad you two have a great sense of humor and a relationship that allows you two to play like this.

19 minutes of analysis for a 6.5 minute song?!?! Those are rookie numbers for this channel! XD But I loved every second! Great video.

Hilarious. I have been into Megadeth since hearing the “Loved to Deth”(I think that’s what it was called) demo. Love the fun you guys had with this analysis- killer song too!

About time he may not be vocally perfect but its the whole package with Dave warning us about the system since I was a teenager ! Yes metalica was just holding him back .
