Another great reaction to an iconic movie. This was the first movie that Morgan Freeman did the narration on, it was the start to his long career of not only acting but doing voice overs and narratives. I’m glad you gave one of the “old movies” a try, there are so many good ones.

Hitting them notes in the intro Charlie👍....And oh!,i don't know if you know this or not but the actor who played Captain Hadley, the one Andy had helped out with his taxes is Clancy Brown,he's the VA for Mr.Krabs,i just now realized that was him 😅

Red tells Andy "hope is a shitty pipe dream." That night Andy escapes through a shitty pipe. 😊

Shawshank is a movie that is orders of magnitude better than the book. It’s a completely different story. Same characters, same ending, different plot. I highly recommend the book. 111 pages. Also, the mug shot of Red(Morgan) is his son in real life. His son is also the prisoner “reeling in” the new fish prisoners.

111 pages is pretty short for a book, I might give it a go then. I had no idea that was Red son in real life

I like to think that after the ending, Andy and Red traveled the world for the rest of their lives.

Shawshank, Godfather 1 and 2, Pulp Fiction, Lion King, and Goodfellas are the perfect movies.

I always felt Goodfellas and Taxi Driver were very overrated. Maybe Scorsese just isn’t for me. Only seen Godfather 1, but it was great.

I’m surprised you’ve never seen Se7en. Great Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt thriller.

I am so damn curious about how you’d react to Wicked. You say opera sounds beautiful to you, it has operatic elements. And then Cynthia Erivo, man… her voice will knock you OUT. Plus the story?! Phenomenal. It’s emotional, funny, stunning… I think you should give it a shot. Plus reactions to it are killing on YT right now

I’ll be ripping that intro audio and making it a downloadable ringtone for your discord lol

I have personally had the Pacific Ocean wash away my worries in one moment. Go anywhere. The American coast, the Mexican coast, Hawaii, the South American coast, the many South Pacific island chains. Including, French Polyesia, Fiji, Tonga, Somoa, Cook Islands, Easter Island, and the Galapagos Isands, ETC. If you have never been to the Pacific Ocean in some capacity, youre not alive yet. Anywhere except the dirt L.A. waters.

The actor who played the guy who killed Andy's wife was channeling the cartoon character Muttley. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqiWdHhmabF6n6M

morgan freeman is dressed like how i dressed my character in pokemon legends arceus. lol the religious contradictions that the warden has triggered me. he forces religion on the inmates while his prison guards curse and insults them, all while committing crimes. then what the warden does to himself at the end put all of that loyalty to god to waste, because he knows what the bible says happens to those that take their own life, but at the same time did somebody like him deserve to heaven anyway? that one prison guard's voice sounded really familiar but i couldn't tell who it was because he looked way younger, after i kept hearing him talk i realized that it was hank from detroit become human, the actor that voices mr krabs. it's wild how he has the most vulgar roles but is beloved for being the star of a kids show. lol i don't know if it was done on purpose but i like the paralells between the warden and andy's hiding places in the walls. the warden used a picture of a bible verse on the wall to keep what was important to him hidden in a safe, his greed, while andy used a lustful picture of a woman to hide what was imporatant to him, his freedom. when morgan talked about how he thought of ways to violate his probation it reminded me of how we get intrusive thoughts sometimes. like we never want to press the button, but when somebody tells us to not press the button and we obsess over it we get tempted to it. lol
