Everything feels heavy there after a while. If you're looking for someone to show you around the back tracks let me know - perhaps I can rustle up a few riders.. A word of caution - DO NOT even think of going out there in mid summer. If you can avoid Des, Jan, Feb - early morning is best

I agree with you. It is now completely legal to do at any time in California. It will take a lot of deaths to change the law and stop it.

Lane splitting is not a dbag move, filtering/lane splitting saves time and fuel. People have been lane splitting in California for 30 years, and in Europe and other places for longer than that. It's only dangerous because morons in cars are more concerned with their cell phones than paying attention to their surroundings.

Ken Eaton it's actually taken a lot of death & injury to get filtering laws passed, not only in California, but around the world. Filtering is actually far safer for riders. In saying that, my advice for the new rider is 'Don't Filter' until you have gained plenty of road time and have become highly proficient with the basic skill set of riding. While I'm handing out tips to the new rider, here's a heads up.... You WILL crash... You WILL get hurt... How hurt is up to you. Wear the appropriate gear. (I've been riding 30 years, so I know what I'm talking about)
