I don't really get why you would want a faster bike as your beginner's bike. I've seen so many people say that a 600cc bike is way better but what's the point of having more power when you can't use that power in most traffic? The N400 is plenty fast for 95% of traffic, the only traffic it might struggle with is left lane on the Autobahn. I really love this bike and will probably get it as my first bike in about a year from now when I have my license

@JL-pu6bh9 ай бұрын
I guarantee you, most people that started riding on a 600cc 4 cyl bike could not even properly ride their bike. You can easily tell when you ride with them on twisty mountain road, guys who started light (250/400cc bike) and learning cornering with light bike can do even better later on when they graduated to 600 or even 1000cc bike.
@parkappanigga9 ай бұрын
@@JL-pu6bh For sure, I just keep seeing people who are like "400cc is so slow, you'll grow out of it" "get a 600cc bike" and such where I'm like, why? 400cc is more than enough for normal riding, anyone who says that 400cc is probably going 80mph on every road they can
@mrgiggly219 ай бұрын
@@parkappaniggai’m from texas where the speed limit is a suggestion everybody usually goes 75-80 on the highways sometimes 100 if they really late and the backroads are basically like 50-60. i do see the practice of starting small but at the end of the day if someone wants to get a 600-1100cc let em they might wanna keep their first bike for a while. but that’s just my opinion i’m currently looking at getting a scout for my first so i won’t worry about outgrowing too fast and ik how much power it has so i won’t be doing crazy shit. but believe you me imma be practicing a shit ton when i get mine.
@parkappanigga9 ай бұрын
@@mrgiggly21 I mean that's good but a lot of people get 600cc's as their first bike and the end up crashing because they can't corner at all. They only go in straight lines and then speed like idiots. Your speed limit is 100mph, a 400cc can do that fairly easy and I doubt you'll be the slowest on the road when you're going at 100mph. Only reason to get a faster bike is if you want to speed, which is stupid. "Outgrowing" is also such a stupid term. You won't ever outgrow a bike within a few years, learning to bring a 400cc bike to it's limits takes way longer. I understand 600cc bikes for germany since we got the autobahn but in any country with a speed limit on highways it's just wasted performance, unless you're gonna speed. A beginner rider shouldn't even go onto the highway in his first year, he should firstly be focusing on taking corners, braking properly, getting used to traffic in general and even changing gears is something you have to get used to. Most people you see online will tell you that a 600cc bike is totally fine for a beginner, which it might be until you actually get into sketchy situations. My dad used to ride a 700cc bike and he told me to get a 125cc bike to start with, because he has experience. He knows it's dangerous and that learning to drive properly and safely on a faster bike is way harder. On a slower bike you'll focus more on riding safe and efficient rather than just going fast. I will still get a 400cc bike because I'm planing to do a lot of highway driving. Other than that I won't ever need a faster bike.

Doing pretty good soo far 👍. If anything for a suggestion, I'd say when coming to a stop, let the engine help slow you down, don't just pull in the clutch and coast with the brakes applied. The engine / transmission will help a lot especially as you drop gears and apply the brakes, even more when you apply that with both front and rear brakes. Keep calm, and a level head, a lot of people make mistakes when they let panic and fear take hold like " Target Fixation " or " Panic Braking ", usually when they ride above their skills. Always be mindful of your surroundings and conditions, things can change in the blink of eye but if you are aware and alert, you can better avoid situations like you did with that van in the road and that child by the road.

My biggest struggle right now i think is stopping unbalanced, and killing my right wrist/hand with how i hold it currently; trying to hold the throttle like an icecream cone and keep my wrist flat, maybe its seating/bottom positioning and lightning up on my hands but the gloves also i think aren't a good fit.
