I worked at the YMCA of the Rockies near Granby and we had some awesome elk there was no hunting allowed on the property and the guys all around the Y did really good because they roam a lot. One time I was riding my mountain bike down a trail across the road at the downhill ski resort and wiped out right in the middle of the resident herd. They fed them all winter for the tourists to see so they were pretty tame. No hunting allowed there too.

6.5 cm is only good for a bench. With hunting rounds it's worse than the 100 year old .270win in every way. Nice deer.

Very different. Whitetail is better in my opinion but those were also corn fed Texas whitetail. Mule deer typically has a deeper sage flavor.

That sage taste is a little much, but it makes excellent chili. Vermont maple breakfast sausage is really good to make with muley meat too. Theirs just a ton of sage brush in Colorado. Makes the antelope taste funky too.

Not a mature mule deer. He might have been 2.5 years old. But not a bad first mule deer. Congratulations! Super stoked to see you get into the Muley world...much more challenging than a white tail. Now you need to do a DIY muley hunt on public land. I enjoyed your elk hunts and watching the real life struggle and the lessons you learned.

You finally shot a real deer on a real hunt... sitting in a stand by the only pond for miles an shooting a whitetail is one thing.... THIS IS ACTUAL HUNTING! Ya'll sitting in stands by bait and ponds are not hunting.
