Hey, Otis! It's thanksgiving weekend up here in Canada, and I just want to let you know I'm thankful for what you do. The history of roots music has grown richer due to your interviews and observations. You're also a damn fine songwriter! 🦃

A lot of things happen “Out in the Parking Lot “ ✌️😎 Otis, this is one of best stories I’ve heard in a while !! Made me laugh and cry plus got prickly hairs on my arm during the Amy Gibbs part!!! 🐿️😎🐿️

I love hearing other people's Nashville stories! I moved there from my hometown of Sacramento, CA in 1998 and stayed 20 years. I was blessed to do sessions and the road with major label artists and play bucket list venues and meet/work with some of my heroes. It was an unforgettable journey.

Otis....I started to tear up at the cats on the couch and y'all hugging it out part of the story. Thanks for a bit of early fall emotion. I needed that.

Your one of the brightest spots in my day Ottis. Love the insight and candor. One day I’ll get to see you in person but if I ever move to Nashville to chase my dreams I will owe you a lot of that credit. We appreciate all that you do my friend. Peace and love

The Hero’s journey. After walking through the fire, it sure is wonderful to be able to look back and have a laugh. Everyone goes there, at the time it is hell, but it is where , if you find the right perspective, you get the best life lessons, and of course the best stories.. That’s a good one, thanks.

Harrowing times moving out of familiar places. Those comfortable spaces are hard to come by. We left my home town for the front range of the Colorado Rockies a few years back. A dream of ours our entire marriage. Driving away was so hard. And, in retrospect, a pretty expensive mistake. However, we'd still be trying to pursue that dream if we hadn't gotten it out of the way. We're back in that home town and better for the experience. LAA

Otis - this might be my favorite video you’ve ever done. We went through the same kind of complications when we moved from Memphis to Saugerties 15 years ago. Both of us separate vehicles, my wife following my pick-up truck in her VW Beetle. Everything was beautiful…

I had a move that was very similar to this where, when we got to our new town, we found out that our place to stay had fallen through. We had a U-Haul with all of our stuff and no home to put it in. We got though it but it was very stressful in the moment. I really liked your words of encouragement to Amy and am probably going to use that in one of my pep talks.

About 16 years ago or so I said before I’m 40 I want to move to Franklin or Madison. That is still the goal realistically in the next few years. I’m shopping for more cities farther out east now because I don’t have a few million dollars laying around for a modest three bedroom house lol. Awesome video though. Helped me get through cooking dinner.

Getting a dead car up on a dolly is a challenge! I had to get a dead Volkswagen jetta up on one to save a $250 tow bill to the dealer. Yeah, it had to go to the dealer. Gravity ended up being my enemy. Had to run out and get a tow rope, ratchet come-a-long, and called in late to work. Then I lost a section of chain off the bumper of my truck while driving up the interstate. If I had it to do over, I would have paid the $250 and given the guy a $50 tip.

I think I need to disagree with you this one time Otis… I believe that certain geological locations DO have their own mojo… maybe it’s the people who settle there..? Or something that I don’t understand about the actual world.. But Nashville sure does have some great talent..

A wonderful tale. Coincidence? I’m not so sure. Seems to me y’all wound up right where you were supposed to be. And those so called coincidences? Perhaps they weren’t coincidences at all. Of course, if one believes in such things. Especially a musician, who must rely on something much bigger than the tangible things. Perhaps the cosmos does indeed speak…if one believes in such things. Best,
