My first oil change on my Triumph Tiger 900 GT motorcycle

The first time I will do an oil change on my Triumph Tiger 900 GT motorcycle. Not the first oil change done on the bike but my first one. After 27,000 miles.

Amount of oil required with an oil filter change per Owner's Manual: 3.15 liters
3.15 liters = 3 x 1 quart bottle (2,839.06 ml) + 310.94 ml (measured)
Torque specification for drain plug: 25 nm (18.44 ft-lbs)
Hex bit size for oil drain plug: 8 mm
Socket size for Triumph skid plate: 8 mm
Pliers used to remove the Triumph Oil Filter:

To remove the K&N filter with the welded hex nut: 17 mm socket wrench
To protect the header pipes from oil after removing oil filter: aluminum foil

I didn't. My bike actually wasn't due for an oil change, I was halfway through services. I did the oil change because I was a little low in oil, and the last oil change the shop had put in a pretty thick oil as it was much colder. I am now in a warmer climate and was nervous about adding a totally different oil as a top-up. Probably would have been ok but a good excuse to learn on this bike.
