The heat from the fans nulifies the comfort features of this bike. The bike would be perfect if not for that. Winter and colder temperatures perfect but investing to ride motorcycles in winter..

It's a design flaw that definitely needs to be addressed but isn't terrible depending where you live. Here in the New York its not too bad except for the couple of REALLY HOT days we get in July. After that, it's bearable and actually welcoming the rest of the year. But if you live in hot climates then this would definitely be an issue. Either way, Triumph should redesign the airflow

Interesting, I’m a short time owner and I am liking the Tiger over the weight of the Goldwing I used to own. As for resetting the service light, I will be using DealerTool to take care of the service light, far more options than the simple OBD tools, and a onetime fee to get it setup for each Triumph you use it own.

Can confirm grip puppies warm up just fine with grip heaters. I didn't even really notice the delay of having to have the heat saturate the puppies so it is there but not bad.

Thanks for the input. I've heard the same as well but glad to hear from someone with experience. I imagine it takes a little bit longer for the heat to come through, but once up to temp they probably feel the same as without them.

I bought a black sheepskin butt pad from Alaska Leather way back when I owned my Tiger 800 10 years ago, and have used it on every Tiger I've owned since. I think it works great for my situation and is easy to take on & off.

Apologies if i have this wrong, but i believe there is a sequence that resets the service icon. Personally I like the third style screen that shows rpm range etc. But its choice. Thats interesting about sport mode changing vibration but im lucky no issues with this. Thank you for your video.

Thanks for watching. Unfortunately no, there is no way to reset the service light from the bike itself. You either need to purchase TuneECU and the OBD2 reader, or TigerTool, or bring it to the dealer.

Mine did that a couple of times. Does it happen when slowing down and you pull in the clutch? I've heard others have that issue to. It doesnt happen a lot. But every now and then if I'm slowing down and not going fast (Say around 20 mph) and then I'm braking for a stop sign or something and I pull in the clutch, it cuts power. Like I said, it doesn't happen a lot. But every once in a while, but not enough for me to bring it into the shop. Good luck with yours, hope its just an ECU update or something

I have a 2023 GT Pro that I bought in May. The tach design is kind of hokey, but I've gotten used to it and don't mind. I shift by the sound of the engine and rarely look at the tach anyway. The heat doesn't bother me and I don't notice the engine vibration. My other bike is a Harley, so the engine on the Tiger is creamy smooth compared to it. Barkbusters are next on my upgrade list, for sure. I just need to order them. My biggest gripes are the seat and the service light. The seat kills me after two hours. I bought a Butt Buster seat pad, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I've considered an aftermarket seat, but they are expensive and not always the remedy. I hope the seat pad works. My dealer is very reasonable on service costs, so I'll let them do the work while it's under warranty. When I purchased my Triumph, it was between the Tiger and the BMW 850 GS. If I'd have known about the service light, I may have bought the BMW instead (it may have the service light, too, but I didn't check). All motorcycles are compromises, but with the Tiger the positives far, far outweigh the negatives. Ride safe.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I don't know for sure but I believe BMW also requires the dealer to reset the light. I'm not positive but it seems many new bikes are going this route now. Plus BMW service is more $$$. I'm happy with my Tiger and believe I made the right choice. It seems like many of us Tiger owners have similar likes/dislikes about the bike. Let's just hope Triumph listens and makes changes. Happy riding and safe travels!!

I put a Corbin seat on mine and it's awesome!!! I hated the stock seat...It was hurting me like 10 minutes into the ride. Something about the front angle was just painful. The Corbin flattens it out and I don't even think about the seat anymore. It saved this bike for me, honestly.

I drive a 900GT pro from 2020 (25.00 km) and I don't understand how they can say the valve clearance now has to be adjusted after 30.000km but has to be checked at 20.000 km what's the difference? The vibrations in your steer make your hand "sleep" at some point. Long drives make you have to raise from the saddle once and a while quite frequent because its not really comfortable anymore. At 22.000 km it had a bigger service job and to my surprise the inlet rubbers had to be replaced because they where leaking. Not something you normally think of but they simply where on stock, that makes you wonder.. Further great bike, very easy to handle and no problem what so ever to keep up with others that drive a 1290KTM or a bit BMW or Ducati of you want.

Yeah, I guess every bike has their shortcomings and there are always things that can be improved. The vibes in the bars definitely are more noticeable to me now and I feel it more (maybe because I'm thinking about it). But longer rides (even back roads where I can't use cruise control) my right hand starts getting numb.

BtW you can reset the service light by going into the settings and changing the date.
@Mudslidex1
@Mudslidex1 7 ай бұрын
But that really doesn't solve the issue. We shouldn't have to manipulate the date to trick the system. Triumph should let us clear the light on our own without special software/hardware needed to be purchased. Just like most car manufacturers that allow you to reset the oil light from the dashboard after you change your oil. Motorcycles should be the same

I'm thinking the seats on the 900 are not as comfortable as the seats on the older 800s. I thought my Tiger 800 was very comfortable, not so much my 2022 900. And you are right on the vibration. My 900 does vibrate a bit, but only on the right side. Cant say I understand how that works!
@Mudslidex1
@Mudslidex1 Жыл бұрын
That seems to be the case from what I heard, most people like the seats on the 800. Only thing I can think of about the vibrations being on the right side is that our hands are on the throttle all the time where our left hand is more relaxed while riding and not using the clutch. So Im guessing we're feeling the vibes more in the right due to our hands constantly wrapped around the throttle side. Thanks for watching and safe travels!

1. Bar vibes I ELIMINATED all vibes at the bars ends with the combination of: a) Sport Mode, b) bar-end weights bought online at Walmart, and c) Grip Puppy brand (spongy) over-grips. 2. Rev display: I have the GT Pro with Quick Shifter and have found no need to see an RPM display of any kind in regular/routine riding both in city and highway circumstances. As an experienced biker with advanced engine tech onboard I have found that one can easily interpolate what engine RPM range is occurring by other inputs like exhaust note or torque effect. What is more valuable to me in operation is seeing the selected running gear in real time. 3. Plastic bits: I rarely if ever take the Tiger off road, so those plastic parts are of no concern for me. I would have gone with the Rally Pro had I wanted to take it off pavement. 4. Screen: I fail to see the need for a screen protector, especially at the cost of incurring the glare that it produces. The chance of a bare screen getting scratched or damaged in normal use is fairly nil, IMHO. In a crash a screen protector will likely be of no use to avoiding a screen incident. 5. Engine heat: I've seen a deflector accessory that can be installed in the exit duct just behind the radiator fan that pushes the exhaust flow higher into the air and off the legs. While that might mitigate the problem for some, I've not found the warm air flow to be much of a problem in my two years of ownership in W.Pa.
@Mudslidex1
@Mudslidex1 Жыл бұрын
All good and valid points. I too have no intention in taking it offroad so I wasn't concerned with getting guards etc.. I'm still on the fence about the screen protector. It's one of those things as soon as I take it off, something is going to drop on it and scratch it!! At least my luck anyway :) Thanks for watching and commenting. Safe travels!

@kkhalifah1019

The tacho is rather stupidly designed, although you can change the screen to have it displayed numerically above the speedo. But because the torque band is so wide (the engine makes 90% of its max torque from just under 3000rpm) and you don't have to rev the tits off it all the time, I can easily live with it. The odometer is actually displayed on the screen momentarily when you turn on the ignition and when you switch it off -- it isn't something you need to monitor all the time when you ride. If you need to keep track of distance when you ride, both tripmeters are easily accessible. The only minor gripe I have is the fact that starting the bike is a 2-handed operation, which is a bit of a faff when you're working on the bike coz you have to walk over to the left side to pull the clutch while thumbing the starter button.
@Mudslidex1
@Mudslidex1 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the odometer thing still bothers me because sometimes I'm curious about what my overall mileage is and if I miss it at startup, I have to fumble through menus. Not a big deal, but the one "Scene" that I would like to use, there is no option to even view the odometer unless changing scenes. Once again, no big deal, but would be nice if they put it there as the screen has plenty of room for it. As for the clutch operated starting? Yeah that's annoying but I know most Triumphs are like that and any modern bike I've seen lately is like that too (at least the ones I've seen).

Ayyy I just got mine back in June this year. All the stuff you mentioned is spot on, though now I wish I'd gone aftermarket on the skidplate knowing the risk of the OEM one. I was curious where you got that accessory bar that sits behind the windscreen? Unless my bike has one and I'm totally derping it. Been trying to find something like that since the handlebar gets cluttered pretty quickly. Also have you had any issues with the barkbusters rotating on impact? Mine did in a spill and it pulled on the wires. Want to try and situate it so its less likely to in the future. Thanks and ride safe!

Thanks for watching and commenting. Fortunately I have not gone down since I put the Barkbusters on so I can't comment if they move or not. As for the crossbar on the windscreen. I bought this thicker one on Amazon for the same reasons you mentioned. It's nice to get stuff off the handlebars and mount up higher. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Agree. Screen is horrible. Triumph is also trying to be Apple with paywalled service manual and warranty demanding "authorized dealer" servicing. The bike has potensial and uses, though. Bar raiser, a pad on the seat, barkbusters, maybe som pyramid plastic upgrades and of course luggage - then it actually is a GT. I have left the plastic protector on, thinking it might soften the impact of some small debris. I'm riding asphalt, or in worst case unpaved roads. My touring choice. Thank you for sharing.

How bad would you say the engine heat is? I live in AZ where it's hot for half of the year and I do ride in stop-and-go traffic. On my test ride the other day, I felt heat after about 15 mins of riding and it was only 66 degrees out. It wasn't terrible, but I don't know if that's as hot as it will get or if it's going to burn my leg and prevent me from riding.
@Mudslidex1
@Mudslidex1 Жыл бұрын
That's a tough one to answer as everyones tolerance is different. Here in NY it's not bad at all, but then again we dont get the same heat a Arizona. I can say that I definitely felt it when we had our heatwaves here in the Summer and temps reached near 100F. But only in slow moving traffic. BUT... I also wear motorcycle pants that have kneepads, so that shields the heat from my knee. If you wear protective gear, then you won't feel it. But I've ridden with just regular jeans on a hot day and your knee definitely gets warm. There are some aftermarket "fins" that can be purchased that mount to that point and deflect the heat more outward. People say those work well. But like I said, for my area, it's not enough to bother me, but I can see it being an issue if you live in hotter climates
@Wagongirl01
@Wagongirl01 Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I'm going to ride it again today and see how it goes. I do wear armored pants - they have a mesh piece in the front lower leg and that's where I felt the heat come in. I am taking my MX boots today and will wear those to see if that helps (until I can find pants w/no mesh). I appreciate your time! @@Mudslidex1

@@Wagongirl01You're welcome. You will most likely feel the heat coming off the left side as radiator is split and the left side gets the hot coolant first. The right side does also blow warm air, but not as hot as the left. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I had the service light come on when I disconnected the battery. Come to find out the date and time was off. I reset the date to the correct date and the service light went away. I would suggest that if the service light comes on due to just date then just reset the date backwards a year and the light will go away. Triumph likely doesn't want you to know that trick. Who really looks at the year date on the bike anyway
@Mudslidex1
