I'm addicted to this car. Haven't raced in the Rookie series though, I've been doing the D license series. If you haven't given it a go, this week they're at the new Jerez track. For some reason this car on that track go so well together. This car feels a lot like the Skippy but with the light weight characteristics of the Vee. Driving it with the dog box H-shifter just adds to the fun. And damn, nice recovery in this race.

Yes the FF1600 is really fun to drive Dave. (I did some testing at Knockhill) I find it becomes a bit unstable on downshifts at times which is probably due to only having 4 gears. Great racing as always. Keep up the good work. 👍

You're probably overrevving it on the downshift and locking up the rear end. Blipping the throttle and being more patient will help.

Just literally stab the throttle when shifting down. It will then slot into gear 👍

Quick tip, you can flat shift in the formula ford if you just use clutch - so instead of lifting off, you keep your foot flat and use clutch instead as you go into gear. Don’t know if it’s quicker but it’s what I’ve been doing and I seem to be decently quick

How many races have I watched the top 10 cars die in short order on the second to last lap? The cars take longer to warm up and once they go beyond, the car becomes undrivable.

Personally i make all my records in qualifying. I can practice for 1 hour and im getting slower and slower, but when i hop into qualifying i drive so much faster. In actual races im slower, but i think its because im trying to drive little bit safer and still new to sim racing and i dont want to ruin other people races by driving like maniac.

Technically it's driven with the H-shifter and no clutch. Thus the way of the dog box transmission. :)

@@tapidlittle13 You have to lift off the throttle for the upshifts to occur, just slide it into gear without the clutch, lift and done. For downshifts, it's actually pretty forgiving in regards to blipping, especially if downshifting while driving in a straight line. Just have to be careful if trying to downshift mid turn while the revs are high.

@@lilfurbal ok thanks. I did try the Audi 90 with my H pattern this week and the clutch was required if I remember correctly. Probably a different type of transmission.
