Please don't forget, that this song originally came from a british band, this has nothing to do with american national pride, it's a tribute to EVERY victim, serving soldier and veteran out there regardless what country they originated from.

That IS what the song says. The last line says it explicitly. Americans can be included in that too. js

This is an anti-war song. In honor to all follen soldiers, by a British band and it has nothing to do with America. There is nothing honorable in being shot like an animal and in bleeding to death. War is only death, suffering, and destruction... I have witnessed tings I wish I could forget, but I can't! Salute to to all my brothers in arms, no matter where you are from

Thank you for your words of support for our Vets. I did my 20 and still am amazed at how many Vets live on the street. People that haven't been there have no clue what "Brothers in Arms" really means to those of us that have served and never will. Yes Home Free put into music a feeling that most people don't understand except maybe firemen or police because they too stand only with each other for support. Again thank you for this reaction.

Jen, thank you thank you thank you!!! I think I said amen more during your reaction than I have all week! First of all thank you to your father and you for your service. Families serve too. The fact the we house, feed, educate, and give free healthcare to illegals while we have veterans living on the streets with nothing to eat is inexcusable!!! My husband is a veteran, and is now Air Force Civil Service. He deployed 3 times as a civilian. We were lucky. He came home safe and healthy. Not everyone can say that. Thank you for being another voice for our veterans!!!

I hear ya Jen, my cousin (mothers 1st cousin) went off to Vietnam in early 1970 and returned in 1972 minus his right leg. I was 9 when he left and he was my hero. He had won some bodybuilding contests and lifted in some powerlifting meets and he was this real tough guy with big muscles and people thought he was gonna be mean, but he was the biggest sweetheart you ever met...helped anyone out that would ask. Then came home and was maimed not only phyically, but mentally too...he couldn't get a job, got runn-around by the VA to get any help or benefits at all....he ended up on the streets of diwntown Miami, and on June 23, 1979, my 19th birthday he bkew his brains out in front of people. The VA never once tried to get him the mental help he needed....it was so devestating to hear, I cried for 2 days solid. I mjust had to share...his story isn't uncommon - UNFORTUNATELY

Your passion and message is so powerful and I couldn’t agree more! Americans take for granted the cost that was paid by our military so that they have the freedom to whine about how much they hate America. Only a country that is truly free has the luxury of spending so much time and energy disrespecting itself . Thank you to all who have served and sacrificed your life, your sanity, your family and your physical body so that I can live free..god bless and much ❤️..

Wow, a touching and heart felt reaction to this song. Not the performance, but the meaning of the song. Many of us feel the way you do, even being a veteran myself I don't get upset at the way I'm treated by my fellow veterans deserve better. I gave my time, part of my lifespan, many have given their bodies, their dignity, the rest of their lives, and will never recover or be the same. I've lost brothers and sisters that I ate with the day before. Those and their families are the ones that deserve better.

My dad served in WW2, my brother served in Vietnam, my ex husband was in the reserves and my step daughter is in the Air Force as a combat medic. Most of my friends served as well, with one who never came back, his body never found. You're right: once the military personnel are no longer useful, they are discarded. Although our local VA is described as good, its still a nightmare compared to private insurance (and we know how bad that is!).

Door gunners were saviors. My uncle wrote my mother from 'Nam and said they saved his life many times. He would never talk about it when he got back, hid his medals in the back of his closet. He was in the worst of it and he died at the age of 40. Doctors said they were amazed he lived that long, every organ was massively scarred from Agent Orange. He also had a little monkey that saved the platoons asses many times. During a heavy firefight a mother monkey and her baby got shot out of a tree, the mother was dead before she hit the ground and the baby ran to my uncle, grabbed on and didn't let go. He rode on his shoulder and would get real jumpy when Charlie was near.

Jen , you’re so right 22 a day is way to many , I have a patch on my Harley vest that says , any homeless veteran should come way before any refugees . I’m a member of the patriot guard riders that help protect the families of the fallen and I still get a lump in the throat when the bag pipes start playing. Thank you for your dad serving and to all the veterans that served. Love our military

My husband passed away from agent orange. Our government so stupidly sprayed there in Nam. He was highly decorated, spent years in pain until the day he went to Heaven. This song was so emotional for me!! :(

As a veteran who served in Vietnam the Grenada Invasion the Panama invasion in Desert Storm I've seen all aspects from the way we were treated when we got back from Vietnam to the big difference when we got back from Desert Storm what most people don't know this disregard for veterans has been going on since the Roman times just a little unknown fact there

Don't know if you noticed this about the video, but every time a singer was in front of a lighted window, they were transparent, almost ghostly. Very fitting for the song. And yes, we need to take better care of our vets.

My father served in Vietnam. He was with The Wild Weasels and was in charge of loading the planes with agent orange. After serving over there for 5 years he came home in 71 and felt like his country turned it's back on him for doing his job. He stayed in the Air Force until 1984. In 84 while in Germany he was diagnosed with Leukemia. They sent us to Texas and the doctors at Wilford Hall Medical Center said since they didn't know much about Leukemia at that time....They was going to use him as a lab rat. They did admit he got sick from the agent orange. He lost his battle in 1988. R.I.P. DAD

I taught, at the Air Force Senior NCO Academy, a lesson titled, "Change" in which I created an attention step. I first spoke about the famous kiss in NY square at the end of WW II, then about the parades and ceremonies that took place in towns large & small to celebrate returning vets. Next, I painted a verbal picture of returning vets from Vietnam, how the airports filled up with people waiting for their plane to land. How as they came into the terminals, blood was thrown on them as beautiful young women turned their faces ugly with twisted insults of, "Baby killer!" I had the students thinking about how things change

Yes, Marc Knopfler, a Brit, wrote this about the Falklands War in which Britain and Argentina went to war over ownership of the Falklands Islands. It has Zero to do with recent American military actions. And yet, this song echoes a sentiment felt by the common warrior throughout the centuries. One discovers quickly that on the battlefield, you do not fight for flag and national leaders. You fight for that brother in arms there in the battle alongside you
