As the main clinician for these guitars in North American, I am THRILLED to see you review these instruments. They blow away everything I've ever played. I love your channel and your work on here. If you ever get a chance, try my signature model. It's is 000 with a cutaway. It'll freak you out even worse than these two. Cheers brother. Keep up the good work.

I own a Boucher SG-32. I played it and it cut right through me, it was an emotional experience. I knew it had to be mine when I first played it. My daughter played it a few days later, after a minute or so she stopped and looked at me trying to catch her breath. She said she felt it cut right through her, no guitar had ever had such an impact on her. Robin Boucher and his team know how to make guitars that are as you described, excellent.

You're right, Jerenmy. I've played some small-bodied Bouchers in music stores here in Canada and was amazed at the deep, firm bass and needle-sharp trebles coming out of that small body. Boucher gets the adirondack from the Quebec forests where they're located, and it must br some of the best.

They truly sound - as you said - like instruments of excellence. The tight grain in the tops along with the silking truly speaks high-end. The lows were well balanced with the mids and the highs, and those high notes just ring out. Sustain is superb! There are no 'obnoxious' notes or louder single strings. These guitars truly sing! I think they are two of the best I've heard you audition. I'm going back now to re-listen to some others to compare.

Oh man...you're making me miss the two Boucher's that I've parted with. I had an OM with torrefied top & Bubinga B&S which was my main squeeze for two years. Ultimately parted with it to get a bit more space at the saddle for fingerpicking but otherwise no complaints ever. And an older dread with a non-torrefied top & walnut B&S...just wasn't the tone I was looking for but again, no complaints about build quality. I'm so glad you got a chance to try these...they really are great instruments. My dream Boucher is one of those HG models but maybe with mahogany B&S. I enjoy your channel and what you're offering for the betterment of guitar geeks everywhere...cheers from Canada!

I'm anxious to play a Boucher or several, but I am reluctant to buy a torrified guitar. I know when I pick it up if it's a good guitar that will age well. I am not convinced that torrification is going to give you the same result as natural aging. George Gruhn is not a big proponent of cooking tops for the same reason. He has commented on it and you can find his opinions which count way more than mine do. But I am looking forward to playing Bouchers because of what so many are saying.

Boucher guitars are the top of the food chain. When it comes to strap buttons and jacks for pickup systems, for me personally, I would rather leave the strap button intact, and drill a separate hole about 1.25" or so away from the existing strap button. Picture the guitar laying on it's back on a work bench: as you're looking at the strap button, the jack would be located 1.25" to your right, so that when you're standing & playing using a strap, the jack is located below the strap button, towards the floor. The jack location is still perfectly centered in relation to the guitar's top and back ( like the strap button ), but below the strap button when standing & playing using a strap. This way, the strap button and the jack never interfere with each other, but the biggest reason is NOT having to rely on a jack to strap your guitar while standing & playing UN-PLUGGED. The first time I saw an acoustic guitar set up this way with the strap button still intact, as the jack is located as described above, I was very impressed. The end block has plenty of real estate for the jack to be located in this way. And if ya ever wanna play plugged in while standing, simply place the strap on the strap button FIRST, then plug into the jack. Plugging the guitar cable in first would make placing a strap onto the strap button a little more tricky. So strap first, THEN insert the cable into the jack.

Question? I know it may sound like a non relevant Question-but this is coming from a fellow Luthier. -How on Earth could a High end Guitar company or Boutique builder/Luthier -spray & finish/polish a Guitar one week-and ship it out the very next week? I’m pretty sure Even the Big 3 Martin,Gibson & Taylor would traditionally let the freshly finished instruments hang for a spell-several weeks 3-4 at bare minimum . I Guess You would have to ask a few longtime Custom Builders like Goodall and others that question. I Guess it may depend on Nitro vs Water base or french polish finishes. I checked this builders web site for information on what type of finish they use-and they don’t say-other than on their Guitar sales/specifications -they just mention High Gloss! The guitars sound good in the Video. This outfit seems to model their Guitars/product much like ‘Huss & Dalton’. 👍 I prefer naturally old Seasoned wood vs Torrified’-older the better.

First of all Boucher guitars would have sent me a nice guitar just like this immediately upon completion because ………. I want one and 😢 Oh Okay so it’s not going to happen but it would have been nice……….. and expensive $$ and my Mrs. would not have killed me………… until the credit card bill comes in and then ………. I die of angry wife !!
