Many areas do not have reliable activity on 146.520 MHz or 446.000 MHz, but you never know until you try. I tried to get some people from the local repeater to jump on 146.520, but I couldn't hear them and they couldn't hear me. Nice work. Good luck in drumming up some activity in your area! 73!

Thanks, Jeff! We’ll see how it goes. I hope I can do my part to get it going around here.

Keep it up! Anything that encourages people to use and monitor 146.52 is a good thing.

Thanks, Mike! I agree 2m simplex isn’t going to grow itself around here. It will take effort from myself and other hams.

Congrats on the contact. I find that the Southwestern and Western Mountains make it easier to make a 2m contact on simplex as opposed to our locations. Really great and so fun. I'm still trying for that 2m contact over the lake with a feng :)

Thanks, Dude! Having mountains over looking a large city like LA, Phoenix or Seattle certainly has the advantage.

Good stuff. I never thought to try 2m after I've activated POTA, but I'm going to try it now! 73
