Everything Joe does is perceived to be an expected result, he will never and can never be suspicious. Therefore if he lies, steals, kills, or releases all SCP‘s it will not be noticed, because as long as he must be linked to the circumstance it’s impossible to perceive it as an unexpected occurrence! The exploring series has done many videos on specific groups of interest which are worth checking out including ones that weren’t mentioned in the Volgun video.

This probably wasn't the best SCP to start with as it's a little complicated, and you missed it's most dangerous anomalous effect. Basically, humans and electronics perceive anything around 1501 or does as being within the norm, so when there was a breach half the staff who weren't expecting a breach simply ignored it, well the half that were prepared for a breach at any moment reacted to it. Foundation headquarters didn't respond to the site's requests because they weren't expecting the site to have a breach, so they never acknowledged the messages. The doctor didn't hear what Joe said because the responses weren't normal, so he and the recording heard what was expected from a interview.

If you want some recommendations, check out "SCP 3008 | The infinite IKEA" by TheVolgun which is a lot simpler to understand then this SCP. Also check out "EXPLAINED the SCP mobile task forces" by MR Illustrated if you want to understand the military of the Foundation.

@@johnlong8439TheVolgun is the best experience on every level compared to other SCP content except for visual, whereas MR Illustrated only excels with his drawings, and that he covers lore that isn't in an SCP document. This isn't a downplay of MR Illustrated as he is very good, Volgun's audio is just so phenomenal that it elevates the experience. If you absolutely need visuals, then MR Illustrated or The Exploring Series are the way to go, but otherwise, Volgun is the best.

Because so far you've mentioned 2 reasons why scp illustrated is better and only one for volgun 😂 if you absolutely require movie level voice acting to get immersed then thevolgun is the way to go, but Mr. Illustrated edges out in literally every other category. @johnlong8439 TheVolgun presents SCPs lore as it's on the wiki well also offering great *ambiance and voice acting* (that's 2 things since I have to clarify), well MR Illustrated has little to no ambience and subpar voice acting, additionally MR Illustrated can only have so many drawings, so the majority of his videos is still audio focused. TheVolgun also does not mix up stories, unlike MR Illustrated, who combines different entries without it being obvious, and that can muddle things especially for newcomers. Even MR Illustrated drawings are only ok, and there are plenty of other equal or better visual options but most of them are content farms, so honestly it's the fact that he isn't a content farm is the only reason to check him out. Also, I only mentioned one thing that MR Illustrated did better and that was having visuals, even those are blown out of the water whenever TheVolgun does have visuals. If you ment covering different content that doesn't make MR Illustrated better, since if that's a judge of quality (which it shouldn't) then TheVolgun is better as he has a lot more content of different and unique SCP's.

He mentions things that arent on the page like his 076 video.. but thats a good thing? Whenever its his own input he clarifies at the beginning of the video and the other times he just uses parts that are linked to that scp, like in his Able video volgun doesn't cover his involvement with the Mtf, which is something quite crucial. Off the top of my head thats the only one I could think of, but the rest is subjective. Objectively, Mr illustrated mentions things thevolgun doesn't. Which is a reason to watch him. And plus there's 20 reactors who watch volgun and volgun ONLY 💀 like fuck can I just get on reactor actually react to me illustrated 😭

Mr. Illustrated is one of my favorite SCP channels. Volgun plays around with sound to deliver the SCP experience while Mr. Illustrated draws out the stories and SCP files. Edit: A classic is SCP-096. To explain Joe's anomalous abilities, he looks so unextraordinary as a human being is that whatever he does or says is interpreted differently, specifically, what people EXPECT a person that'd look like him would say or do. In effect, it's the Halo Effect taken to an anomalous extreme. Let me explain it like this: Imagine a Trekkie, a dude that looks like THE MOST die-hard Star Trek fan: Vulcan ears, yellow suit, that weird Visor; the works. Now you'd expect him to talk about Star Trek stuff, right, when the first thing he ACTUALLY wants to discuss is "War and Peace." Now imagine you hear what you THINK he'd say. He'd be going on about the depiction of the Napoleonic wars in deep philosophical diatribes, and all you hear him talking about is Klingon fighting rituals. Except it WASN'T a Trekkie, but a professor on Russian Literature that LOOKS like he'd be a major trekkie. THAT is what 1504 can do. He can do anything to anyone anywhere he goes if he so desires, because people wouldn't perceive him as doing anything that some normal dude wouldn't do or say.

Commenting again once more for posterity, my previous post was more meaty, and I really didn't explain well. Here's the best way to view this. The Volgun is the in-universe employee explaining anomalies to his fellows. SCP Illustrated (now called Mr. Illustrated) is the storyteller that gives you various perspectives like an author would. The Exploring Series is the historian recounting particular events like how a history teacher would if they'd actually enjoy their job. PLEASE check these out as primary info sources as they're the best. I really hope you see this message.

4:51 Yea. Every Foundation site has an on-site nuke. If a containm.ent breach gets just too out of control they can set it off as an absolute last resort. The Volgun, The Exploring Series, Mr Illustrated are honestly the best 3. I would recommend the exploring series first because you're new and he give explaintions to some of the confusing and weird stuff. Most other channels are not good or not just not as good as those 3. Especially not any of the animated the channels. They often get info wrong, cut too much stuff, and/or just make stuff up. Also if you want a creepy scp I do recommend SCP-2316 Field Trip by TheVolgun. If you wanted to learn more about the SCP universe I would recommend The Exploring Series video on the Church of the Broken God or whatever group of interest you want.

After you look into SCP-096, One of the popular ones, I'd also watch the SCP-096 short film that was made by the channel MrKlay. It's a really well made video. Also as far as I'm aware, these vids weren't made into official SCPs, but SCP Overlord and SCP Dollhouse are pretty fun watches that follow SCP "MTF" (Mobile Task Force) on some missions. It's very much in line with how some missions in terms of theme in the scp universe go.

Most SCP are best just read, and the Volgun delivers that in spades. Then, there are other SCP's, groups/persons of interest, and some of the entities in the universe that require knowledge of other SCPs or literature, or just require some deeper thought and discussion. For those, I'd suggest the explaining series.

Volgun has consistently high quality! Highly recommend sticking with him as default if you aren't sure. The Exploring Series is another one you should highly consider. Their content is like Volgun's, but not really into presentation as much as they are really into covering all the interesting details, going into even possible explanations and popular interpretations, but without all the voice-acting and effects. I consider these two the big 'S-tier' creators, but if you want something with a bit more to look at/watch in terms of visuals, I'm going to make a sort of controversial recommendation in recommending SCP Explained rather than the more respected Dr. Bob. SCP Explained is made by the Infographics guys, so it has that flat-corporate infograpgics style that a lot of people arent a fan of, and a lot of people are still pretty against them due to their first batch of videos not being well-researched enough and containing some miswordings and misassumptions here and there, but trust me, aside from their early stuff, they've come to actually do a pretty good job both in research and in voice-acting, as you could tell they were really starting to have fun with the channel as their knowlege/interest in it grew, so even though they're a bit of a mixed bag/wildcard in terms of quality, on average I'd say they're a solid backup choice.

I would NOT recommend TheRubber as the SCP wiki and its authors utterly despise the way that channel does thing. If I were to recommend channels, I’d say look for ones that *DON’T* look cheaply made or use topical things such as FNAF in their thumbnails. All they’re doing is farming money off of a well-loved fandom. Also, with this entire community being protected by Creative Commons, be sure the video also gives credit to the SCP logs and stories the person references in the video.

i think scp 3008 the infinate ikea is one of the best scp's to start with so i recommand you do that one next or you can also pull a random number generator between 2-8000 and go with whatever you get (starts from 2 because scp's 001 are "advanced")

For animated stuff, totally check out Dr. Bob. his animated videos are just like Volguns, only animated. don't listen to people saying it's just content farming. that's for other animated scp series. I haven't explored any of the YT content based on it, but I can say my favorite was SCP-811, the Swamp Girl/Woman. Site-42 (ran by I think he is a moderator of the wiki) is a good source for live action recommendations including 096, Class R, and the series There is no Antimemetics Department. gonna be honest, I did NOT expect 1504 to be the first SCP you looked at, usually the first ones people go for are the more popular ones like 049, 096, or 106, but this is a welcome surprise as 1504 is pretty interesting anyways, I do recommend checking out the ones I mention above by Volgun, especially 049 since Volgun is actually the official voice for 049, and if you want something slightly more complex, take a look at 2316 and 7819 (which volgun went all out with)

Day 98 of asking you to react to epic the musical. Your very first scp being Joe schmoe is not what I would recommend, but you do you i guess. I think after this do the mainstream ones like shy guy, living statue(penut), old man, the hard to destroy reptile, and infinite ikea one i would recommened once your more into the community is scp 5000 it puts the whole universe on its head. The channel i would recommend is scp explained I think it is they give fun animations for each scp. 4:51, they have those for obvious reasons like things getting to out of hand. 7:09 we love blunt force trauma to knock someone out. 9:12 we love when "on site nukes" are detonated to destroy and unkillable thing.

im not sure if you missed it since you were talking over it, but bascially the main quality of scp 1504 is that any action or choice made by 1504 will be considered as the norm or something expected by everyone and everything around him. If he kills anyone, no one would do anything since they will perceive it as normal. Only in isolation will people truly see things for what they really are.

Wall of text sorry lol You'll see this as you continue, but this SCP (both the article on the website, as well as how it's presented in the video) doesn't follow the standard format. There are other examples you'll encounter, 2316 most definitely being the first of them, but the way in which they stand out is better when you've seen some regular ones to have as a point of reference. People have already pointed out avoiding the cheap animation content farm channels. They alter the original article to make it more palatable to kids (as well as more marketable, by deliberately replacing non-white characters with white ones, or obscuring the relevance of a female Foundation personnel). They either focus on the wrong thing, misunderstand the premise, or just decide to stop adhering to the article and making stuff up. SCPs to recommend, you're gonna see all the ones everyone knows, like 096 or 035, but I'd also suggest checking out some more obscure ones. The Volgun has a video on SCP-3513, which is a VERY bizarre, but VERY interesting concept. Messed up SCPs that are well known include 231, 3288, and 4666. The latter two of those would require some editing in terms of words used. If you want something sad, 1762. If you want something heartwarming, 999, 4999, 5031. If you want something funny, 1470. If you want one that's really long and interesting, 507. If you want one that's both interesting AND influenced an entire type of anomalous effect that's still prevalent on the site, 055. I'm biased toward this one, but I'd say it's good a good foundation to understand some of the things you'll see down the line. The Volgun has a video for all the ones I've mentioned. :)

Here are the ones I personally recommend: therubber, scp explained story and animation, dr. bob, scp orientation, and dr. maxwell. I personally feel that those would be the most reliable for learning about SCPs. Just so you know.

Only react to mr illustrated and The exploring series, these are the only other scp channels that are amazing, and the rest are really just content farms, please don't watch anything aside from those. If you want some recommendations for each channel that I just brought up. There's a long one called "what happened to site 13 by the exploring series. If you want to watch something from mr illustrated, watch the bear with a patchwork heart. IT's a really cute SCP, and if you want something not cute, and somewhat crazy, watch the Builder Bear. Do not get these mixed up, you'll be very concerned if so.

The 2 best scp channels I highly recommend for you are "DR Bob" and "The Rubber."

I'd recommend watching The Rubber or SCP Explained. They give detailed information about the SCPs but add animated videos so you can follow along with what they're saying
