Hearing your intro again after more than 7 years brings back so many childhood memories. I was really into collecting crystals when I was younger. I used to watch your videos over and over again lol. Then I got busier as I grew older, I'm 21 years old now. You and your husband were a big part of my childhood. May he rest in peace

Awesome to see you back and out again, Wals spirit is strong with you. He will be greatly missed. The Bluetti units are reliable and well built I've taken mine around Oz twice in past couple of years and run my off grid home with it. Solar panels are a varied bunch and after burning cells on a couple of cheaper branded blankets I opted for Redrarc ones, Bluetti has a purpose built charger for 12v and is cheaper than dc/dc charging for about the same time. I'll be back on the road from Tassie in beginning of May. Good luck!

I loved this video and chance to go prospecting with you on your first solo trip. You are one tough cookie and your late husband would be thrilled that you are continuing to enjoy what you shared together. Having watched some of your other most recent videos I also wanted to say how disappointing and devastating it must have been for you to have attracted unwanted attention from people you thought were friends. As I sit here tonight battling another bought of major depression, your videos, your humour and your strength are so uplifting, thank you Liz for sharing with us ❤

Oh hey Liz, happy to see you again, out camping and prospecting again. I know Wal is there with you! That Bluetti sounds like a handy gadget to have--we were hit by a tornado this spring, and had no power for a few days. Us kids have been talking about getting either a generator or a power bank like the Bluetti, to keep our Mom's needs going in case of another power outage. Thank you for the recommendation!
@LizKreate15 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for watching, and I hope you enjoyed the video. I'm glad to hear that the Bluetti is a good option for your family in case of a power outage. AC70 is ideal for camping for me because of the weight, but if I were to get one for the house, I would pick a bigger unit with 500watt solar panel. Then I'm ready for techno-apocalypse. 😁 Wishing you all the very best for the year ahead!🥰

I have been wondering about this for road trips now and then.I appreciated your simple way of expressing things .I'm 81yrs old and don't understand all the technical stuff.Just need to know what small cooking appliances I can use to cook with.I have seen where some say if you use your car cigarette lighter to cook or charge power station you'll burn up the alternator.I have a Rav 4,2013.Can it be used directly while traveling without any other wiring.Any suggestions would be appreciated .Thanks.
@LizKreate10 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching, Diana. I too am not very technical but this is what I understood. Car batteries are designed to deliver very high amps for very short periods of time, mainly to start the engine, and then to be immediately recharged by driving the car. They are not designed to be left partly discharged for any length of time(as when used for cooking). If the battery is use without immediately starting the motor and letting it run long enough to fully recharge it, it’ll have a higher chance of damaged and the likelihood of flat battery leaving you stranded. We have a factory installed second battery(auxiliary) with an inverter connected directly to the battery. I just recently replaced(5 years use), 2 heavy duty deep cycle batteries, wired in series for 12V, and connected to a battery isolator between the alternator and the battery starter. This keeps the load away from the starter battery and channels charging to the auxiliary battery while in use for our fridge, charging detectors, camera and light. But I wouldn’t/never use it for cooker or high power devices. Even the small kettle since any appliance that requires heat will consume a lot of power, leaving the battery flat and might also damage it. And this is where a portable power bank that is chargeable via grid, solar panel and also "cigarette lighter plug(starter battery)" while driving is a safer option. So yes to your question. Your Rav 4 cigarette lighter plug can be used to charge the Bluetti AC 70(or similar power bank) without any modifications to your battery system, while on the road/driving/engine running. Unless of course one is prepared to spend big money on a heavy duty battery... Even a minimum 12v 100ah deep cycle battery will still set you back around AU$350, and will last depending on use (5 to 6 years). Plus the cost of the set-up and will take up more space in the car. Compare this with the cost of a portable power station (8 years minimum) is much better cost effective option. You can also use it as a back up power for the home during black outs to power your fridge, water pump, TV, etc. Wishing you all the very best on your travels. Take care and stay safe. 🥰
