I just want to say how much I appreciate the fact that you work a night and instead of going home for a good sleep, you’re climbing and hiking for miles. And for my enjoyment half a world away, you add the additional hassle of carrying camera gear, drone and batteries. I just want you to know I very much appreciate it. Thank you so much.

Nice one Andy. Reminded me of my mountain biking days up there back in the early 2000’s. Lovely and quiet but certainly not to be underestimated in terms of ascent. It’s very up and down. I also believe the Howgills themselves are known as “sleeping elephants” due to how they look with their steep but rolling terrain resembling elephants laying down on their side. ATB pal 🙏🏻

Made sure I made time to watch this tonight! Thanks for the info on the parking and route 👍🏻 Looks like it worked out good as your original plan never worked. Wow mate stunning and Cautley Spout looks amazing 😍 Loved that reaction with the jets mate haha brilliant... I miss working with military craft in my previous job, they can come pretty quick and if they're giving it a bit the sound won't be far behind them. Thing is when you're in the solitude you was casually making your video I bet they did indeed make you jump out your skin 😅 nice one for leaving that bit in though haha superb 👏🏻👏🏻 I know this sounds weird lol but when I see military craft and I get memories then amonst mountains making new memories there is just too much excitement for me to cope with sometimes 😂😂 After speaking to you yesterday I'm definitely gonna do this route you did I think looks epic, bit of a steep one in parts like lol but awesome and all adds to the fun. Cool how you can see to the Lakes on a clear day. Are those bottle holders added to your straps mate or built into the pack? Calf summit looks cool, you picked an awesome spot though and love the shelter, Terra Nova do make some awesome kit and cool how they sent it ya👌🏻 plus you got to test it out a bit with some testing winds. Glad you checked and ticked off more of the Dale's 30 👏🏻💯 Nice frosty morning, awesome cloud clearance and epic drone footage. Bang on. Yeah mate you gotta get those enduro batteries for the cold. Even on the Gopro 11 the stupid blue batteries will have the same issues I reckon with those temps. The enduro ones for cold all day long! But I only use them now in any case I don't trust those standard blue ones, gave me too many problems and made me wana throw my gopro off the summit. I film more with just one of the enduros then I got with prob 2 blue ones and that's not even when they were playing up. Anyway I'll stop rambling now haha epic watch as always mate really did enjoy it 👍🏻 😊 ATB... Chris 🙏🏼

yeah as we were saying you deffo need to get up there mate & do some exploring i feel you'll love the place & it's so quiet..the bottle holders on the atompack are built in to the straps as standard now great pack love mine.. got two of those enduro batteries & a new sd card as that was playing up too bits of footage corrupt here & there which was pissing me off..but with the new batteries & card its been flaweless to the point even in these low temps ive been out in of late 1 battery has more or less done the full trip..tfw mate.

Yep Andy, the Scafells (and most of the major Lakeland fells) are clearly visible from the Howgills. Calders is probably my best Howgill fell as I like the way the land falls away south at your feet down into Hobdale Gill.....pretty dramatic. There are two more Dales 30s in the Howgills (Fell Head and Randygill Top), do you need to do those? They're good too. I use the Enduro batteries and touch wood they have been reliable. Anyroad, top-notch vid pal......I always enjoy watching stuff about my beloved Howgills. 😍. ATB, Chris

Good to see you on the Howgills. Great hills where you can stride out all day. Away from the main drag up to the The Calf it's usually nice and quiet, a good spot for Bank Holidays. The sheepfold was designed by Andy Goldsworthy but built by a local drystone waller. Plenty of jets about recently UK Typhoons and USAF F15 Eagles... noisy buggers! I barely use the GoPro these days, Lumix G80 and Osmo Pocket, Rode Wireless Go mics.👌 It's a fair pull onto Yarlside from the col🤔😂 even more up that ridge you went up! I discovered the joys of the Howgills for the first time last summer and did the very same walk as you. On another note you mentioning the Dales30 has caught my interest and I’ve gone and ordered the Dales30 book off Where2Walk. I’ve seen your confidence grow producing these videos Andy and hope you’re getting a buzz from the positive feedback. Keep up the good work and as a suggestion why not do a dedicated series on the Dales30? I don’t suppose it’s been done before on KZbin and is obviously very doable. Take care mate.
@AndrewBeavers Жыл бұрын
have to admit i do really like the place its like nothing else how the hills roll along like they do..got the exact same book too when i started looking into the dales 30..something i could look at but id have to start again lol as ive done nearly half now.
@jonm4989 Жыл бұрын
@@AndrewBeavers It doesn’t surprise me that you’ve done half of the Dales 30 already. Glenn from Black Crag started his Wainwright series recently and said he’d do them all in the same order as the books (despite having walked and filmed many already). I think his series is working really well and he very much comes across as a man on a mission. I guess one of the beauties of filming the Dales 30 would be the relative ease and I guess you could always default to the favoured routes from the book. Lastly I don’t suppose anyone’s done it on KZbin and it will give a boost to the Dales. Anyhow I’m sure your content will continue to be great regardless Andy. Best of luck to you.
