I had numbness in my left fingers that would travel up my arm before I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I also had visual disturbances. When I was 8 months pregnant, I had a seizure and the doctors couldn’t figure out why. I was induced at 38 weeks because I had another seizure. The day after my son was born, I had a seizure in the hospital. I got sent to have a MRI and was diagnosed with brain cancer while holding my newborn son. Had a successful brain surgery 2 weeks later. That was 10 years ago. Both my son and I are thriving today.

I'm so sorry but so thrilled at your happy ending! Unfortunately I cannot say the same for my Grammy. She retired after 65yrs working as an educator+owning a bakery, a published poet, couturier, National Treasure retired on 1/1+was dead on 4/1. 3 months to a woman who gave literally everything she could. We didn't even know she was sick-being turned away from the ER 3x’s! An 82-year-old woman?! Who hadn’t been to a Dr since 1962 giving birth to my Aunt! April Fool’s Day…and I thought she’d last forever. She was the MC of the St.Patrick’s Day parade+dropped dead 11 days later. Yeah.

@Purplefrog03 It's not! I'm 26 and I thought the same my entire life as well. This past year I developed a mystery seizure disorder and one of the first things the neuro asked me was do I have a history of migraines. Turns out the aura for migraines can be very similar to the aura for seizures. Still figuring stuff out myself but in this process I've learned there are things that can be done to control migraines. You don't have to suffer for the rest of your life! Talk to your doctor, you never know if you don't try 😉

I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2019. After many tests, they discovered it as benign but it is growing up through the optic nerve on my right eye and eventually I will lose sight in that eye. They wanted to perform surgery, but since the tumor is growing up through the middle of the brain they cannot make any promises of what could or couldn't happen. The tumor was only discovered because I was diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism and during the x-rays before the surgery they discovered the brain tumor. Lucky for me I don't have any symptoms. I have chosen not to have surgery. I have just known several people that have had brain tumors and their life was never the same after they had surgery. I continue to live a normal life knowing that probably one day I will lose a vision in my right eye and the tumor may possibly cause other problems but for now I have chosen not to do surgery. Your story is of interest to me. I am thankful that you are doing well. 💗

There are a lot of approaches that can be done in that location for a tumor. You should seek out a few more opinions (especially from people that work in that location for brain tumors) before accepting loss of vision. If that is your choice after you have all of the possible information so be it. You should just be sure you know all of the possible information first.

I learned that I needed to rewire my brain & started pretend laughter when feelings came. After a couple of times it was over..till a year later. Back it came..But this time..I remembered what to do more or less straight away.. so spoke out loud positive uplifting words & laughed. I never let it take hold..& its gone.

I was dismissed by several doctors ûntil I could barely walk. I finally found a neurologist who took me seriously and ordered an immediate MRI. I had a huge tumor compressing my spinal cord and was taken by ambulance for emergency surgery. If I had been taken seriously months earlier I would not have a rod and eight pins in my back. I don't want to freak anyone out but these tumors (méningiomas) are common in peri and ménopausal women due to hormone fluctuations. Suze Orman (the finàncial celeb) had the exact same tumor that I had. My mom brought the article in People magazine for me to read while I was in the hospital. Like I said, I don't want to worry you, but numbness needs to be taken very seriously. It could just be a pinched nerve or something else but please advocate for yourself!! ❤️

My left side from head to toe slumped. It turned out to be a seizure. When the ambulance me got to the hospital and I had an MRI it was discovered I had a brain tumor. It was benign but needed to come out since it was causing problems. During my surgery I could've had a fatal stroke, but had a smaller one instead that took out my olfactory system. This was in 2017. I had to relearn to walk and small motor skills and frontal lobe problems. I still can't walk hardly at all even though this happened when I was 48 and I'm almost 56 now.

Wierd how I just went thru it the other day & now I come across this video I wish I had come across this video before I had to figure it all out myself, been going thru this for a few years now along with high blood pressure, it feels like I’m gonna die & it is pretty serious as I did research & could actually trigger a heart attack, stroke or coma , possibly never wake up. I have an appt tomorrow with a doctor who confirmed my theory about the numb, tingling feelings of my potassium level shutting down, something no other doctor I’ve seen had figured out😳this doctor actually agreed with me 💯🙏

Same here, started with a tingle that would not go away for two hours, later started having tonic clonic seizures, but I was living alone so had no idea what happened to me, until one time my partner was there to see it happen. The doctors would not believe me until they asked if I had headaches and then I was finally allowed to get an MRI (had to wait one month for it still without seizure medication…). It was baseball sized by the time it gave any symptoms- was growing more than ten years without a sign. I lived in many different countries and did all my degrees with a brain tumor unknowingly. And still came out lucky as I did not need radiation or chemo “just” surgery. It’s been 3 years and there is no progress, but I can’t work due to fatigue that never goes away. It’s primary brain tumor/cancer in the right fronto-temporal region for people who are looking for hope.

I was lucky I got to the hospital within a couple hours in order to be treated with (I think it was) TPA. Fixed me up! My point is that if I had not got to the hospital in time they would not have been able to treat me with that cure! Don't wait if you have such symptoms!

My brain tumor symptoms were my left leg shaking violently, headache, passing out and then I was visiting my father at his home and I collapsed and had a seizure in front of him. He demanded that I go to a doctor. They did 5 catscans before they found it. June 2014 I was operated on by 2 surgical teams my neurosurgeon was not optimistic for my survival chances and being paralyzed if I did survive the 1st part of the operation the 2nd surgical team had to remove where the tumor had entwined itself into my spinal cord. I did survive and the first thing I did was move my legs and arms in the bed in the ICU to see if I was or wasn't paralyzed. Everything was good. 10 years ago figured I am on bonus time now. Don't ever not enjoy life because when you might lose it is a possibility it changes what's important and don't sweat the small stuff anymore and don't dwell on negativity be positive it matters to you and those you care about.

Must be nice to have insurance and a way to pay for such expensive medical care. What a blessing
