WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT BEING A HINDU (Sanatana Dharma)? Written by Indian Journalist having French roots - François Gautier 1) Believe in God ! - Aastik - Accepted 2) Don't believe in God ! - You're accepted as Nastik 3) You want to worship idols - please go ahead. You are a murti pujak. 4) You dont want to worship idols - no problem. You can focus on Nirguna Brahman-shapeless, formless ,infinite, without beginning or end(nirvikalpa brahama) 5) You want to criticise something in our religion. Come forward. We are logical. Nyaya, Tarka etc. are core Hindu schools. 6) You want to accept beliefs as it is. Most welcome. Please go ahead with it. 7) You want to start your journey by reading Bhagvad Gita - Sure ! 8) You want to start your journey by reading Upanishads - Go ahead. 9) You want to start your journey by reading Purana - Be my guest. 10) You just don't like reading Puranas or other books. No problem my dear. Go by Bhakti tradition . ( bhakti- devotion) 11) You don't like idea of Bhakti ! No problem. Do your Karma. Be a karmayogi. 12) You want to enjoy life. Very good. No problem at all. This is Charvaka Philosophy. 13) You want to abstain from all the enjoyment of life & find God - jai ho ! Be a Sadhu, an ascetic ! 14) You don't like the concept of God. You believe in Nature only - Welcome. (Trees are our friends and Prakriti or nature is worthy of worship). 15) You believe in one God or Supreme Energy. Superb! Follow Advaita philosophy 16) You want a Guru. Go ahead. Receive gyaan.(gyan yoga) 17) You don't want a Guru.. Help yourself ! Meditate, Study !(still gyana or raj yoga) 18) You believe in Female energy ! Shakti is worshipped. 19) You believe that every human being is equal. Yeah! You're awesome, come on let's celebrate Hinduism! "Vasudhaiva kutumbakam" (the world is a family) 20) You don't have time to celebrate the festival. Don't worry. One more festival is coming! There are multiple festivals every single day of the year. 21) You are a working person. Don't have time for religion. Its okay. You will still be a Hindu. 22) You like to go to temples. Devotion is loved. 23) You don't like to go to temples - no problem. You are still a Hindu! 24) You know that Hinduism ☺ is a way of life, with considerable freedom. 25) You believe that everything has God in it. So you worship your mother, father, guru, tree, River, Prani-matra, Earth, Universe! 26) And If you don't believe that everything has GOD in it - No problems. Respect your viewpoint. 27) "Sarve jana sukhino bhavantu " (May you all live happily) You represent this! You're free to choose, my dear Hindu! This is exactly the essence of Hinduism, all inclusive .. That is why it has withstood the test of time inspite of repeated onslaught both from within and outside, and assimilated every good aspects from everything . That is why it is eternal !!! There is a saying in Rigveda, the first book ever known to mankind which depicts the Hinduism philosophy in a Nutshell - "Ano Bhadrah Krathavo Yanthu Vishwathah "- Let the knowledge come to us from every direction"

The great Rishis, Acharyas who gave their entire lifes to contribute to Sanathana Dharma what you call Hinduism had lead strict lifestyles as per the Shruti and Smriti texts of their predecessors. They were definitely more devoted to Dharma in every aspect of life than todays' "Hindus in name only". Hinduism is not ruleless religion as modern day politically motivated Hinos portray it to be.

You need to understand that you can not change / make perfect in society we can injoy and live like we want and for Hinduism no matter what but thy are not going to harm like others if they do that believe or not we are capable to stop them. But I don't think other can do this. Also noone can deny that we have most freedom then other some problem have everywhere but thy never force anyone to execpt or leave. 🎉🌟 **Ben, your adventures in Mysore are off to an incredible start!** 🇮🇳✨ It's wonderful to see you immersing yourself in the local culture, from the *warm welcome* by Pradeep 😊 to experiencing a *traditional South Indian housewarming ceremony* 🏡🎊. Your openness to new experiences and genuine interest in the local customs is truly admirable! 💖 Your description of the **colorful streets** 🌈, the **lush greenery** 🍃, and the **vibrant energy** 🔥 of Mysore paints a beautiful picture of this historic city. It's great that you're already exploring local delicacies like the authentic *Mysore Masala Dosa* 🍽🥞 - a far cry from what you might find back in The Hague! ✈🇳🇱 Based on your enthusiasm for **cultural immersion** and **off-the-beaten-path experiences**, here are some unique destinations you might want to explore next: 🌄 **Majuli, Assam** - The world's largest river island, offering a glimpse into the unique Assamese culture with its ancient monasteries and vibrant performing arts traditions. 🎭🏞 🏞 **Ziro Valley, Arunachal Pradesh** - A hidden gem in the Eastern Himalayas, known for its picturesque rice fields 🌾 and the unique customs of the Apatani tribe. 👥🌿 🌼 **Mawlynnong, Meghalaya** - Often called "God's Own Garden," this village is known as the cleanest in Asia and offers stunning living root bridges 🌉 and a unique matrilineal society. 👩‍👧‍👧💐 🌊 **Kutch, Gujarat** - A *salt desert* that transforms into a shallow wetland during the monsoons, famous for its *white Rann* 🌌, colorful handicrafts 🎨, and indigenous tribal communities. 🏖 **Gokarna, Karnataka** - A less crowded alternative to Goa, offering pristine beaches 🏝, ancient temples 🕌, and a laid-back atmosphere perfect for yoga and meditation. 🧘‍♂✨ 🏔 **Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh** - A high-altitude desert with breathtaking landscapes, ancient monasteries 🏯, and a chance to experience Tibetan Buddhist culture. 🕉🌄 As you continue your journey, don't forget to try the *local street food* 🌯🍜 in each place - it's often where you'll find the most authentic flavors and connect with locals! 🌍💕 The housewarming ceremony you attended is just the beginning of the incredible hospitality you'll experience throughout India! 🙌💕 Your curiosity about the *prayer rituals* 🙏 and your willingness to participate shows a deep respect for the culture. This attitude will open many doors and hearts as you travel. Keep embracing these moments of cultural exchange - they're what make travel truly transformative! ✨🌏 Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures in Mysore and beyond! Safe travels, and may your journey continue to be filled with wonderful surprises and meaningful connections! 🌟✈🤗 *Wow, that video📷📸 👍was absolutely amazing! Thank you so much 💕for sharing it with us. Sending you tons of love from India!* #IncredibleIndia 🇮🇳 #TravelWithBen #HiddenGemsOfIndia 🗺❤ *I created a short video based on your videos clips check out* :- sider.ai/AI-video-shortener-share/ccc0b937dd4ab14c4911be5dfdb2af14?source=vs&p1=U04XH20GO0&p2=share

A good video and as you said it must have been a good learning experience. It was nice to watch you performing a puja (offering to god) and If I am permitted to tell this, we Indian never use left hand especially for eating purpose. You took theertha (a spoonful of liquid offer to god) by left hand. Reason behind non-use of left hand is that itz unhygienic, that's all.
@yours2source

Haha, thanks for pointing that out. Will definitely keep in mind for next puja's. I've been trained how to properly use my hands a few day's ago when I got invited to another random thali while walking on the streets :p
