Just some TCG Advice: When Jevin was helping Impulse build his deck, he recommended an 8 Hermit Card, 18 Item Card, and 16 Effect Card ratio. He advised that you specialize in 1 Hermit type, though two types are also acceptable because you're more likely to pull the wrong kind of item card with a varied deck than a specialized one. Furthermore, he stressed that you want to increase the rate you acquire new cards during gameplay to gain an advantage over your opponent. Rare TFC, Flint & Steel, Fishing Rod, and Composter are great for building card advantage. This advice also applies to Rare Grian, Chest, Mending, and Looting to a lesser extent. Jevin said the Rare Joe, Rare Doc, TNT, and Chorus Fruit are good general-use cards. I edited this comment because I realized I miscounted Jevin's ratio. I originally wrote 7-18-17, which is wrong. Furthermore, I accidentally said that Jevin helped Tango and not Impulse. If there are any further discrepancies, I would not be surprised and would like you to tell me.

Having played Pokemon and MTG, I agree with most of what Jev says there, but I think he's forgetting that if you only have one Hermit and lose it, you lose. I think going down to 15 effects and going up to 9 Hermits is a bit better, personally.

@@345tom Also don't forget that if you run out of cards you also lose, so you want to be careful. A turtle strat might be the counter to a card draw strat. The rare False and Bduds cards with healing potions and armour would be a strong counter I feel like.

I think 8 hermits should be the minimum, maybe even going up to 10. But I guess with enough card draw you could play 7 (as long as that card draw is not conditional like the TFC card).

Because I think most long games will end at around 30 cards drawn, so you would need to stretch it for 12 more turns to run them out of cards. All while they are drawing more effect cards like TNT that can counter your turtle strategy... Although if you get diamond or even netherite armor, anything is possible.

@@Lightning_Lance diamond/netherite Bdubs can tank just about anything, although the rare Stress can ohko any hermit with her special attack so that could be a decent counter to turtle strats. Using effects to remove their effect cards will likely also become very relevant as people refine their decks.

Having blue fire plus the lava buckets is such a genius move because water buckets are kinda rare (?) plus no one seems to be collecting those a lot, so it might not seem like much but the damage sure does build over time. Also that rare Iskall? It's such a great card given that a lot of the starter decks seem to be either builder or redstone/farmer based

I loved that match with you and Doc, especially with all the hermits around with their commentary, and Cleo makes for the best ref in my opinion; she's always got something sassy and witty to say. I love how much you and your fellow hermits have been embracing TCG. Those that haven't are just missing out, for real. question to ask to Beef, when does Bdubs recover his health ? On the turn he go to sleep, or when he wake up ? Logically i would say when he wakes up... this can make a huge difference PS : to make it simple, you can not attack when you deliberatly choose to wake up an AFK hermit, and on the first turn because there is nothing to attack

There should be a special powerboost if you have 5 of the same type fully maxed out with the same item, so 5 cards with redstone, with 15 redstone would unlock a multiplier attack. allowing you to add 1 attack of the lower power one of a different hermit

Also my opinion for the Bdubs and all other cards. Active is upright. afk faces the opponent and Bdubs would face away on the first turn and down on the second turn then returning to upright on the third or active turn.

This could've gone so much smoother if someone who knew MTG and HCG was there. They could've better compared items to mana, effects to sorceries, and "types" to colors. And I think ALL of this would've made 1000x more sense to you Ren. But either way I'm stoked to see this happening. You really set a ball rolling with Hermitron go back in season 5 (was it 6?). You should be proud of the evolution CCGs have had on Hermitcraft and gaming in general

I think a continuous damage deck might work to your advantage in a drawn out game but Armour effects are abundant too so make sure you stick too a low mana high damage Hermit config

It think once you have a few more cards and more experience with the game you could make a pretty cool boomer deck with TNT, lava buckets and crossbows and some high damage hermits like Etho, yourself and Gem. It would be a great quick deck with the aim of doing as much damage as fast as possible.

Easy fix for the confusion would be separation of the effect cards in to attachments for cards that require a hermit to atk for the effect and change the other to trap/power cards playable with no atk for the effect. game would work better in a yu-gi-oh gen1 format simpler style.

I'm dieing inside, because Doc uses 'pull' (German: 'ziehen' ) instead of 'draw' (German: 'ziehen' / 'zeichnen' depending on context).

not all that surprising considering tcgs are quite easy to get addicted to and are quite fun if you don't get into too many heated debates over the rules. there's a reason why there's hundreds of tcgs in the world (although pokemon, mtg and yugioh are by far the most played) and that's because people easily get hooked into them

I feel like BDubs can be a really powerful delaying card by repeatedly Shreeping until you draw what you want…but otherwise those two turns are brutal unless you keep the Shreep going
