I’m surprised markets in China are still this old fashioned, considering it’s an economic superpower

@8:45 - that's relatively a quick death for the fish actually. Nature is much crueller.

Hello Rafael Merry Chistmas I have been to that market , and my Chinese associates purchased a lot of different seafood which we took a cooking place/restaurant inside the wet-market to eat. These are restaurant inside the wet market that do only the cooking of whatever sea-food and vegetable customers will bring in , They will only supply rice. Superb experience --- I also experienced similar situation in the wet market of Manila Thank you Rafael for your nice videos

That big wet market would be an experience. I could not buy fish if it was not despatched quickly with a thin steel wire or have head cut quickly, cutting a fish up whist it's alive seems unnecessarily cruel to me.

I didn't see the cutting part but it appears there's a lot of blood indicating that the gills weren't cut and blood wasn't drained, as a fisherman I can tell you this can spoil the taste of the meat and cutting the fishes gills is a more humane way of putting down the fish
@RafaGoesAround2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info. It’s interesting to know. I decided not to show the cutting part clearly because I found it a bit too cruel. I hope I’m not being too sensitive haha

Chinese cuisine must be cooked from extremely fresh food materials. Guess that is why there are so many wet markets exit. In the country I live in , it is called the fish market, similar function but different names. lol
