You have to understand most of that was a lot of common sense to him. He does all types of art, check out his other videos and you’ll see so many styles of art he’s tried, he even challenges himself in a lot of ways, I’m sure if you have studied, tried and actually put in as much effort in art as he does, you’ll have similar results if not better then his. If he only had basic knowledge of art and attempted pixel art, that piece of pixel art would look a lot different even if he had went to tutorials. Anyways, In the end just practice art in general and see if your pixel art skills increase or not.

You know it's a really healthy ad relationship between company and creator when the viewers look forward to videos sponsored by them. I for one get really excited when Jazza does a video with Skillshare because I know I'm in for an adventure into a new kind of art and creativity! Watching you have fun and discover new things is fun for us too. It's important that advertisers know that their ads are being received well, so make sure to let them know that Jazza sent you, and how much you enjoy these videos! It makes me sad when people complain about advertised content. Jazza is a man with a family to support, and he's living all our dreams; he makes art for a living! Remember to support him and show your appreciation. We've got one of the sweetest communities on KZbin. Sorry, I'll get off my soap box. You really captured what pixel art is all about, conveying a lot of detail and information with a small amount pixels, forcing the viewer to "see between the pixels" almost like "reading between the lines" in a book. Great job!

Jazza, there is no semi-transparent pixels in authentic SNES pixel art. It's either completely transparent or completely opaque. You could've done a transparency effect using the technique you learned at: 3:44 Also, try using the least amount of colors necessary since the console displays up to 256 colors. Color space that could be saved up or used for other sprites and while we are at it try having a uniform set of colors so everything fits together and doesn't look like they came from different games. P.s. Lava glows.

Ive always felt like pixel art is a lot easier and alot more simple than drawing because the smaller resolution of pixel art makes it easier for me to comprehend what to do to make the thing i want to make and easier for me to spot and correct mistakes also because with pixel art its like I'm building with colored blocks on a grid so i feel more in control compared to drawing

Yes, pixel art showcase ftw! Seriously, though... Pixel art seems to be a very niche community that few people enjoy unless the images are used in games. I remember being asked all the time in high school (ten years ago) "Hey, what're you making, a game?" No, brah. I'm making art, just using MSPaint, tiny canvas space, and limited color palette because I enjoy to. And ten years later, three people on my Twitch streams asked me the same thing, only this time - Yes, I am trying to make a game. Love the appreciation of all things art, Jazza. You da man, dude!

I think the logic is simple, create a canvas with a multiplier of your tile, say you have tiles of 64x64, then you create a canvas of 64*n x 64 * n, where n is a number you pick, let's say n=10, 64*10 = 640, so your canvas is 640x640. Set your grid to 64x64. Draw a rectangle (any color) of 64x64 and convert it to a smart layer. Duplicate that rectangle in horisontal direction, then duplicate everything in vertical, grid aligned Jump into your smart layer by double clicking on it and it will open a new window tab. Put it asside from your main project side and start your pixel art. When you save the smart object document it will update the main doc. Do the same for other tiles and you can position the smart objects as you wish. Because smart objects are shared resources all your changes will propagate on the duplicates. Have fun 👍
