You have to understand most of that was a lot of common sense to him. He does all types of art, check out his other videos and you’ll see so many styles of art he’s tried, he even challenges himself in a lot of ways, I’m sure if you have studied, tried and actually put in as much effort in art as he does, you’ll have similar results if not better then his. If he only had basic knowledge of art and attempted pixel art, that piece of pixel art would look a lot different even if he had went to tutorials. Anyways, In the end just practice art in general and see if your pixel art skills increase or not.

I for one get really excited when Jazza does a video with Skillshare because I know I'm in for an adventure into a new kind of art and creativity! Watching you have fun and discover new things is fun for us too. Jazza, there is no semi-transparent pixels in authentic SNES pixel art. It's either completely transparent or completely opaque. You could've done a transparency effect using the technique you learned at: 3:44 Also, try using the least amount of colors necessary since the console displays up to 256 colors. Color space that could be saved up or used for other sprites and while we are at it try having a uniform set of colors so everything fits together and doesn't look like they came from different games. P.s. Lava glows.

Part of the reason why some people find pixel art so attractive is that it leaves room for imagination, tickling the creative parts of the brain just right. Also, the Diablo series does indeed have amazing, atmospheric soundtracks!

So refreshing to see Jazza do pixel art.. I loved doing pixel art when I used to play a mobile Zelda-inspired game called Graal Online 😬 You were able to make your own character in the game using pixel art. Which was a really cool concept.

He has a good art background, it's easier/faster to pick up something when you already have the fundamentals. Like i'm a programmer and i pick up new languages super easy because i already know the basics and just have to learn the specifics

I've dabbled in pixel art before. It's fun as hell and I've just mostly done objects for Deviantart profile decorations and what not. It's both hard, and quite easy. I don't think I could ever get into drawing people or whatever but it's still fun. And you did a phenomenal job Jazza!
Okay you gotta agree his potion looked like a health potion from Minecraft

Can you make tutorial how to setup ps like that at 4:49 and further more. Short pixelart tutorial sort of...
@spider8533 жыл бұрын
I think the logic is simple, create a canvas with a multiplier of your tile, say you have tiles of 64x64, then you create a canvas of 64*n x 64 * n, where n is a number you pick, let's say n=10, 64*10 = 640, so your canvas is 640x640. Set your grid to 64x64. Draw a rectangle (any color) of 64x64 and convert it to a smart layer. Duplicate that rectangle in horisontal direction, then duplicate everything in vertical, grid aligned Jump into your smart layer by double clicking on it and it will open a new window tab. Put it asside from your main project side and start your pixel art. When you save the smart object document it will update the main doc. Do the same for other tiles and you can position the smart objects as you wish. Because smart objects are shared resources all your changes will propagate on the duplicates. Have fun 👍
