My First Time EVER Surfing ENGLAND (Cornwall)

We woke up today in London, England. That's wild! I knew I was ready to conquer my goal of the trip & surf here in England for the first time ever. The surf forecast for Cornwall isn't exactly amazing, but I knew there was enough to make this happen. I'm beyond grateful & humbled to begin my journey of surfing every single country in the entire world. Congrats to Jordan too for making huge moves & taking massive steps to become a better surfer. FOR THE DREAM!!!

Welcome to England, driven that road a hundred times down to Cornwall, lesson 1 always leave at crack of dawn ie 0430am so you get there without traffic. That bay looked sheltered, Watergate Bay would have been bigger but glad you had fun.

Jordan get yourself some water shoes at the next surf or kayak shop. It will make filming and walking on rocks much easier and safer. Your surfing has really improved, especially your balance. Ohhhh man!! Been following you guys for years. Now you rock up to my home county and where am I...???? On the other side of the world working in Japan! Just my luck. Enjoy my beloved Cornwall guys. It is truly a magical place. Best times though, early Autumn. Waters warm, swell is more consistent, the air is fresher and the crowds are non existent. Highly recommend sampling more of Cornwall that time of year... ❤

Hey Ben & Jordan, glad you liked Cornwall. Respect for the 6-hour drive. This is what Brits chose to endure for staycations and summer surf. Little safety note:. If you see dead sea birds, don't touch kids!! The UK has cases of Avian bird flu and many poor birds are dying. Take care guys.

If youre going to cornwall from london, you need to leave london around 5.30am. That way you can already get as far as devon for breakfast. Leaving around 9am means you get there around 5pm in the eve in the summer time.

There is a novelty wave in a town called Bude at summerleaze beach - that works on the incoming tide ( 2 third tide) as it bounces off the man made sea pool and the breakwater

Ben gravy you should be checking Saint Agnes all this week when those south-westerly winds here it should have the most swell you’ll love it there Ben Skinner he’s like the worlds third best long border or something is a local there and when it goes northerly go down and check out the reefs at Porthleven!

PS Ben if you haven’t met Ben Skinner you’ll get on well with him I think his old man still stocks the bar next to the beach at Saint Agnes J will love that place perfect little beach break protected from south-westerly winds damn near offshore at that point and if the wind drops and it cleans up you can always go round the corner to Chapel porth Or a little further down the road to Porthtowan and a little further down from that is Portreath then you have a godreathy A good long board wave on its day particularly on a dropping tide from high or on the last hour or two prior to the last hour before high tide so like mid tide bro Sennen Cove is okay but if you can get directions to the next beach up from Sennen sending is the one right down on the very end of the lizard but the beach that you can see from Saturn beyond North rocks as you look across from the car park up tucked away in the northern corner is called Gwynver Your Mrs is going to love that beach bro the right hand side at high tide has a nice little boulder reef on it and there is a similar reef on the other side between North rocks and the far left hand side looking out from the beach of Gwen we But dude under the right conditions and as you’re already down here in the west and south-west of Cornwall that south coast bro particularly pro Sands and Porthleven well those waves are something else mate but you need the right conditions for it it has to be a northerly to be offshore and there has to be at least a decent swell on the West Coast or for the swell to have a lot of south in the direction hope that helps bro get out there and get some waves for me my discs are shot

PS Ben tried to give us a heads up to what beaches you’re going to in the vlog before Would love to catch up with you and share a few secret spots worth your time doing it message me back and we’ll hook up PS I’m using the Mrs youtube Account at the moment…….. it would be of benefit to you if you decide to head up towards the West Devon or North Cornish Coast on your return there are a few secret spots up there that I copped grief for even mentioning so I feel it would probably be better to talk to you on the phone or text you about it or hook up ……. Unfortunately there is still a lot of don’t tell anyone about the secret spots That part is surfing attitude sucks anyway keep me posted have a lovely time you and your Mrs congrats on the wedding as well

Stonehenge was built 4000yrs ago. The stones come from Wales hundreds of miles away. Then are positioned to the summer solstice. So they are very impressive! Shame you only did one surf at Newquay when the waves were bad. Why didn't you stay longer or check the surf before going? The British surf website is great! There is also great surfing on the north Devon coast eg Croyde, Putsborough beach etc. I was home in north Devon the last 3 weeks and we had bigger waves (which were still small due to the high). It seems odd to travel all that way for a few hrs bad surfing!

Nice one Ben .I have surfed 100 dreds of times at Morgan Porth and worked and lived just up the road from there its a great area to surf just not in peak holiday time LOL .1 foot waves rolling in on my beach Tywyn (wales)to day in looking at them out of the window .Have fun in the mountains at the wave pool.

Bro! That is the spot i caught my first ever wave. We had a little surf club when i was about 10 (the st mawgan sand eaters, just a group of a few friends getting taught by one of the dads). Still live about 20 mins from that spot and now have a 6 week old daughter im gonna teach to surf there. Shame you didnt score cornwall proper, can get sick and sooo much novelty potential. If you come back in winter, definitely surf newquay harbour and go novelty searching out west. Enjoy the rest of your trip 🤙 yeewwe

also, while talking about legends and thinking stonehenge was on a cliff, i tell you a legend that is on a cliff is King Aurthers Castle a little drive up tbe coastal road from MawganPorth. Just above Tintagel is a righthand wedge break Bossiny Haven and that place is insane, So heavy every set is potentially a clearout set as its such a bitch to duckdive, majority of time if your caught inside on a set your back on the beach.
