A charming man who’s genuinely charming because he’s open honest and vulnerable is a beautiful thing to experience . Being charming with an hidden agenda isn’t . Same goes for women .❤️

I have to get up and dance every time I hear this. Been married 50 years and as for my wife: Nobody loves me better - Makes me happy - Makes me feel this way. If you're lucky you'll find it. Nothing wrong with being charming IF it's genuine. Too many phonies out there.

The problem with charming is it has been described as Satans greatest attribute, also snakes have been discribied as charming . The word creeps me out.

I think the women you spoke to were confusing charming with sleazy. Being naturally charming is great. Using charm to manipulate someone is gross. Just be yourself and be respectable. ❤️

So glad I was a teen in the 80s and got to experience such great music! Love seeing your reaction and good advice about the red flags! Great that you learned that early!! There’s a difference between “a charmer” and a charming person. The former means a person who uses insincere flattery to get his way. The latter means someone like you, open and happy, who naturally draws people to him.

As everyone else is saying here, charm is a wonderful thing if its sincerely coming from a place of honesty. It is a terrible thing to use with dishonesty for selfish or opportunistic reasons. Just be true to who YOU are, the rest falls into place.

No one can sit still listening to this song. Her personality must be great because so many folks have sung with her... And over the years she's always had a smile on her face. Your "Red Flag" comment made me want to give you a hug/comfort... No relationship is perfect, but don't close yourself off. I don't know what charming is either... I'm a grandma.. I met my hubby when I was 17.. we've been up and down many hills over the years... But I know what attracted me to him was humor and trustworthiness. He wasn't flashy, in fact many might say he was boring, but he always made me smile. So.. my point it, just be who you are...

I LOVE that the way you get with this is exactly how it’s made me feel since I heard it in the early 80s , driving in a cozy car on dark, rainy Seattle nights ... and cranking it ! Because great music MUST be listened to at a high volume (at least half the time) . And , that bs about charming men being the devil ? You know who you are and where your heart is at , right ? Keep being your authentic self and don’t give another thought to people looking for more ways to play the victim . Are there predatory men (and women) ? Heck , yeah . Are you that ? So , keep that glow you’ve got and enjoy , enjoy . It goes by fast 💚🎼🎹🎺🎷📻🎙💋

You are so right on red flags, many of us tend to ignore them. It's true nobody's perfect, & we all have flaws, but red flags are toxic, & when u see any, remove urself from that situation ASAP! As for being charming, it can be both good & bad, but like u said bout the red flags, if you see any, run!!

Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how your whole demeanor and body language changed as this epic song and Chaka’s unmatched vocals began taking you over. Music can have such a powerful affect. I loved this song from the first time I heard it and will love it just as much the next time I hear it. This is the first time I’ve seen one of your reaction videos and I have to say I was really moved by your honesty and your beautiful spirit. Charm is a wonderful quality when it’s natural and genuine.Unfortunately, there are some who know how to use charm as a means to an end without regard to the feelings of those they affect. It can be a tough situation to gauge if you are on the receiving end of someone’s charms and you find yourself questioning your own judgment and your own instincts. Sadly, that’s a reality many people of honest and sincere intentions sometimes have to navigate. I wouldn’t be overly concerned about that though because it’s apparent there is no BS at all in your character. As long as you are true to yourself and are genuine with others as you were just in your heartfelt reaction then there is someone out there who is going to be very very fortunate and fall “naturally” for you just as Chaka describes. And I have no doubt that it will “naturally” happen for you as well. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your reaction videos. You have a new subscriber!

This is my ALL TIME favorite song! My fondest memory of it is listening to it while sitting across the street in front of the entrance to the Vatican museum, which I had just exited from, and having wine, awesome lunch and watching the people line up to go in. It was a gorgeous sunny, breezy day and this awesome song was swimming in my head right there! It isn't the words that I like, it's the FANTASTIC beat! It had just come out that month when I was in Italy and that same evening I danced to it till I drop in a beautiful club. The beat was so dance-able, so cool that whenever I hear this song it brings me back to such a gorgeous, awesome day in my life. Regarding males being charming, it is usually perceived as bogus, which it usually is and rightfully so. Males only use it to get women in bed and smart women are hipped to that and veer away from it like the plague. I advise you to just be YOU.

I love Chaka!!!!!! Wise words from you! Very true. Keep your vibration upfull. Life is too short to fill it with misery on purpose. Grief and misery will come occasionally even in loving, healthy homes and we will have a good, solid foundation to deal with it and get through it together. Don't make a habit of courting it.

Thank you for showcasing this beautiful singer - her voice is my childhood & when I was 7 or 8, I saw her sing "Tell Me Something Good" when it was new and I told my Mom that I wished I looked like her!! Hey, first time commenter, long time adult woman here. Stop here, if you don't want to read a long comment. 🎵It happened so naturally, I did not know it was love🎶 Yes. It feels great, but tread carefully. As you said, red flags are real (sometimes, we just can't see them). 🎵First you put your arms around me, then you put your charms around me🎶 This can be interpreted in a couple of ways. She rhyming, she's vibing, it's poetic and feels romantic. I haven't looked up the writing credits for this song of the amazing Ms. Chaka, but the message may be: "First you put your arms around me" (They've started to have physical intimacy, or may've already been together); "Then you put your charms around me" (She's started to notice things she likes about his apparent personality/behavior, and she may even realize that she likes him and/or has caught feelings for him). You can break the lines down in many ways, this is just one small theory. Sometimes, people have feelings before they ever hook up, but it also happens the other way around. It can happen to anyone. Your friends were sharing a philosophy that many women have discussed (also, presumably many men). Some people are naturally charming, and they're great people. Some people are charming, but they're only putting on a facade to reach their goals. These people can be simple liars and users, or be full on socio/psychopaths. One learns to not trust charm alone. Look at someone's behavior. What they *do* shows you who they are. Charm is good, but fake is fake. If any man or woman is charming until they feel they've "gotten/hooked" you (physically, emotionally, etc.), and then their facade slips, you're now seeing the real person. One of the most amazing and decent men I've ever known had natural charm. He wasn't extra, slick or overly smooth. I keep a handful of statements I consult, which were said to me by different people and have proven to always be true. My friend was experienced in psychoanalysis. He told me, "Be careful of any person who's too charming. Your average healthy person isn't going to be charming all the time." Whether for content or not, I hope you'll take a chance to enjoy more of her (& their) music.♥

It’s like everything else James. Charming men are generally that, charming” & it’s wonderful. I think if you meet someone who is charming but ends up to be anything but, then that makes you very wary. Generally charming is a good thing. Not many men seem to be nowadays. I am very proud to say that I have been told by many - young ladies included, that my son is charming.

I had most My Teachers Charmed through out the years. I remember one day in High School especially. My classmates asked the Teacher "She plays up as much as the rest of us. Why doesn't She get in trouble?" The Teacher just shrugged Her shoulders. I was never a Bad or Disrespectful kid, just a bit Mischievous. I know My Wide Almond-shaped Eyes are a powerful asset. But I choose not to manipulate anyone. I was raised by My Mum and Grandma to be a Lady. Which maens being nice to everyone Behind Closed Doors and Publicly as well as Simple Elegance. Besides helping others make Everyone feel good. It may be an Old Fashioned Adage, but My Word's My Bond. I gave up trying to lie as a kid. Not only was I Bad At It, I'd always feel bad and confess. But there is a difference between being tactful or being blunt, the 1st option is better.

Charm can be wonderful if the person is genuine, and sincere, and it comes from the heart. Unfortunately, charm can be used as a deceitful means to obtain an alterior motive, usually a selfish one. You need to be able to discern the former from the latter, which is the tricky part.
