This is a cover of a russian song by Vitas. The song is about a lonely guy who builds his house in the wilderness with only the wailing wind for company. Not only did Dimash go higher by a half tone on every upswing but he did it in a sliding fashion like a real wind. Vitas has redone the song with the same "sliding" style instead of the "steps" he did originally. Another great reaction to our beloved Dimash.❤👍 🥰🥰🥰🇨🇦

А Димаш приехал как темная лошадка,показать свой вокал,но какое же было удивление ,когда жюри из 500 человек ставили его во многих турах 1 место!!! 💥He'd been alone in China for quite awhile with a coach and translator, couldn't speak the language and his phone calls sounded increasingly lonely so his Dad flew in to surprise him and sat in the audience. The producers knowing, the camera cuts to him several times, especially at the end Dimash didn't see him until he'd finished and smiling at the audience, saw him, bounded off the stage and grabbed him up in a bear hug and swung him around to the joy of everyone there. Dimash said later, if he'd known his Dad was there, he wouldn't have been nearly so cheeky. Ha !

Yes, this is so special. Also, his father did not leave until another friend or family member could come. Dimash is used to being surrounded by friends and family.

The extended family all lives under the same roof, the girls when married do not see or speak to their family for one year, to help her adjust to living with often a, large new family. The men bring their brides home to live. In their society, brides are most often chosen by the elders, approved by the clan, discussed in hushed meetings for years. There is a Kazakh joke among guys, if your girl can handle "the whisperers" marry her. That's the huge group of mothers, sisters, cousins aunts and female friends of the family that will be there during the long courtship process to watch her every move and discuss among themselves. Ha ! That's why we laugh when his mother says she "just wants a nice girl from a good family" for him. That's Kazakh speak for his bride will be chosen from the most pedigreed family we all approve of, stemming from relationships that span decades, and actually the young people accept the choice for them. It is integral to their culture and works for them. But, he got so lonely in china, used to living with a large group of people, the entire extended family under one roof,, his Dad never went back. To this day, at least one family member and/or a close friend(s) goes on tour or extended trips and they spell each other off his mother explained in an interview.

I hope you will see his performances in China at the SINGER competition (2017): "Show Must Go On" [Queen], "Hello" [Lionel Richie] . You should ALWAYS watch Dimash until the very end because sometimes things happen or he says something that you don’t want to miss. In Passione I believe he wishes his sister a happy birthday.if that had been the version with subtitles you could have heard him ask his father if he had sang well. This, "The Singer" competition, in China considered the toughest competition on the planet. Months of grueling field eliminations culminating in the final 13 weeks of televised eliminations.He, the youngest in its history to make it, he ran it all the way to the end, losing in the final round to a.. ahem..a Chinese girl. But he won the hearts of hundreds of millions as he snowballed it from the first show to the highest viewership in Hunan TV's history.

A Chinese "girl"?! Sandy Lam was 51 at the time, and a popular singer from Hong Kong. All of the contestants were established, talented individuals, and very supportive of each other. We can express our love and appreciation for Dimash without being dismissive of others' talent.

Not an educated soul thought he'd win it, simply on the "face" element of the culture but all of us loved his drive, his superlative talent, his years of training and his elemental good breeding come to the forefront coupled with a winning disposition won the hearts of even the meanest of spirits. Don't kid yourself for a second that the competitors weren't out for all hell blood to win that thing, however, and a lot of things happened that have gone unsaid and will remain so.

He was so young and cute. He still had the " Voice " then ! This was a competition called I am Singer in China, where he was discovered by the big guys. Can you imagine going on, after him ? Our prince has grown to Master his craft. Because of the singer who sang that first, he was told not to sing it anymore, he went up a full range more than the other singer. So much better !! I’ve rarely seen this mentioned, but Dimash was actually “the wildcard” who was basically an unknown at the time. He was invited to participate on the singer in china that year. It was after the show that he became an internet sensation and has only grown to become known 6:30 worldwide selling out venues wherever he performs.

Dimash was singing a cover of Opera 2 in this competition. After the competition the songwriter/singer of Opera 2, Vitas issue a copywrite ban to the courts. You should hear Vitas singing this song (he has upgraded it recently). He looks like a James Bond that can hit those high notes.

@@CycleofJudgesPodcast Not to exaggerate, but so active in representing his nation globally and personally spearheading numerous relief actions, The UN in Geneva recently appointed him a Regional Director For Migrants. An American having grown up in Kazakhstan ( who does that ?) Kids of petroleum engineers, my sister and friends went to uni with him, our parents friends from working on several charities together and she SWEARS they feed him intravenously and he has a rare congenital disease requiring only 3 hours of sleep a week. Hee ! 🤣 He really is that single minded, goal directed, and efficient in thought. A tough negotiator, always prepared, swift decision maker, surrounds himself with the best and expects it. Also, kind, loyal and always a gentleman. I was just thinking, I wouldn't be surprised to see him later in life, composing and in a position of global importance. He says he plans to teach on the university level. So ? One more thing on the schedule, right ? Then there's that wife and 4 kids..

The song is about a guy who built a house and now lives all alone and sad in it ...listening to the howling of the wind outside ... This song belongs to the Ukrainian- Russian vocal clown Vitas. (Relates to Videos on KZbin: Vitas sings never live and his voice is always processed electronically) However, the Chinese forgot to ask Vitas. The rights holders have sued the Chinese television... unfortunately too late. The Chinese had already put it online and so it stays on the internet forever. Dimash sang this song so much better and a lot higher than the original artist, Vitas. Vitas didn't like this at all and went after Dimash prohibiting him from singing it ever again.

I have searched for weeks online, looking for documentation that Vitas forbade Dimash from ever singing the song again. I was unable to find anything. One woman who worked on the show said that the problem was the recording company who had rights to the song attempting to sue Singer for copyright infringement. If you have documentation from a video or an article, please post it so that we all can see it. At this point in time, I don’t think it was personal from Vitas. I have seen several comments that Vitas actually liked Dimash’s cover. Some people say Vitas now is using one of Dimash’s approaches. ❤😊
