Momoland is debuted in 2016 with 7 members from a program called Finding Momoland, years later they added 2 members to become 9 member group, in 2019 2 members left the group, then in 2020, one more member left the group. as for 2020, they start to promote as 6 member girl group. just wanted to let you know, so you won't be surprised or confused when you watch another video with less member. p.s. I remember after their debut, they just went dark for a while. All I saw was an interview where they showed their VERY young age and drove the hosts nuts. They were running on stage and stole a food package the hosts tried to keep hidden as a surprise. It was hilarious.

Bboom Bboom was such a surprise hit for them. It's one of those few Kpop songs that genuinely went viral and helped put the group on the map. But at the same time, it also brought the group an unwarranted amount of hate. A lot of people accused the group and company of bulk buying their own albums in order to manipulate the music charts (which seems to be a common accusation to make whenever an unknown artist tops the charts?) but nothing was ever proven from that. But Bboom Bboom was really a hit though, between the wacky mv and the very addicting beat, it was a song that was everywhere in 2018. So riding off that hit, they came back with "BAAM!" which was equally addicting. Ofcourse this also added to the hate of them supposedly just copying their previous song. Honestly I never understood why Momoland got the hate they got, they became like the scapegoat for people's hatred and its disgusting what some of these girls have to deal with. But thankfully they also have a lot of supporters and are still going strong today despite losing a few members in the past few years. For me, "Bboom Bboom" and "BAAM!" are like the textbook sound of bubblegum pop, the sound non K-pop listeners think all Kpop sound like. There's nothing wrong with that since there is a market for bubblegum pop with that energetic repetitive beat and bright colors and frankly Momoland does it quite well. They really found their place with Bboom Bboom and stuck with it :)

Definetely, Bboom Bboom was their big jump from the low to the success. I really love those two bops, but there's a song that's not as recognized as them but I think it's so good. It's from their first years. The song is called "Freeze" and it's so catchy too, only that very ignored. 😔

Bboom Bboom is possibly the poster child case of the biggest hit also being the biggest missed opportunity... I don't know much about the group itself but I know that the blonde piggytails girl is JooE (Joy) and she succeeded in carving out a bit of a career with MCing gigs and commercials. She has a really bright personality and is a center so I guess I should not be surprised, I commented before on this but centers are often those who command attention in a group, that's their role anyway.

ah yes, these songs...I remember when they came out, got obsessed with bboom bboom listened to it EVERY DAY and then got tired of it after a year, kind of same with baam just didn't listen as much. I think momoland debuted in 2015 or 2016 and yes they hit it big with bboom bboom and then their company decided to release a song similar to bboom bboom cuz of how much success it brought, I also remember how much negative response baam got and how sexualized the members got both from the company and audience like the company would make them wear shorts so short u could see too much skin and u could see the girls trying to like tug the shorts down. but ye 2018 was quite a ride for Momoland, I just came here from a seventeen going seventeen video (I hope u watch one of the svt gose episodes, they're hilarious) and I'm praying that you're gonna check them out someday in the future

okay so: Momoland was my first ever group in kpop. Bboom Bboom was their breakthrough song. it blew them up. Since they are from a extremely small label, they had the same producer/writer on 4 comebacks starting from Bboom Bboom and up until their 2019 song Thumbs Up. their company decided to safe it and stick to a formula with those 4 songs. the 3 before Bboom Bboom and their most recent one Ready Or Not are not the same structure. They were big in 2018 and because their company is among the worst companies in kpop, their popularity has reclined back to basically how it was before Bboom Bboom. They were the biggest bandwagoned hated group. if you do want to check out more from them i suggest their songs Freeze, Ready Or Not, I'm So Hot and their debut Jjan! Koong! Kwang! keep in mind their most recent song Ready Or Not is good and was written by Psy(the guy that did Gangnam Style) however the mv is awful. Their company decided to spend the money on debuting a new boy group instead (another reason we hate their company)

That's the reason why a TV network convinced them to sign, because they became really big here.. after their hit song "Bboom Bboom", most especially *Nancy.* She even supposed to have a drama series to one of the famous actors here in PH.
